Asher didn’t change his decision of sending back ho so, I had no choice but to think about comncing Plan B.
Good thing, I had this one possibility in my mind that sohow Asher might fail to bring to the Temple.
Currently, Lyall was in the cri city that was operated by certain people just like they were being operated in Sestia. I had ordered him to go and take over so portion of not all of this place. He had enough ti and all the aid from Damon so, I was expecting him to have gathered enough power to execute my plan B.
"Lyall?" I called through the communication device.
He didn’t take long to respond, "Yes, Master?"
"Where are you right now?"
"I’m... at the underworld city of the capital, Master." He spoke.
"Good, find a private space to talk. I’m coming there." I said.
"Pardon?"
"Why? You don’t want to co?"
"That’s not it, Master. I’ll find such a place."
"Let know when you do,"
"Yes, Master."
I changed my form and beca a male version of Ocean before I donned on the black cloak and adjusted the communication and the teleportation devices on my clothes before I sat down on the edge of my bed waiting.
There was a sudden knock on the door which made frown, I wasn’t expecting anyone. I walked over to the door but didn’t open it, I could sense Lilly standing outside.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Um... My Lady it’s , Lilly!"
"What is it, Lilly?"
"I-I just ca to see if you were all right, My Lady."
"I’m fine, Lilly just... leave alone for so ti."
"I-I am here if you need anything, My Lady."
"Yes..."
I kept my tone low and resigned as Asher’s decision didn’t only affect but also the other people in the manor. They had finally thought that I was back but now Asher was sending away again, and this ti possibly forever.
"Master? You can co now." I heard Lyall’s voice before I secured the lock of the door from the inside and then teleported.
I landed softly in a room lit up by the burning oil lamp with a chair and a table. I looked at Lyall who stood there with his hands at his back and spine straight.
"How are you doing?" I asked.
"I’m doing well, thanks to you, Master."
"How’s the plan of taking over this place going?" I asked as I walked over to the window and looked out at the slum area.
"I’ve already done it,"
I looked back at him, slightly surprised but impressed.
"That’s good, so you will be able to execute the Plan B then,"
"Plan B?" He asked with a slightly frown.
"Yes," I said as I walked over and plopped down on the chair putting my feet up on the table.
"Asher is not going to take to the Temple. He’s decided to take to back ho."
"Pardon?"
"Mirielle’s house."
His lips pursed in a thin line and I added, "He said he would take day after tomorrow so, we don’t have much ti. Listen carefully of what you have to do."
"Yes, Master."
I explained him the plan and he nodded listening attentively.
"Make sure to keep an eye on and also what about the Temple? Did you do what I asked you to?"
"Yes, Master. I did it as soon as I had taken over this place."
"Good, you’re working quite swiftly."
The corners of his lips twitched before he bowed in front of .
"I’m happy to receive your praise."
I chuckled and shook my head, "Considering the work on my side, you are doing way better."
"Are you having so trouble, Master?" He asked and I sighed.
"It’s family drama."
"Pardon?"
"Asher’s family problems are becoming a hurdle for ... also his feelings."
"So, that’s why this plan?" He asked and I nodded.
"I’ll see you then, make sure you do it perfectly or we might have blood on our hands."
"Please rest assured, Master."
I nodded and stood up, "I’m hungry, let’s go eat sothing."
I hadn’t eaten well at Asher’s place while keeping up the facade of the depressed noble girl. So, eating less and staying cooped up in the room was the way of showing it.
Lyall led out of the room which was in the inn before he led over to the ss downstairs. The people down there stared at him and then at as he sat in front of serving the food.
"You’re not going to eat?" I asked.
"I already had my dinner, Master." He told and I humd as I continued scarfing down the feast in front of .
I ate a hearty dinner before I stood up from my seat putting down the pouch of money on the table.
"I’ll pay, Master."
"It’s fine, I ate anyways."
"But-" I turned my cold gaze on him.
"You think I can’t pay for myself?" I asked and he flinched.
