However, the Yuan Family had indeed been good to her over the years, and it wasn’t possible for her to cut ties so abruptly. When the driver ca to pick her up, she could only follow along, thankfully Xiu Xi was going with her this ti.
After the last incident, Xiu Xi seed to really dislike the Yuan Family. His expression had been rather foul since they got in the car.
Ruan Jiaojiao quietly took his hand, and only then did his expression soften slightly.
The carriage stopped inside the Yuan Family’s courtyard. As always, Nanny Liu was waiting outside, but before she could reach out to open the door, Xiu Xi had already alighted and rushed over, opening the door himself and then leading Ruan Jiaojiao out.
Nanny Liu’s face changed color, but she quickly regained her composure.

Ruan Jiaojiao nodded, gave her another look, and wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she felt that Nanny Liu’s tone when speaking to her had changed, now more friendly and respectful than before.
Moreover, she used to address her as Miss JiaoJiao, not simply Miss.

The old lady of the Yuan Family was sitting on the living room sofa, with an album spread on her lap. Seeing her co in, she imdiately smiled and waved, “Jiaojiao, co here. Granny has sothing wonderful to show you today.”
“Granny,” Ruan Jiaojiao called out, then approached, while Xiu Xi scanned the room and twitched his nose, his gaze becoming deeper.
“Take a look, pick whatever you like. Granny will give them to you to serve as your dowry,” the old lady of the Yuan Family said while passing the album over to her.
Ruan Jiaojiao was taken aback when she saw it and declined, “Granny, this is too valuable. I can’t accept it.”
The old lady had shown her an album full of jewelry photos. Even though Ruan Jiaojiao wasn’t knowledgeable about jewelry, she could tell that these were all quite expensive.
Over the years, the Yuan Family had indeed treated her very well, but their generosity had always been reflected in day-to-day life.
Like buying her many snacks to eat, clothes, shoes, and the like, they had never given her anything so luxurious.
“It’s not valuable. They are just things we have at ho lying unused. Just pick anything, Jiaojiao, they will serve as Granny’s dowry for you. Granny is afraid she won’t live until that day, it’s better to give it to you earlier to put my mind at ease,” the old lady of the Yuan Family said with a smile, flipping through the album herself and introducing the items one by one.
