Two years ago, a restaurant in the city hired an accountant, a girl who had just graduated from vocational school. She was young, attractive, lively, and had a sweet way of speaking. Because of work, she got a bit close to Ruan Jianmin.
Compared to his brothers, Ruan Jianmin was more educated. He got glasses in recent years, which made him appear cultured and refined. He managed the finances of eight stores, and at thirty-seven, he was at the peak of his attractiveness.
This well-off, good-looking man was sothing that the newly graduated girl couldn’t help but develop feelings for as she saw him every day.
Moreover, a few years ago, Wu Le had quit her job and helped out in the restaurant, spending every day with Ruan Jianmin, leaving no chance for others. But as the restaurant started earning more over the years, she gradually looked down on being a waitress, felt embarrassed, and stopped working there. Instead, she tried to start her own business with the dividends Ruan Jianmin got, even though she was always losing money. However, she didn’t want to give up, leading to a situation where she and Ruan Jianmin were together less often.
This newly graduated girl nad Chen Hong already had so interest in Ruan Jianmin. Seeing that his wife wasn’t around all year, she grew more emboldened.
Flirting and acting coy beca a common thing.
Ruan Jianmin, being a straightforward man, didn’t see through Chen Hong’s intentions since she never made them clear. He thought she was just a young girl being playful and didn’t take it seriously, not knowing that she secretly sched against Wu Le a few tis.
At first, Wu Le didn’t believe it, but as it happened more, she grew suspicious. This morning, she had just returned from the provincial capital and happened to see the two of them sleeping in the sa room, on the sa bed.
She imdiately exploded and demanded that Ruan Jianmin fire her.
At this mont, Chen Hong ca forward with grievances, explaining that she had worked late accounting with Brother Ruan and that by the ti they finished, it was already dawn. She said she intended to sleep in the rest room next door but may have groggily wandered into this room in the middle of the night, insisting there was absolutely nothing between them.
But Wu Le couldn’t accept this. To her, her husband sleeping in the sa room with another woman was betrayal. Angrily, she slapped Chen Hong, who, with an expression of having been deeply wronged, ran out crying.
Ruan Jianmin, though puzzled about how he ended up on the sa bed with Chen Hong, did acknowledge they had worked late into the night. Wu Le, having stord in hitting people and insisting he fire her, made him feel she was being unreasonable. They argued, escalating to the current situation.
The Ruanlin Family listened to Wu Le’s account, rubbed her heaving chest, and turned to Ruan Jianmin, "Fourth son, what do you have to say?"
"Mom, I really have nothing with her. She’s over ten years younger than and could be my daughter. I’m not a pervert, why would anything happen between us?!"
"Then just fire her. If you don’t, it ans you can’t let her go!"
"She didn’t do anything wrong, why should I fire her? Wu Le, can you stop making a fuss!"
"Fuss, fuss, fuss! Am I making a fuss? You clearly can’t let go and feel guilty. You even slept together. Ruan Jianmin, you have no sha! Mom! Did you see that? He’s... Mom? Mom!" Wu Le shouted, asking the Ruanlin Family to stand up for her, only to turn around and find the Ruanlin Family fainted on the sofa.
