The night passed by and for the next two days everyone was still disoriented because of that night’s incident.

Within these two days I had completed most of my work so, what remained was taking out so trash.

It was after dinner that I heard the knock on my bedroom’s door and called the person in.

Lyall stepped inside and walked up to soundlessly, I had asked him to run to the town for an errand and I guess he had gotten what I sent him to get.

"Here, Master." Lyall handed the bundle of papers.

"Great work," I smiled as I looked through the papers and my eyebrows jumped as I read the contents.

"Quite a list."

"Kyrell said there was additional information that he found and added here which could be helpful."

I chuckled, "He’s good at his work."

Lyall stood silent as I read through the entire bundle of the papers and couldn’t help but feel as though I had suddenly gotten the lifelines of not one or two but various people in my hands.

"I’m impressed, Kyrell is useful. I might as well station him as Davian’s shadow when I’m gone."

Lyall looked at expectantly and I smiled.

"Of course, you’re quite good at your work too, I’m at ease when I have you around. So, for now, go and rest. I’ll do the rest of the work."

Lyall bowed before he left the room and I closed and locked the door before going back to my Reina’s form. I tied the bandage over my eyes again after activating the Mana Eyes and grabbed the invisibility brooch before I leapt out of the window.

There were guards around the place just as Davian had ordered them but what he didn’t know that the intruder or rather the ghost could fly so, his preparations were useless.

I landed on the balcony and banged on the windows making the one who was sitting inside stir and look at the window.

I banged again making the person rise and stumble towards the window.

"Who the devil is it?" He demanded in a groggy voice.

Marquis Roderick Thompson’s face had gone red with the amount of wine in his system and even his feet were staggering. I could only imagine how comical his face would get when he realises what was happening.

"Roderick." I called making him scowl.

"Who the hell dares call by my na?" He shouted and opened the doors.

I drifted back and stood on the balcony railing.

"Roderick." I called again and he looked around with dazed eyes.

"Who is it?" He shouted and then paused.

"Hah! It’s you, isn’t it? That damned magician! I know it is you, how dare you try to use such cheap trick with ?!"

I laughed and it angered Roderick even more.

"You sneaky little runt! You dare laugh. Co out of hiding you little fraudster, I’ll teach you a good lesson!"

"Will you now?" I asked.

"I surely will! Co out of the hiding, you dirty little-"

"I’m right here, Roderick." I turned the invisibility off and stood in front of him on the railing.

"Yes, right there-"

He stopped mid-sentence as he stared at , his dazed and bloodshot eyes slowly focused on and I smiled.

"What were you going to teach , Roderick?" I asked.

His Adam’s apple bobbed as he gulped and took one step back.

"Yo-You..."

"Do I... look like the Magician?" I asked.

"You are..."

"I have a gift for you."

I threw a piece of paper at him and he stumbled back inside his room falling on his butt.

"Why are you running away now? You are courageous enough to plot against His Grace Alarice and even the present Grand Duke then... why are you scared of ?" I asked.

Roderick’s eyes grew so wide that it seed as if they would pop out of their sockets.

"You! What do you know?!" He shouted.

"I know that your destruction has started." I grinned.

"What?!" I leaned back as what I had to do was done.

"Stop!" He ran to but before he could grab I activated the invisibility spell again along with my wings and soared into the air.

I went straight to my room, pulled off the bandage from my eyes and wore the blue earstud again. I hid the papers that Lyall had got and within another minute, soone was banging on my door.

I leisurely walked over and opened the door watching Roderick himself present there looking bewildered and harried.

"You- You are here!" He gasped as he saw .

I feigned a yawn and then turned to look at the clock in my room.

"It’s past midnight, Lord Thompson, where else would I be if not in my room?"

"In my room!" Roderick shouted.

"What?"

"You were there, weren’t you?!"

"Why would I be-" I leaned ahead and sniffed making a face as he reeked of alcohol.

"Lord Thompson, are you drunk?"

"I’m not! You... You sent that ghost to my room, didn’t you?"

I stared at him as any person with common sense would look at an idiot.

"I’m a simple Mage, Lord Thompson, I’m not a necromancer to order ghosts around."

Ordering ghosts around sounded cool but I knew better than to ss with them.

