The end-of-class bell had rung at so point, but Ruan Jiaojiao didn’t notice, nor did the English teacher. Even the students in the class didn’t rush towards the cafeteria as they usually did; instead, they stood by the door, listening intently.
The scene turned into sothing eerie, as the students from Class 2 didn’t move. Instead, they gathered around the classroom door and windows to listen to Ruan Jiaojiao read the text. This made the students from the neighboring Class 1 wonder what was happening. The students who had rushed to the door also stopped in their tracks, instinctively slowing down, and then they heard Ruan Jiaojiao reciting the text.
On the other side of the staircase was Class 3. A few boys had rushed out, laughing and joking, but when they reached the staircase, they saw the students from the two classes across were standing still, as if frozen. This unknown psychological influence made them instinctively stop as well.
Class 4 was behind Class 3, and since the students from Class 3 didn’t move, neither did they.
So in the end, those at the front were all listening to Ruan Jiaojiao read, and not a single person descended the stairs, while those at the back were utterly confused, having no idea what was going on in front.
It wasn’t until Ruan Jiaojiao finished reading that she realized so many classmates had gathered around her. She was instantly stunned. Xu Jie’s voice was so loud that the whole class heard it. Now, no matter what anyone was doing, all eyes turned that way.
Ruan Jiaojiao also looked over, seeing Xu Jie with a nearly undisguised expression of disgust on his face, while Yang Xiaona stood frozen, her face completely red.
