But even as he spoke, he didn’t glance at Jiaojiao at all. After finishing, he looked at the woman standing beside him, and attempted to diate by saying, “You don’t know, senior, Zuya is afraid of these furry animals. How about putting it in the back? I’ll hold it for you.”
“No need.” Ruan Hao scratched Jiaojiao’s chin, took the coat and the small bag from the passenger seat, and as Ye Zuya, despite being a bit dissatisfied, bent down to get in, he said to one of the guys about to get into the back seat, “Yi Xin, you sit in the front.”
“Huh?” The boy nad Yi Xin was just bending down to sit in the back, but paused in surprise upon hearing this, then looked up at Ye Zuya in front, and sure enough, her face was dark with displeasure. Startled, he instinctively wanted to refuse, but when he turned and saw Ruan Hao smiling at him,
although the smile looked as usual, it sent shivers down his spine. Weighing his options, he finally chose to sit in the front passenger seat, enduring Ye Zuya’s almost murderous gaze. After sitting down, his entire body trembled slightly when it bumped into the car door suddenly with Zuya’s entrance.
The backseat could accommodate three people, but Ye Zuya didn’t get in the car. After Yi Xin took the front passenger seat, she turned and went to the bus stop instead.
Ruan Hao didn’t try to stop her. Once the two guys sat in the back seat, he drove off, leaving Ye Zuya stamping her feet angrily at the bus stop.
Jiaojiao stood on Ruan Hao’s thigh, with her front paws on the seatback, craning her neck to look backward, and witnessed this scene, unable to help but shake her little head sympathetically.
Oh dear, how pitiful.
“Alright, sit properly, or you might fall later.” Ruan Hao held the steering wheel with one hand, and pulled her small body back in, placing it securely on his lap.
“Senior, how about I hold her? It’s not easy for you to drive like this,” Yi Xin suggested kindly from the side.
“No worries, she’s not used to being held by others,” Ruan Hao refused with a faint smile. His gentle deanor made it hard for anyone to tell he had just been displeased.
The three guys exchanged glances silently upon hearing this. It seed the rumors were completely untrustworthy. The senior’s attitude didn’t convey any signs of liking Ye Zuya at all.
Ye Zuya was their advisor’s daughter, beautiful, with great academic performance. Ever since the start of college, she had been the departnt’s beauty. Moreover, she ca from a good family background, with both parents being professors. Despite a sowhat arrogant personality, she had many admirers.
Ruan Hao had graduated and gone abroad half a year ago, but later returned. Many had rumored it was because of Ye Zuya. Quite a few people had asked Ye Zuya about it, and she never denied it. Coupled with the fact that they were often seen together, slowly everyone assud it was true.
They hadn’t expected to witness such a scene today. It was as if they had discovered a huge secret, and the few guys remained particularly quiet all the way.
Only Jiaojiao’s gaze was gossiping around Ruan Hao.
Her feelings were indeed a bit complex, unexpectedly discovering her family’s ‘pigs’ had reached the age of rooting around for ‘little cabbages’.
“What are you looking at? Sit tight.” Noticing Jiaojiao’s curious gaze, Ruan Hao looked ahead and gently patted her small head with a particularly tender motion.
