atball sniffed the milky scent wafting to his nose and couldn’t help but snort loudly, once again thinking that this aroma was indeed quite nice.
The Ruan Family villa is quite large, with a vegetable garden where atball usually goes directly to take care of his business. Today was no exception.
He carried the Little Snow Wolf out, dropped it on the ground, and dashed toward the vegetable garden, first attending to his physiological needs and then racing around the garden several tis, raising his head to howl twice, before finally trudging back with a big furry face covered in frozen whiskers and eyelashes.
Following his usual habit, he first shook his body vigorously outside the door, scattering the snow and water from his coat, then went inside to rub his paws on the dry old clothes specially laid out for him by Mrs. Ruanlin, making sure he was mostly dry before entering.
Inside, Mrs. Ruanlin had already placed his large food bowl in the usual spot, and next to it was a small porcelain bowl filled with freshly soaked goat milk.
He stared at the small porcelain bowl, his ears twitching.
That gray little pup still hadn’t co back?!
"atball, it’s you..." Mrs. Ruanlin poked her head out from the kitchen, but before she could finish, she saw atball’s whirlwind dash outside.
Snow had fallen again in Beidu last night, with a thickness reaching up to people’s calves. atball had long legs and could run freely through the snow, but Little Snow Wolf couldn’t; it had short legs and could only burrow a tunnel through the snow. atball only saw the tunnel’s entrance but couldn’t see where it led, anxiously howling straight in the yard, hopping through the snow like a frog.
Finally, after jumping twenty or thirty tis, he accidentally stepped on the tunneling Little Snow Wolf, causing it to let out a piercing wail.
"!!!" atball.
He scrambled back in a panic.
This ti, he stepped on it from the tail to the head, causing Little Snow Wolf to cry even more miserably.
"!!!!!!" atball, frozen in terror.
When Ruan Jianguo heard the cries and rushed out, he saw atball with one paw on Little Snow Wolf, who was shrieking on the ground with his head under atball’s paw, while atball himself looked terrified.

"atball, if you don’t let go, your wife will be squashed to death by you." Ruan Jianguo said helplessly.
atball hurriedly lifted his paw, but in his flustered state, stepped on Little Snow Wolf once more.
Looking at the almost lifeless and barely surviving Little Snow Wolf, Ruan Jianguo could only pick him up, shake off the snow, and bring him back inside.
Though Little Snow Wolf let out a miserable cry, it wasn’t actually hurt. Slling the goat milk inside, he sniffed his way over and buried his head into the bowl to drink.
atball, feeling dejected, followed over and watched him for a while. Perhaps out of guilt or embarrassnt, he didn’t have much appetite today, finishing just one bowl of breakfast without asking for a second, instead resting his head on his paws, his eyes shifting as Little Snow Wolf moved around.
Mrs. Ruanlin, after preparing breakfast, began tidying up, and throughout this process, the satiated Little Snow Wolf followed her, a chubby little ball trailing behind her heels, occasionally tripping himself but, despite nurous falls, persistently shadowing Mrs. Ruanlin wherever she walked.
Watching him like this, Mrs. Ruanlin couldn’t help but think of how Ruan Jiaojiao used to be when she was a cat.
