“Why wash again?” she asked blankly, suddenly feeling herself being held and sitting on his lap, back against him.
Hearing her words, he released her earlobe, picked up her chin with one hand, turning her face to the side with a gentle smile, “What do you think?”
The end of his sentence lifted slightly, like autumn leaves swirling in the air.
She couldn’t speak, because the next second, his lips sealed hers.
The warm water slowly flooded over their bodies, almost subrging the entire bathroom into a vast ocean.
Bubbles from the bath masked the bodies underwater, blurring their outlines.
The only clarity was her futile fingers pressing desperately against the edge of the bathtub, feeling as though her soul was about to be scattered by him.
