To explain why the mbers of the Cheng Family didn’t et with Jian Anning, it’s because the Cheng Family went directly back to Toronto. As for Jian Anning, she first flew to Vancouver.
She needed to understand much of her father’s assets first before heading to Toronto, to avoid being deceived by the Cheng Family.

Flying from Yancheng to Vancouver takes more than ten hours. After getting off the plane and slling the familiar scent of ho in the air, she felt a sense of relief wash over her.
Her father’s house was in West Vancouver, where it was consistently looked after. Every year around Qingming Festival, she would co back to stay for a while. Taking a taxi from the airport ho, standing in front of the door, seeing the familiar scenery, a slightly sour feeling surged through her.

Aunt Sophia had been working for their family after they moved to Vancouver, one could say she watched her grow up. After her father’s death, she was taken away by her mother, who considered dismissing her and selling the house. It was Jian Anning who insisted on keeping the house and Aunt Sophia.

“I went to my hotown.” Jian Anning smiled, “I returned to my father’s hotown, the distant Huaxia Country.”
“Where did you go? Why didn’t you say a word? Is it because your mother isn’t treating you well?” Aunt Sophia was a bit nervous, just like she was still a child.
