Now reading: Chapter 243 - 175: One Hundred Years of Solitude from The Last King Of Darkness, a Eastern novel by Mountains and rivers have no memory.

Rod rembered clearly that Dean Theodore had imdiately taken him and his trusted aide, along with their spell, to Laisuo City through teleportation.

Laisuo City had been destroyed by unknown monsters, the City Defense Legion wiped out. Dean Theodore had undoubtedly been defeated, yet Rod did not expect to encounter him here.

What surprised Rod, however, was that upon seeing him, a Guard Knight imdiately shouted, "Stay back! It’s dangerous here!"

Dangerous? You underestimate , don’t you?

Although I kept circling around the Black Death Beast, it didn’t an I was afraid of it. It was just that the creature was tough and yielded little benefit, and I wasn’t interested in entangling with it.

The Dean had helped a lot in the past, and it wasn’t overstating to call it a great favor.

Now, it was ti for to help him.

Rod intended to show his skill, swinging his left hand to throw out Flesh Puppets and ten Wood Puppets, and with a swing of his right hand, he sent three bags filled with Thunder Stones into the midst of the monsters.

He drew his Spirit Gun and accurately hit the bags.

Boom!

Sixty Thunder Stones exploded simultaneously, dazzling flowers of Thunder Light blood in the darkness, and wriggling Electric Snakes pierced through the horde.

Eleven streaks of ash flew toward him, capturing eleven "Black Death Beast Souls".

But that was far from enough, as more Black Death Beasts had only been knocked down. The Thunder had pierced their Spiritual Energy, making flaws on their Souls clearly visible.

That was the effect he wanted!

Rod imdiately charged forward and dug in fiercely.

With his Spiritual Power Strength reaching 4,000 units, he could now release a "Soul Blast" in just two seconds.

Killing one Black Death Beast took only four seconds.

But faster than Rod was his summoning.

The Flesh Puppet was a gigantic, three-story tall Puppet with bulging limbs and a bloated body, its surface blood-flesh gray like stone, and its massive fist bore a thick, hard spike.

With a heavy punch, the spike directly penetrated the mouthpiece of a Black Death Beast, bursting it open.

Although the Wood Puppets had weak attack power, their branches could endlessly extend, firmly binding the Black Death Beasts for slaughter.

Under such a ferocious assault, the monster group was quickly annihilated.

Rod smiled as he approached, "The danger is cleared."

But the expressions of the Guard Knights were somber, and they were not happy. One sighed, "Comrade, I’m sorry to have pulled you into this."

By now, Rod also noticed sothing was off; all their bodies were covered in a dim gray light, swirling like smoke.

A wisp of smoke drifted out and tethered itself to him.

And at the center of the smoke was Theodore.

"What is this gray light?"

A Guard Knight asked in surprise, "You can see it?"

"Yes, a wisp of it has already clung to ."

The Guard Knight’s eyes brightened briefly, but then dimd again.

"This is a Group Teleportation Technique, a spell from Master Theodore, but it was cursed by the Snake Demon, turning into a malicious, chaotic teleportation. Every so often, we are randomly transported to dangerous locations. You killed the monsters, but our next teleportation could be more dangerous than now."

Rod frowned and said, "Isn’t there a way to lift it?"

"Perhaps Master Theodore could, but he has been cursed by the Snake Demon and corroded by toxins, leaving him unconscious."

A thought suddenly struck Rod; he rembered he had an item that could purify any toxin—"Goddess’ Tears."

It was worth a try.

Rod slipped his hands into his sleeves and withdrew the Goddess’ Tears from the Dream Realm as quickly as possible.

"This is a Spiritual dicine that can cure toxins. Master Theodore should recover after consuming it."

The Guard Knight eyed the perfectly shaped tear drop in Rod’s hand and asked hesitantly, "What is this Spiritual dicine called? Is it a product of the Byron Alchemy Pharmaceutical Factory, or was it created by a Master?"

"Uh, it’s called Goddess’ Tears, crafted by a Master who prefers to remain anonymous."

The Guard Knight shook his head, "I’m sorry, but I cannot let Master Theodore consu a Spiritual dicine of unknown origin."

Rod frowned and asked, "Don’t you recognize ? Do you know who I am?"

The Guard Knights scrutinized him closely.

"Black Bottomless Pit!"

A knight suddenly exclaid.

"You are the Black Bottomless Pit! Captain, trust him, he is the King of the Sewers, the one who killed Gregor in public! The Dean gave him all his Soul Creations!"

Damn it!

Once I have the power, I’ll make sure to change Black Bottomless Pit to Grandpa, so that you all will have to call Grandpa when you see .

Rod gnashed his teeth thinking.

The Knight Captain was silent for a few seconds, then answered, "Okay."

