Jian Anning stopped in her tracks the mont she saw the text ssage!

Although Yu Jingxi hadn’t told her anything, he sotis inadvertently revealed information at ho: his frustration wasn’t just about the stolen twenty million; there were probably other crucial docunts involved!

As for what made those docunts so important, he hadn’t said, but after receiving the ssage, Jian Anning had a hunch—the chip Situ Xuan ntioned was likely that docunt!

She hadn’t replied yet when Situ Xuan spoke again, his voice cold and stern: "Only you can co over for this matter. If you don’t co, or send soone else, or tell anyone from the Yu Family about our eting, I will imdiately hand the chip over to a company that holds a grudge against the Yu Family."

That statent startled Jian Anning. Without a second thought, she called Situ Xuan, and in a lowered voice, said, "Situ Xuan, are you crazy? This is illegal!"

At this point, she still didn’t know Situ Xuan was the man secretly plotting against the Yu Family. She assud Situ Xuan had sohow acquired important docunts from Huanyu Group and was now attempting to negotiate with her.

Situ Xuan just laughed, and upon hearing her voice, it was as if every pore in his body relaxed. His previously tough tone instantly softened: "Anning, you know my reputation, don’t you?"

That line left Jian Anning dumbfounded. Although Situ Xuan had been forceful with her the last ti, in her mind, he was still the stable and considerate man who spoke politely. How could she have forgotten... when she was evading marriage, she’d heard of his reputation! This man was ruthless to his cousins, a powerful figure who easily navigated both sides of the law!

In the world, he only restrained all his sharp edges in front of her, behaving simply like an ordinary man lost in love, quite courteous.

Yet deep down, he remained that proud and ruthless overlord!

"You..."

"Besides, the illegal acts weren’t mine, surely it’s your ’future father-in-law’!" Situ Xuan chuckled on the other end of the line, gently twisting the ring on his finger, emphasizing the words "future father-in-law" with a distinct tone.

Jian Anning was startled; she didn’t know whether Yu Jingxi, after so many years in business, had ever committed any cris. This day and age, especially those running large companies, almost none haven’t walked the grey path or wielded special power. This grey area is an unwritten rule in the business world; almost every big company has done it, only not publicly acknowledged. Once exposed, it’s unquestionably criminal!

She’s just about to beco part of the Yu Family and won’t be foolish enough to let Yu Jingxi go to "turn himself in."

Moreover, Yu Jingxi hasn’t told her anything; she has no idea what leverage Situ Xuan might have over him.

She frowned, "Situ Xuan, what do you really want?"

"Anning, I just want to see you, that’s all." Situ Xuan’s voice suddenly beca long and drawn out over the receiver.
