Upon arriving at the hotel, Jiaojiao took a shower and comfortably lay down. The next morning, before she was even awake, Duan Xi ca to her room to call her up.
Jiaojiao hadn’t rested well on the train for two days. Although she slept early last night, she still felt she hadn’t slept enough. Hearing the knock on the door, she didn’t want to get up, turned over on the bed, drowsily shouted towards the door a couple of tis, not caring whether the person outside could hear, and then closed her eyes again to continue sleeping.
She didn’t know how long she slept for. When she opened her eyes again, she saw Duan Xi sitting by the bedside watching her, his gaze was direct and fixed, and his face was getting closer.
She was startled, clutching the bed covers to her chest as she looked at him, "Brother Xi, why are you sitting here?"
She glanced around and noticed the blazing sunshine outside the half-open window. She imdiately lifted her hand to look at her watch and found it was already almost eleven o’clock!
Jiaojiao was astonished and sat up in a fright, asking Duan Xi, "Brother Xi, it’s so late, why didn’t you call ?"
But Duan Xi didn’t respond. Jiaojiao looked up confusedly, only to see Duan Xi staring at her, his gaze fixated on her chest. Suspiciously, she looked down... and instantly blushed, hurriedly covering her slightly cool chest and shyly exclaid, "Brother Xi!"
Duan Xi snapped out of it, his face also a bit flushed. He quickly stood up, awkwardly looked away, and in his nervousness accidentally bumped his thigh against the chair behind him.
He dared not look rudely at Jiaojiao again, with his ears turning red, he gazed out the window and said in a hoarse voice, "I’ll wait for you outside." After saying this, he imdiately left the room.
At that mont outside, soone was pushing a small cart down the corridor. As they passed by Duan Xi’s side, they glanced at him, catching sight of Duan Xi’s slightly red face, causing them to montarily pause.
Duan Xi sensed the gaze of the passerby and sharply glanced over.
Wa Yiting almost imdiately bowed her head, swiftly pushing the cart forward, not daring to look back.
She didn’t know if Duan Xi recognized her, but she recognized him. In fact, she already knew they were coming since yesterday because the hotel lobby manager had held a eting, instructing them to diligently perform their duties.
Wa Yiting thought she had long accepted her identity over these years, but upon learning of their arrival yesterday, she couldn’t help but feel stirred. Although today she was supposed to work the early shift, she deliberately switched to the late shift, thinking that by the ti she ca again, Jiaojiao and her group would have left. Little did she know that Jiaojiao’s late sleeping had delayed their departure until the evening.
Wa Yiting didn’t know with what kind of mood she was awaiting behind the door of a guest room.
About fifteen minutes later, Jiaojiao finally ca out of the room. Everything seed normal, but upon opening the door and seeing Duan Xi outside, her cheeks couldn’t help but redden again.
Though over the years she had been living under the sa roof with Duan Xi, and the two were almost inseparable, as they grew older, the Ruan Family watched over them more closely. Jiaojiao, following Shu Jiao’s advice, had also been more mindful, usually trying to be properly dressed in his presence.
But who knew Duan Xi would appear directly in her room today just as she woke up, wearing silk pajamas? Having slept all night, the neckline of the pajamas was already skewed, exposing her chest...