Rod carefully fed the Goddess’ Tears to the Dean.

The effect was imdiate; the next mont, the dark energy on Theodore’s face significantly reduced, and blue venom seeped from his fingertips, falling to the ground and evaporating in a puff of white smoke.

However, the gray fog did not dissipate, and Theodore did not awaken.

Rod frowned, Goddess’ Tears couldn’t break the curse.

The Guard Knights were weeping with joy, and the Captain was all smiles,

"The corruption has been lifted, the Dean will wake up soon."

"As soon as the Dean wakes up, we can lift this cursed spell."

Looking at their bloodied appearances, Rod took out many potions from his sleeve.

These had been transported from the treasury of a very benevolent person.

After a prolonged and harsh battle, the knights had run out of potions, and now it was like rain after a long drought; everyone was smiling broadly.

The Captain remarked, "Black Bucket, after we return, we must report this to the Royal City Council and have your title engraved on the Mountain of Glory."

"Won’t using my na be okay?"

Rod handed a bottle of Blood Elent to a knight covered in wounds.

The Captain seriously said, "Little Rod, only a title can truly show respect. Rember, if you ever want to show respect to soone, you should use the title that best represents their proudest feature, such as, Dean His Excellency being the strongest spell caster."

Another knight added, "That’s right, the Fire Spark Characteristic ’Black Bucket’ is unique to you, and we could also call you ’the strongest Bucket’."

Enough already!

Rod didn’t want to discuss this matter any further, but the other knights kept adding to the conversation.

"Little Rod, your construct is so strong!"

"This puppet’s strength is high, it must be Third Level, right?"

"How co I’ve never seen this type of construct— which Master made it?"

The knights sighed in amazent while quickly taking potions and treating their wounds.

The interval between teleports was irregular, but it wouldn’t be long; they had no ti to escape.

The twisted spell was infectious, affecting nearby people and objects, potentially triggering a greater disaster.

"So, we only sent out a distress signal, but due to the unpredictability of teleportation, no support has arrived yet,"

the Knight Captain shared.

Rod asked, "What exactly happened in Laisuo City?"

The Knight Captain’s face darkened.

"It was the Abyss Giant Snake, an incredibly powerful abyssal creature that awoke from its slumber and suddenly attacked Laisuo City."

A knight clenched his teeth and said, "Had it not been so, the Investigation Legion would have spotted it earlier, and we wouldn’t have been caught off guard."

"Theodore His Excellency did everything he could to stop the snake, but with the Guardian Fire in Laisuo City extinguished, failure was inevitable."

"And the snake?" Rod asked.

"Injured by Theodore His Excellency, it likely retreated back into the Abyss."

"The Abyss is... what?"

"The Abyss is the dark side of the universe, the origin of all darkness and fear. So scholars believe that the initial Black Fog was born from the Abyss."

Rod furrowed his brow; he had seen the sa words in the souls of the Abyss Demon and the Dark Snake Demon:

[The Abyss Demon/Dark Snake Demon is an anomalous demon born from the Abyss Attribute, but the shattered Abyss significantly weakened its strength.]

And the Abyss Giant Snake seed like an even more powerful version of the Dark Snake Demon; he wondered if it was affected.

If he could find the soul of this wounded giant snake, wouldn’t that be a stroke of luck?

The Knight Captain said gravely, "Our situation is very bad. Lord Alan is fighting alone at the Iron Armor Fortress, Laisuo City has fallen, and the long-stirred Abyss seems to be spreading upward, devouring our world. We encounter demons infected by the Abyss everywhere—if we don’t suppress this imdiately, the entire defensive circle of Trolian will be destroyed."

Rod’s expression darkened.

Trolian was his only refuge for now, and both emotionally and rationally, he couldn’t let humanity’s fla be extinguished.

"What should we do?"

The Knight Captain said, "We’ve already relayed the information back to the Royal City. The King and Lord Dalin will definitely respond—please trust them."

"Right."

Another knight said,

"For now, we just need to ensure the safety of Theodore His Excellency, his power will help us survive this ordeal."

"Indeed, Theodore His Excellency was once one of the eleven Special Level Combatants, and although he retired a hundred years ago, he remains one of our strongest forces."

Rod’s jaw nearly dropped. Soone could retire for a hundred years? Isn’t your pension system exploding?

And what unsettled him was that a man retired for a hundred years was still fighting on the front lines.

What did that imply?

Half an hour later, the Knight Captain suddenly shouted, "Here they co! Everyone, prepare for battle!"

The knights imdiately drew their weapons and ford a battle formation.

Summoned creatures also gathered around.

In Rod’s view, the gray fog lit up, everything before his eyes turned blurry, and a brief sensation of weightlessness flashed by.

Rod’s figure swayed, and when his feet hit the ground again, everything in front of him had changed.
