Of course, when Jiaojiao went out, Xiu Xi naturally tagged along. So, the three of them—a big one and two small ones—headed out together for the blind date.
A few days ago, Jiaojiao had already heard from Old Shu about Qian Qian, the daughter of Old Qian. She had graduated from Qing University three years ago, and was reputed to be an exceptional student. Now twenty-four, she was only a year younger than her uncle. Lightly patting Jiaojiao’s head, he motioned toward Qian Qian’s direction. Jiaojiao instantly nodded, then pulled Xiu Xi along to the adjacent table by the window and sat down.
Qian Qian was radiant, the sa kind of striking beauty as Shu Wen—one of those fiery, magnetic sorts. Definitely soone at the forefront of modern fashion. Just her earrings alone stood out, with several piercings lined up along her ears, each carrying large, bold hoops. Jiaojiao couldn’t help but wonder if they’d jingle lodiously if her ears so much as twitched.
Noticing the arrival of soone beside her, Qian Qian glanced her way. First, her eyes landed briefly on Xiu Xi. His green eyes stood out in smaller towns but weren’t quite as striking in Beidu, where foreigners were more common.
Her gaze ultimately settled on Jiaojiao.
At first glance, her lips parted, nearly blurting out, "Nian..." But her eyes locked onto Jiaojiao’s innocent, indifferent gaze, and she abruptly caught herself, realizing she had mistaken her for soone else.
Pressing her lips together, she couldn’t resist taking another few looks at Jiaojiao.
She couldn’t shake how uncannily similar they were.
Jiaojiao heard the incomplete "Nian" and looked at Qian Qian with curiosity, wondering if she had figured out her connection to Shu Lang.
Though suspicious internally, Jiaojiao managed a polite smile toward Qian Qian.
Qian Qian returned the smile, inwardly amused at her own error in judgnt. The girl in front of her was nothing like the one she knew. The Nianian she was acquainted with didn’t have such a vibrant, engaging smile. The girl in front of her was lively, like a little sun, managing to brighten soone’s mood with just one glance.
Lowering her head, Qian Qian sipped her coffee. But when she looked up again, she found her view suddenly shaded by the figure of a man standing before her.
Following the shadow upward with her gaze, she saw a handso, striking young man right in front of her.
The distinguishing trait of the Shu Family was the scholarly aura they carried. They unmistakably bore the stamp of refined tradition, the kind of deanor that left a positive impression on people without fail.
Looking at Shu Lang, Qian Qian set her cup of coffee down and stood up. She extended her hand with a brilliant smile. "Hello, I’m Qian Qian."
Shu Lang reached out briefly, brushing her hand before retracting his own within monts. His smile was gentle and composed. "Hello, I’m Shu Lang."
"Please, have a seat. What would you like to drink? The coffee here is quite good," Qian Qian offered enthusiastically.
