We had rode a few minutes away from the mountain tribes of the crest of the boulder and I looked at Lyall who was at the driver’s seat.

"Lyall," I called, "What did you find?"

Last night amidst the celebrations I had given him a task to find out about Lisana from the drunk people. With their senses dulled and it would have been easier to coax things out of them. Hopefully, he had the information that I was looking form

"Lisana is the daughter of Poras and Tanya, she is a healing mage, Master."

My eyebrows jumped as I nodded and asked him to continue.

"Around half a month ago, so high official from the Main Temple of the capital had arrived at the tribe. They had co to know about Lisana’s ability so, they wanted to take her with them. Poras and others resisted so..."

"So?"

"I don’t really know what they did but that official talked with Lisana for so ti and then she agreed to go with them. She even said that from that ti onwards she was not a part of the tribe and that she will follow the Saint and beco a priestess who brings salvation to the people."

I humd and he added, "The n who told about it said that Lisana wasn’t the kind of person to abandon her people. She loved staying at the tribe and everyone loved her, she was bound to be the next leader of the tribe but then... She made this strange decision which shocked everyone and shattered Poras’s trust. Since then, he forbade his people to talk about Lisana. He basically hates the Temple and the people who belong from there."

"They must have threatened her or coerced her into making that decision or she might not have gone so calmly," he added making hum.

"So, they go and collect the people that they gather information about." I mumbled.

"They might co for too,"

I could see a vein popping over Lyall’s jaw which made smile.

"You do rember what I told you, right?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yes, Master."

After a day long journey we reached at the town which for a change didn’t have huts or tiny houses. There were proper establishnts and solid houses but then again, the situation over there seed the sa.

There weren’t a lot of people outside despite it being the middle of the day and whoever was outside had their faces covered with masks.

"Deja Vu..." I mumbled making Lyall look at .

The ones who saw us gave us strange looks as I wasn’t wearing any mask, we passed by a few people who kept their distance from us before we made our way towards the temple that was in the town.

The priests over there were also wearing masks as they looked at and then at Lyall strangely. One of the younger priests stepped ahead while the others kept their distance.

"Why are you not covering your faces?" He asked.

"I and my knight don’t need it, I’m a healing mage."

Their expressions shifted from suspicion to surprise as they saw .

"A-Are you really?"

"Then, are you from the Main Temple?"

"No, I have been going on my own and healing people from different towns." I said sounding hesitant.

"You what?"

"You an you have been going across towns alone and healing the infected people?" One of the older ones asked.

"Yes," I smiled.

They threw a conflicted glance at Lyall before they looked at .

"We-We were expecting a priest from the Main Temple to co..." The oldest one said.

"I will be happy to aid you in any way possible."

The priests exchanged cautious glances before they asked , "Are you really a healer?"

"Why would I go out in the midst of a plague outbreak without covering my face if I wasn’t?"

I hated explaining myself.

"P-Prove that you are capable of healing then,"

After a few minutes, I was standing in a large hall which was dotted with cots and on the cots lay the infected people. There were around fifty or so people there who were groaning and moaning.

"You can start from here," the oldest priest said gesturing to the young woman who lay in the cot grumbling sothing incorrigible.

I walked up to the center of the room and then faced the priests who looked sceptical.

"Why did you go all the way over there?" The old priest asked and I smiled.

"Because this is how I cure people," I said before I activated the Supre Healing spell.

The pure mana burst out of my being rushing around like a swirling tornado engulfing everything that ca in its wake. I could feel the anguish mingle with my mana before it was washed away.

After a few minutes, the spell was done and Lyall approached giving a hand as I was feigning the act of getting weak after the spell.

The patients from the cots sat up noticing as their pain had suddenly vanished, they stared at their bodies where there were no blemishes or rashes and then they looked at .

The priests had comical expressions as they stared at with their eyes as round as saucers and jaws sitting comfortably on the ground.

"Do you believe now?" I asked.

"H-How is that even..."

"A Saintess has awakened!"

"Saintess!"

"Saintess!"

The people started cheering while Lyall towed out of the crowd towards the priests.

"My Master needs rest," Lyall spoke up.

The older priests nudged the younger one and he nodded before grinning at and Lyall. He didn’t seem like a priest even though he was dressed in the robes. His body language and his talking style made him stand out.

"P-Please co this way, I will guide you to the room where you could rest, My Lady."

He led us down the stony corridor before he stopped in front of a wooden door. He opened it up and then turned to with a smile.

"Please rest here for the ti being, I’ll inform Lord Boltzer about your presence."

"Lord Boltzer?" I questioned.

"Yes, he’s the Viscount who looks after this territory. He’d be elated to know that a person of your standing has graced this place with her presence."

The change in his attitude and tone was unnerving but I simply smiled thanking him before he practically dashed away.

Lyall led inside the small room with a window, a desk and a bed.

"Quite a fancy room, isn’t it Lyall?" I asked and he looked around as well.

"The nobles will try to have you on their side, Master." He said instead.

"I know,"

The factions were currently on two sides in the King’s court, one faction was of the Temple’s side who was using the Saint’s presence to strengthen their power and hold over the politics. While the other faction belonged to the nobles who were losing their power and influence over the King’s side.

If the war wasn’t waging then this country might have been in a civil war with the Temple and the nobles against each other.

Crown Prince Arian who was only 15 was sent to the battlefield to keep him away from this ss. He was the only hier to the throne so, there wasn’t much problem but, once he returns he would have to choose sides.

The Temple was building itself so that when Arian would be back they would brainwash him into doing their bidding while the nobles were also finding ways to overthrow the power that the Temple had gained and for that they would do anything.

In such circumstances, if another person with the healing power as strong as the Saint aka the Trump card of Temple showed up then, it will disturb the balance. And additionally, if the nobles find this new card then it would act as a battle of power.

I was offering myself as a wild, overpowered card which could make these dormant sitting chickens into frenzy. The one who would do the right bidding will have on their side.

"Master?" I turned my attention to Lyall who suddenly spoke up.

"Yes?"

"Are you hungry? I will get sothing for you," he asked and I humd before I smiled.

"It’s fine. We’ll be having our al with the Viscount in so ti."

"Are you sure he will call you? I an, he wouldn’t believe a priest’s words." He said and I smirked.

"The priest is most probably his mole, Lyall. And he wouldn’t want to miss an opportunity to get his hands on a healer who could beco his pawn."

Lyall flinched but didn’t say anything, his expression turned to that of displeasure and I lay in the bed watching the dark ceiling.

"Do you miss your family?" I asked changing the subject.

"... Yes, sotis." He admitted making smile.

" too... Father would be worried about , I wonder how Rune is doing..." I muttered before I closed my eyes drifting off to sleep.
