"But I have a condition." I announced and Katherine’s eyes sharpened.

"A condition?" She almost scoffed.

"I had decided that I wouldn’t delve into the succession fights and stay loyal to my duty as the citizen of the kingdom by helping the masses. But since Your Majesty is asking for my assistance herself so, I guess I have no choice."

Her eyebrows twitched as I brushed away her command as a re request.

"My condition is that I wouldn’t be biased against any Prince." I said and she placed her foot down as if she was about to get up but I continued not giving her ti.

"I shall talk with both the Princes and then decide which Prince I want to side with."

She gritted her teeth, "You think you are worthy of deciding that whether you will help my son or not?"

"If I weren’t Your Majesty wouldn’t have called for ."

"Marquis watch what you say, this is Her Majesty, the Queen of Sestia!" Keira snapped at a calculated ti while the other lady grew flustered at not being able to speak.

"Yes, wa-watch your tone, Marquis." She stuttered with her face going red and I concealed my smirk.

"I wouldn’t have supported any Prince, Your Majesty but since you are trying to bring onboard so, I wouldn’t be biased."

"This is an Imperial command, Marquis." Katherine snarled and I smirked.

"The Imperial command can only be given by the King, Your Majesty." I reminded her and she gritted her teeth.

"You are pretty eager to get destroyed, Marquis. Don’t forget that I can uproot your little town and throw it off." She threatened and I was tempted to laugh again.

[Goddess of Wisdom sighs saying that there’s a limit to ones delusions.]

[Defender of Divine Glory feels pity for the Queen.]

[Giver of Gifts asks you to not enrage her to the point that she would harm your side.]

"Don’t worry, she can’t do anything to my side. My fort is impenetrable, even if she tried to do sothing she’ll shatter." I responded to my Patrons through my thoughts.

"I request Your Majesty to not try that. His Majesty has given full autonomy over my business and Foundation. And I hope you wouldn’t want to challenge his authority." I warned her with a small smile.

Her face started turning red with anger and I enjoyed it, the spell of suffocating others started brewing again but it again had no effect on and I sat unfazed.

"If you are still willing to listen then, I would talk to both the Princes once, Prince Eric returns and then I shall decide on whom I could support." I said and she glared at .

A couple of monts passed before she inhaled and exhaled deeply and I could see her regaining her composure.

"Fine then, you can do that." She said.

I tilted my head, "I’m grateful for your understanding, Your Majesty."

She smirked leaning back and I could clearly see the thoughts running in her head. She was planning on using my vassals whom she had summoned to the palace separately. She would throw bait to break them off my side so that she could get more support for her son and for to fall.

I just wanted her to try it.

She didn’t stretch out eting after that and I was asked to leave. I left the chamber and walked silently all the way to the entrance where my carriage waited.

Lyall looked at curiously before I got on and asked him to sit with . He glanced back at the palace before he got inside the carriage and sat in front of .

I maintained the silence until we rode out of the palace and then burst out laughing making Lyall jump. I kept laughing for a good fifteen minutes and Lyall kept looking at until I leaned back holding my abdon and wiping the tears which slipped by.

"Oh, my! She really never fails to entertain ." I laughed and shook my head.

Lyall fidgeted and my laughter slowly died down and I started explaining him about what happened.

He chuckled when he heard the whole thing and I sighed with the smile as I relaxed in my seat.

"I like this ga, Lyall. It’s like a hunt, the prey doesn’t even know that it’s a prey." I chuckled.

"A Dragon is the ultimate predator after all." He said and I nodded but then I thought of sothing.

"Lyall, they call Lion the King of the jungle but not Tiger who’s stronger than a lion in most of the senses, do you know why?" I asked and he tilted his head to one side as if pondering over it.

"Tiger is indeed the strongest predator of we compare him to the Lion, unlike Lions, tigers don’t stay in a pride and there’s rarely any creature who could pose any threat to a tiger but then again a Lion fights the hyenas, crocodiles and other creatures who could pose any threat to its pride. I think a Lion is called a King because it has the power not only itself but also his pride from the outside forces. The tiger on the other hand is very strong but it could be the Emperor without a crown who rules on the lands without anyone daring to defy its power." He explained and I observed him.

"What about a Dragon then?" I asked leaning ahead with interest.

"The Dragons are beyond the titles, Master. They are Gods who make or break the dynasties that these Kings make." He said and I smiled.

Around two weeks later, I sat leisurely in the chair with a tea cup in my hand while the three n in front of had the wine glasses. We had gathered in my drawing room to discuss about the royal summon that we all received from the Queen.

"The Golden Serpent seems to underestimate you to great lengths, Master." Lord Devil started.

"Indeed, to think she thought she could try to create a rift between us by trying to use her position, nothing could be more ridiculous." Lord Snake snorted downing his drink in a sip.

"I knew sothing was suspicious the mont I received the royal summon from her." Lord Hawke said.

"So, what did she say?" I asked as I sipped my tea.

"I’ll start!" Lord Snake volunteered.

"All right,"

"So, when I first entered the parlor I thought she would ask for so special services considering I’m-"

"Spare us, Lord Snake. Keep your fantasies to yourself." Lord Hawke chided and Lord Devil chuckled.

"Oh, co on! Let explain properly." Lord Snake aka Zach whined.

"Let him be, Lord Hawke." I said and Zach grinned.

"So, I asked her what kind of service she wanted and she told that she would offer all the underworld cities and a diamond mine if I supported her son." He said and I heard a scoffs from the other two Lords.

"And what did you say?" Lord Hawke asked.

"What could I say? I simply reminded her of the very Peter Erkens whom she abandoned when he got caught up in shit. And how you were the one who gave my current life." He shrugged downing his glass again, "She was pissed off and also used magic on to try to intimidate into do her bidding but you know . I’d rather die than betray my beloved Master."

Zach grinned and I smiled, "Good work, Lord Snake."

"I still don’t understand why you don’t drink, Master." Lord Snake aka Zach said.

His brown skin was already starting to flush because of the drinks that he’d already had.

[Goddess of Wisdom says it’s because she is underage.]

"One should always be in their senses, Lord Snake." I said as I sipped my tea.

"Call by my na, Master." He slurred with a smile and I cocked my brow while the other two Lord sighed.

"Co to your senses, Lord Snake. We’re still in a eting." Lord Hawke reminded him and he scoffed.

"eting, scheting. I’m only here because I wanted to see our Master’s beautiful face." He spoke with a grin.

"Handso face, you an." Lord Hawke corrected.

"No, beautiful." Zach slurred with a giggle.

"Well, even I believe that Master’s face is beautiful." Lord Devil spoke.

"Don’t tell even you are drunk, Lord Devil." Lord Hawke sighed.

"Nay, I know it true— he hideth his face, for his beauty were enough to make kingdoms fall before him." He slurred making chuckle and Lord Hawke to massage his temples.

"I apologise in their stead, Master." He said and I waved my hand.

"It’s fine, they’re grown n, you shouldn’t take responsibility." I said and he sighed.

"You’re greatly generous, Master."

"That Golden Serpent thinks she can defeat a Dragon." Zach shouted and then laughed loudly.

"Ease up, Lord Snake. We’re at Master’s residence. You’re disturbing everyone." Lord Hawke chided while Lord Devil chuckled.

"That’s quite true though," he said making Lord Hawke look at him.

Lord Devil smirked darkly before he looked at , "When did a Dragon ever die from the poison of a snake."