I rolled my eyes trying not to laugh as his face which earlier was red was now ashy pale.

"Then who was she?!" He shouted again.

"Who? And why are you asking ?"

"That girl! That white haired girl with no eyes, you sent her, didn’t you?"

"White haired girl with no eyes? You an the ghost that Lady Charlotte saw the other night?"

"Yes! Did you send her?"

"What? No! Are you serious?" I shook my head.

"It must be you! Who else would dare to threaten ?"

"Threaten you?"

"Yes! You were the one who sent this to , right?"

"Sent what?" I asked crossing my arms at my chest as I leaned my shoulder against the doorsill.

"This!" He waved the paper that I’d thrown at him a few minutes ago in my face.

"What’s this?" I asked as I reached out to take it but he snatched it back.

"You don’t know?"

"How would I know? I was sleeping."

"Is sothing wrong?" The guards who were out gathered around us.

"Yes, it seems like Lord Thompson is drunk and requires to be escorted back to his room." I said as I feigned another yawn.

"My Lord, please let us return to your chambers."

Roderick stared at ignoring the guards as I ran my hand through my hair.

"What now? You want to co and investigate that ghost for you?" I asked and the guards exchanged a look.

"Ghost?"

"Did My Lord see the ghost too?"

"What? No!" Roderick shouted hiding the paper in his robe.

"But you just-"

"It must be a bad dream!" Roderick shouted before I could ntion the ghost.

"A bad dream?"

"Yes, I... must have had a bad dream that’s why I ca here. I’m sorry for disturbing your sleep, Sir Mage. I-I shall return to my chambers."

Roderick turned and started walking back.

I and the guards exchanged a glance before one of them leaned over to .

"Sir Ocean, did he see that white haired girl’s ghost too?" He asked.

"Apparently." I answered.

"Holy Smokes! So there is a ghost in the castle?"

"Don’t know, I never saw one since I ca here, maybe that ghost ca with Lord Thompson."

"Wah! It’s scary!"

"I know, right? Be careful on your guard duty." I smiled.

"I won’t ever take a night duty again!"

"Let’s go."

"Good night, Sir Ocean."

"Good night."

The guards left and I went to bed, I had planted the seeds now I just had to wait a little to see them grow.

The next day, Roderick Thompson and his daughter Charlotte left the castle in a hurry. They never gave a clear reason for their sudden departure but everyone in the Montaire household released a collective breath of relief.

"And they’re gone." I concluded as I saw the carriage riding out of the gates through the window of the castle.

I had worked a lot while they were around but I still had more to do.

"Ah, work never ends." I groaned and turned to see Ethan there.

He still hadn’t talked to after his explosion from when I gave Grand Duchess’s room to Charlotte. He ignored and walked past making shake my head.

"Are you happy now that they’re gone?" I asked.

His footsteps halted.

"As if you did sothing to make them leave, don’t try to act all mighty when you did absolutely nothing!"

I chuckled, "I guess I should make her visit you tonight then."

"Visit who?"

I turned and looked at Ethan before giving him a smile. He stared at for a mont before his eyes went wide as realisation settled in.

"Wait- You an- That... That ghost was yours!" He squeaked and I tilted my head to one side.

"It wasn’t a ghost as such, Lord Ethan. It was a hallucination."

"Hallucination?"

"Yes, I created that hallucination to drive Lady Charlotte out of Lady Dahlia’s room and also made sure that she never set a foot there again and also for Lord Thompson since he wouldn’t stop harrassing His Grace."

Ethan’s jaw sat comfortably on the ground as I explained and he shook his head coming back to his senses before he stomped over to .

"So, you did it all on purpose?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Hm? You asked to stay back and suffer by your side, didn’t you?" Ethan blinked and looked a little confused.

I smiled, "I’m sorry but I don’t like suffering, so, I removed the cause of the discomfort."

Ethan stared at for a mont before he smiled running his hand over his face.

"Well, now that I’ve solved the problem I hope you won’t act salty around ."

Ethan chuckled, "I’m sorry, I misunderstood you."

"It’s fine, but now that I’ve solved your problem, it’s ti that you pay back for it."

Ethan’s smile froze making grin.
