I watched the woman leave and felt Roan’s gaze on .
"Let’s go, we’ve wasted enough ti," I said before I led the way and he walked behind .
"I thought the unauthorised people didn’t enter, how did a random woman enter Oasis and also try to commit cris?" Roan asked.
"Don’t make a into a criminal, Roan. Didn’t you see? She was desperate and besides, it wasn’t any money or sothing that she stole, she was hungry so, she stole bread."
"That doesn’t pardon her cri. Stealing is stealing." Roan said and I humd.
"She might have suffered from sothing that we don’t know about, let her be."
"She still had the gall to stand against you when you basically saved her form getting beaten up." Roan huffed and I smiled.
"You don’t want anyone to take advantage of your Master’s kindness?" I asked and he scoffed.
"I just don’t want people to think that Oasis’s Master isn’t a pushover."
I laughed and just as I saw the bookstore, I felt a tug behind .
"Master," I turned and looked at Roan who had stopped .
"What?"
"Look," he said pointing at the crowd.
It was Asher, he was talking to one of the guards who looked after the Oasis.
"What’s he doing here at this ti?" Roan wondered.
"We don’t have ti for any more distractions, Roan." I said as I turned on my heel and walked into the book store which was titled as the Lair of Tales.
I entered the store with the bell jingling and I heard a soft welco, before the girl behind the counter straightened up and smiled widely.
"Welco, Master. It’s been a while!" She grinned.
"Yes, indeed." I responded before I cocked my head towards the second floor and she nodded in understanding.
We walked up the stairs and I noticed the footsteps coming behind . We walked up to the last shelf and I opened the door to my private office.
Rose and Roan entered before and I walked in after them. We went down the winding stairs to a room which was lit by mana stones and had an office with various secret docunts, two couches and a table along with a desk, chairs and a large comfy chair for .
I walked over and took my seat looking at Rose and Roan who took their seats in front of .
I plucked out the envelope from my pocket and placed it on the table.
"I want you to find everything about this person," I said and Rose reached out and picked up the envelope before checking the contents.
"I shall look into it and let you know about it as soon as I can, Master." She said and I nodded.
"It’s a sensitive matter so, I’d advise you to keep your sources warned." I said and she smiled.
"Yes, Master."
I knew my sources were extrely good with their work but it was my duty to worry about them and make sure that they were safe.
"I believe this person is the reason why Viscount Jordan was executed," I clarified so, that Rose would understand the seriousness of the situation.
Rose nodded, "I thought that it might be related to that,"
I cocked a brow and she answered, "I had received a request to look for this person a couple of days ago, but since one of my sources said that she was sohow related to Viscount Jordan’s incident, I hadn’t asked my sources to dig deeper."
I nodded, she was good at her work without telling her what to do, but it was her recklessness that sotis made worry.
"Tell them to look for her but don’t approach the people related to it, especially those around the palace."
"Yes, Master."
"Also, don’t go on the grounds yourself like last ti," I spoke pointedly making her avert her eyes.
"I’ll keep that in mind,"
"Rose." I spoke firmly and she hung her head.
"I understand, Master." She responded.
"Who gave you the request to look for this person?" I asked and she looked at the paper.
"Two people, one of them was Marquis Fairisles’s servant and second was a stranger. I had my people investigate him and it turned out that he was sent by-"
"The Golden Serpent." I completed before she could and she nodded.
"Wait, what?!" Roan frowned.
"You didn’t think she would know about this person." I said and he crossed his arms.
"Well, she has her eyes and ears everywhere so she might know about this person but then why is she relying on us of all people?"
Rose chuckled as she answered, "We’re the best, information guild in the kingdom, Mr Roan. Besides, I’m sure Master had his effect on her that’s why she believed that she could use so elaborate thod to get us investigate for her."
"Not that I’m going to let her in on any worthy information." I said as I placed my chin on my palm.
"That poor woman doesn’t even know she’s being played." Roan sighed.
"Poor woman?" I and Rose spoke simultaneously with the sa ti that made Roan look at both of us before he chuckled.
"Not in that sense, I just thought she doesn’t even know that she had been fooled since so long."
"Don’t sympathize with wrong people, Mr Roan." Rose said.
"I don’t sympathize with anyone." He corrected and I leaned back.
"Rose," I spoke and she looked at .
"I believe there weren’t any major problems in my absence."
"No, Master. Everything here had been peaceful, there were so more people who ca into Oasis seeking shelter and the Foundation had been keeping a track of them." She explained, "Also, there had been so disturbances during Viscount Jordan’s execution but nothing was serious enough to demand your attention."
I nodded, "Good."
She smiled as she stood up, "Ah, pardon , I almost forgot, I’ll get you so tea, Master."
I waved my hand dismissively as I stood up, "No need, I have to return soon. I ca here only to deliver this and check on you. It’s good to see you doing well."
"Aw, I even got so books that you would like." She pouted and I chuckled.
"Send them to the mansion,"
"I will,"
"And drop by yourself so ti, I’m sure Mrs Jones would love to spend so ti with her daughter."
Rose paused for a mont before she smiled, "I’ll surely co by since you’re back, Master."
I chuckled and walked past the table, Roan stood beside as I faced Rose properly. Her hair had grown a bit longer and she seed a bit more mature. I wondered if she planned on marrying. But that’s her personal matter so, I wouldn’t interfere.
I reached out and placed my hand over her head, "I’ll take my leave for now. Send a ssage as soon as you find sothing."
"Yes, Master." She spoke with the tips of her ears going red.
Roan and I turned after that and walked up the stairs, I smirked as I stopped in front of the door.
"What’s wrong, Master?" Roan asked as I didn’t open the door.
"Nothing, I just had a thought." I said before I opened the door and stepped out.
We walked out of the store and I started walking towards the stalls.
"Weren’t you going to head back?" Roan asked as he followed .
"Yes, but since I’m in town, I want to take sothing for Kai." I answered as I stopped in front of a jewellery shop.
"You’re going to buy sothing now? Isn’t it a bit too late for that?" Roan asked.
I entered the store and the caretaker who recognised imdiately straightened up before he bowed respectfully.
"Welco, Master Ryujin. It’s been a while, what would you like?" He asked with a smile and I looked around.
"A platinum chain."
"I’ll bring it right away." He said before he started pulling the boxes from the counters and placed them in front of .
I looked through the chains which seed like they were for adults and then looked at him, "It’s for a child."
"Oh, my, I’ll bring the ones for children right away." He gathered the boxes and returned with other boxes.
I looked through them and picked one.
"I’ll pack it right away."
He walked towards the other counter while Roan leaned over the counter watching the other pieces.
"Would you also liked to get sothing?" I asked and he looked at .
"What? Really?" He asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Then," he looked around like an excited child and I watched him as he looked through the bracelets, cufflinks, brooches.
"Here you go, Master." The caretaker placed the box in front of and I looked at Roan.
"I can’t decide," he groaned and I chuckled.
"Can you get that?" I asked pointing at the brooch with a clear diamond on it.
The caretaker smiled before he placed the brooch in front of us, Roan watched it and then looked at it.
"Do you like it?" Roan looked at with glowing eyes.
"I do!" I chuckled and then looked at the bright blue diamond brooch that was sitting on the counter.
"Pack this and that one separately." I said pointing at the blue brooch.
"Huh? Who is that one for?" Roan asked, I looked at him and he tilted his head before I smirked.
"Soone is working really hard at this mont, I should gift them sothing good, right?"
