The chanical Research Institute is a comparatively young organization within Trolian, primarily studying items brought back from ruins or relics, which are typically creations from human civilizations of the previous epoch, or even before that.
After mastering a considerable amount of knowledge, they began to manufacture high-end, advanced Spiritual Energy artifacts.
However, among the many academies, organizations, and institutions within Trolian, it still wasn’t very noticeable.
That changed three hundred years ago when there erged a genius of the ages whom later generations revered as Master Gehrman.
He summarized the experiences of his predecessors, creating a correct path for researching and analyzing Spiritual Energy and souls. With his superhuman talent, he transford Ancient Relics, and produced the Soul Material Panel which could precisely determine Characteristics, significantly improving Trolian’s complicated and inaccurate trait testing processes, and incidentally, he smashed the faces of all the dissenters.
Since then, the chanical Research Institute skyrocketed to prominence.
Today, the chanical Research Institute has beco Trolian’s largest experintal base, the most advanced manufacturing workshop, and the forefront of theoretical research.
Unlike the Jinworth Academy, which only conducts theoretical research, it’s the real deal.
For ordinary people who cannot ignite the Soul Fire, the chanical Research Institute has beco one of the most coveted places to be, with academia and knowledge being their weapons in the absence of Characteristics and Spiritual Energy.
However, as the research deepened, the chanical Research Institute began to appear bizarre in the eyes of most people, gradually becoming a gathering place for madn and lunatics.
Many believe that if it weren’t still performing many important functions, it might have been dissolved long ago.
Their collaboration with Jinworth Academy is one of its most crucial functions.
The chanical Research Institute has several large research facilities within the academy, and the Spiritual Power Laboratory is one of them. It’s one of the very few workshops that can analyze souls and energy with relative accuracy.
Rod was the first subject to be analyzed today, and he stepped into the grand doors of the Spiritual Power Laboratory on ti to et the special-hire researcher and his ntor, the kind-hearted big sister Mina.
Since Rod beca a special student, the "Special Student Affairs Departnt" arranged training courses all under her charge.
The curriculum was very simple: it was all about shooting guns.
To be fair, Mina was indeed excellent. Under her guidance, Rod’s gun-shooting skills beca exquisite. Whether it was rapid fire or slow fire, light shoot or heavy shoot, each shot was precise, hitting the bullseye every ti.
However, due to the one-on-one private lessons, Rod had not had much contact with other special students up to this point.
"You look like you didn’t sleep well. Didn’t I tell you to rest properly?"
Upon his arrival, Mina, with her sweet voice, brown long hair, and ample bosom, asked sowhat displeased.
Rod smiled and said, "Sorry, I was studying all night, imrsed in the world of knowledge, and totally forgot the ti."
Mina’s expression softened a bit.
For her, knowledge is power and life. Rod had a respect and passion for knowledge unlike most other Fire Holders.
This was what she was most satisfied with, which was why she tried so hard to help him master gun-shooting.
"Learning is definitely important, but you must also consider the timing."
Although it was a rebuke, her tone had already softened as Mina took Rod’s hand and walked inside, muttering as they went.
"Today’s test is very important. The Spiritual Power Laboratory is extrely busy, and they won’t be running a second test for a long ti to co. If you want to change the Fire Spark’s na, this is your chance... By the way, my teacher, Lord Amides, is very interested in the theory you proposed. Would you like to et him?"
Rod was startled, "What theory?"
"The one where you said my feet weren’t smooth enough."
Rod had almost forgotten about this, and he said with confusion, "Wasn’t I wrong? Sister Mina’s feet are soft, white, fragrant, sweet, and very smooth. The fact that you stop sliding across the floor proves my conventional theory completely bankrupt."
From Rod’s perspective, he could see Mina’s ear tips turning slightly red.
"That... um, my teacher criticized for that."
Mina’s tone was timid and embarrassed for the first ti.
"My teacher gave an example: Rough feet can only slide three steps, smooth feet can slide for thirty steps, and very smooth feet coupled with a very smooth floor can slide for three hundred steps. So, what if it’s infinitely smooth? Wouldn’t that be the inertia you ntioned?"
Rod laughed, "That’s right, your teacher does have so brains... Ouch!"
Mina’s grip tightened, and Rod’s wrist imdiately started to crackle.
She said through gritted teeth, "So, you an to say I have no brains, right? It’s who used violence to force you to change the truth, right?"
"No, no, no, reasonable doubt is part of the truth. Whatever Sister Mina does is right."
"So you agree?"
"I agree."
"Good," Mina said joyfully. "After your test, we’ll go see the teacher. Rod, let tell you, knowledge is the most powerful weapon in this world. You will be awed by my teacher’s profound scholarship."
Within their chatter, they moved through the corridor and arrived in a huge hall.
The place was filled with various instrunts, and large crystals and gemstones were visible everywhere.
The entire floor of the hall was made of True Silver, and you should know, a True Silver Bullet contains less than half a gram of True Silver.
