Now reading: Chapter 1018: Xin Family (6) from The Kitty Became a Cutie and Was Pampered in the 80s, a Romance novel by Kakaer.

Xu Miao felt deeply wronged, and utterly misunderstood.

This matter really couldn’t be blad on her. It was clearly Miss Xin who wanted to go out for a walk, and it was also clearly her own decision to jump into the river. How could it be pinned on her?

"You have no ground for excuses in this matter. If you want to stay here, imdiately get on your knees!" Feng Yue’s voice was hoarse, carrying a mix of frustration and disappointnt.

She, of course, knew her daughter was innocent in this. But in the eyes of the Xin Family, failing to keep watch properly ant it was the servant’s fault!

What’s more, Xu Miao’s primary responsibility was to take care of Xin Miao. Now that things had turned out this way, how could the Xin Family not be angry? Who knows, the hard-to-get job they finally secured might just slip away like this.

Feng Yue wasn’t concerned about the job itself, but rather the benefits and endless opportunities that ca with it.

Her daughter was good-looking and at a marriageable age. Working as a servant in a grand estate like this, they didn’t expect to marry into high society, but at least a decent match should still be within reach.

When that ti ca, she could rely on her daughter for support instead of constantly dealing with n and surviving by flaunting her charm.

"I..." Xu Miao, at a young age where vanity and pride were important to her, was really unwilling to kneel in front of so many people. Her eyes brimd with tears as she looked at Feng Yue.

Feng Yue didn’t care whether she was willing or not. She viciously pinched her waist, and when Xu Miao cried out in pain, she directly forced her onto her knees.

She also knew that the Xin Family had no ti to deal with them at the mont, nor did she intend to disturb them. She just made Xu Miao kneel in a spot visible to the Xin Family mbers.

At this mont, the Xin Family indeed had no ti to bother with them.

As soon as the doctors treating Xin Miao ca out, Xin Madam imdiately approached them. "Dr. Qin, how is my daughter?"

"Miss Xin has woken up, but..." Dr. Qin’s eyes flickered as he gave Xin Bo a aningful look. Xin Bo instantly understood, patted Xin Madam on the shoulder, and softly reassured her, "You go check on our daughter first. I’ll have a quick word with the doctor."

Xin Madam, worried about her daughter, had no ti for anything else. After nodding slightly at Dr. Qin, she hurried into the room.

anwhile, Xin Bo and Dr. Qin went to the second-floor window for a private conversation. Dr. Qin had been the Xin Family’s personal doctor for many years and had a relatively good understanding of Miss Xin’s condition.

Like many others before, he once thought that Miss Xin’s ntal condition was caused by that high fever years ago. But during a recent training session, he learned that there was an illness in this world called psychological disorders.

And he felt that Xin Miao’s current symptoms seed very much like one of those psychological disorders.

He delicately ntioned to Xin Bo, "I don’t know if Mr. Xin has heard of a ntal illness, sothing called schizophrenia or sothing similar."

"Schizophrenia?" Xin Bo frowned, his face already darkening, because he knew there were people gossiping behind their backs, calling his daughter a lunatic, a madwoman.

Dr. Qin could tell he was misunderstanding and quickly explained, "Please don’t misunderstand, Mr. Xin. This is a psychological illness. A person can develop several different personalities. I suspect this might be the situation Miss Xin is facing now."

Dr. Qin was a traditional physician who had never ventured into the field of psychology. It was only during his recent studies that he beca aware of this kind of illness. However, while he could treat physical ailnts, he was completely clueless about psychological conditions. Seeing that Xin Bo remained silent, he added, "If Mr. Xin trusts , I can help recomnd a psychologist to take a look at Miss Xin."
