Jian Anning was still smiling as she “complained” to Yu Zexiao: “Zexiao, seriously, you just bring people in and start playing the piano! You don’t even offer them a drink!”
“This isn’t a teahouse!” Yu Zexiao quipped, but nonetheless, he handed a cup of tea to Nie Anni: “Here you go!”
Nie Anni’s lips twitched; she’d never seen hospitality like this before! It was rude and weak, also quite barbaric and overwhelming, full of complaints!
—But, this guy is Yu Zexiao. The fact he didn’t scold anyone is already good. He even offered her tea. No matter how you think about it…
A strange thought flashed through her mind as she took the teacup, but she bypassed Yu Zexiao and said to Jian Anning, who was serving snacks to Yu Zexiao, “Miss Jian, thank you.”

“Hey, why are you sharing my stuff with others?” Despite complaining, Yu Zexiao pushed the plate of cookies toward Nie Anni.
“They’re really delicious, give it a try.” Jian Anning’s eyes curved with a smile, and Nie Anni, unable to refuse the warm hospitality, picked up a small piece and put it in her mouth. As soon as she held it, there was still a slight warmth, yet it wasn’t oily at all. Once it touched her lips, a sweet aroma spread, and surprisingly, the cookie lted in her mouth like cotton candy. Not overly sweet, paired with a sip of clear tea — the refreshing sensation was just perfect.
Her eyebrows lifted in pleasant surprise. Indeed, food and music alike are things that bring happiness to people. At least, she was quite happy now.
“Tasty, right?”
Nie Anni was just about to nod when a ring sounded.
Jian Anning stood up to open the door. This ti, it was Situ Xuan who ca in!

The outfit he had on earlier was dirtied when he accidentally sent items from the table scattering onto the floor. The newly dressed Situ Xuan, in a light yellow casual attire, had shed the excessive pressure that previously surrounded him, paired with the slight smile at the corner of his lips, he seed a lot more approachable.
After the prior adjustnt, the Situ Xuan who appeared before Jian Anning was entirely renewed; outwardly, one couldn’t see any trace of his forr anger and ltdown!
“Slls so good~~ what delicious thing are you guys making?” he purposely asked with a bright smile.
Who knows if the call was made by Yu Zexiao or accidentally triggered. But regardless of which it was, it definitely wouldn’t have been made by Jian Anning!
Moreover, he was certain that even if Yu Zexiao intentionally called to make him overhear, he wouldn’t tell Jian Anning! If Jian Anning found out, she’d surely throw a fit with him. Such secretive conversation in the boudoir is utterly embarrassing to share!
Sure enough, Situ Xuan’s little sche was spot on! Yu Zexiao indeed called deliberately, and it was done without informing Jian Anning!