"I’m sorry, Master."
I smiled, "It’s fine, I understand your feelings."
After eating up, I returned back to Asher’s manor and went straight to bed.
Lyall taking up the underworld business of this place was as good as having one appendage of Denril in my hand. I had a good use for it in the near future so, having it already under was a good thing.
The only thing left was day after tomorrow.
It ca quicker than I thought and the household personnel was once more emotional because I was leaving. They repeated the procedure of bidding farewell. I had worn my hair up and secured it with the ivory hair pin with the blue beads that Mrs Speil had given .
She hugged once with the teary eyes before I walked reluctantly towards the carriage prepared for .
Asher was going to be on the horse back along with a couple of his guards. I sat inside the carriage and relaxed. The seats were quite comfy and luxurious.
I lounged in the seat hearing the sounds of the clip clops of the horse hooves before I closed my eyes.
After a couple of hours, the hustle bustle and the scent of the town was replaced by the sound of wind and the scent of vegetation and forest.
I yawned and stretched my arms above my head before cracking my stiff neck. The carriage was still going uninterrupted except for the bumps because of the rough dirt path.
I glanced out of the window by pushing away the curtains and spotted Asher riding beside my carriage. He seed on alert and I shook my head.
His head turned and his eyes t mine, I put on the expression of being hurt before I pulled the curtain.
I sat back in my seat crossing my arms at my chest with my eyes closed and Mana Sense activated. I could feel the presences of those around , their pulse, the blood rushing through their veins and everything that was around them.
I pushed further away from those in my vicinity before my Sense touched the ones I was waiting for. I almost smirked as I realised that they were close.
I opened my eyes, dissolved the Mana Sense and waited with anticipation.
The interference started a couple of minutes later when the horses suddenly neighed loudly and started jumping throwing the ones on them to topple on the ground.
I acted my part and feigned to panic as Asher opened the door and looked at .
"Wha-What is going on, Sir Asher?" I asked.
"Please stay in here, Miss. It’s only a minor problem. I’ll take care of it." He assured before he closed the door.
"You’re calling my right hand man a minor problem. I’m kind of offended, Asher." I muttered as I crossed my legs one over the other.
I could hear the sounds of the n fighting outside, the grunts and howls along with the sound of the blade cutting through the air.
Suddenly the carriage jolted and I turned my head as I saw the door being ripped open. It was Lyall, with his face concealed and a long tattered cloak covering his form.
I feigned a scream and Lyall reached out to , he threw the black blanket over my shoulders. I grasped his hand and he pulled out, tossing over his shoulder. I pretended to be unconscious.
"I was waiting for you," I muttered.
"I apologise for the wait, Master." He said and I looked at the dead bodies of the guards and then at Asher who was preoccupied with a couple of attackers.
"It was quick." I muttered.
"Let’s get going." I ordered.
"Yes, Master."
Lyall was about to move when I saw a knife flying his way, thrown by Asher.
"Lyall, step to the right," I commanded.
Lyall quickly sidestepped and the knife landed on the land. Lyall turned a little to look at Asher who was now rushing his way, his previous opponents seed injured.
Lyall dodged Asher’s attacks with ease as he didn’t have to hold back here. He also made sure that I was safe.
"Everyone, let’s move. We’ve got what we wanted. " Lyall ordered while Asher still being in front of him.
The attackers listened to him and without a word left the spot.
Lyall ducked under Asher’s sword before he swung his free hand and planted a heavy punch into Asher’s stomach. I saw as Asher gasped and stumbled two steps back. Lyall took his chance and pulled his sword cutting a gash over his chest. It seed shallow enough so, I didn’t say anything.
"You, don’t deserve to stand by her side." He shot at Asher before Lyall grasped my waist securing in place and started dashing away.
I saw Asher rushing behind us but with his wound healing wasn’t able to keep up, Lyall’s speed was impossible to catch for him even without his injury. So, he ended up falling behind and I sighed.
"Plan B, phase 1, successful."
