At this ti, the warriors were battling against a tide-like swarm of Insect n.
These monsters resembled giant lizards with human heads, large tails, and four human-like legs.
At first glance, they were utterly terrifying.
They moved very swiftly, undiminished even under the firelight. Sparks often ignited on their thick skins but were quickly extinguished, and their leg mbranes allowed them to fly. A dark brown glow surrounded them, continually eroding the Spiritual Energy of the humans they fought.
As more Insect n arrived, the battle intensified.
Behind the warriors was the Guardian Fire Sacrificial Ground; they could retreat no further.
Dean Vera, as the only Spell Master, was the absolute core of the battle, exerting his utmost to support the fight with spells, but all his powerful spells seed futile against their sheer number.
The warriors were nearly overwheld by the swarm.
Vera witnessed a squad being dispersed as a trainee was toppled by an Insect Man. In the blink of an eye, more of the creatures covered him.
A surge of intense pain struck him as he fired off Spirit Light Arrows that scattered the Insect n.
The fallen trainee was saved, and, covered in blood, he got up to continue the fight, but more squads fell into crisis.
Vera was overwheld, too late to save others, and the collapse of their formation beca more apparent, despair shrouding his heart like a shadow.
Suddenly, a spell backfired, and the rebound of Spiritual Energy made him stagger a few steps, nearly falling.
"I am too weak!"
With trembling hands, Vera punched himself in the face, even breaking his teeth, but still, he could not gather his Spiritual Energy again.
"Why am I so weak! These things...these things the Dean could do with just a flick of his finger..."
Suddenly, a voice ca from behind.
"Young Vera, don’t panic, a chaotic heart will diminish the power of your spells."
"Dean!"
Elated, Vera turned around, only to see Rod’s face.
He suddenly awoke from his illusion, a profound sense of loss surging over him, but he imdiately shook off the feeling and returned to his stern Dean deanor.
"Why are you here? Where have you been since the Giant Stone Lighthouse fell? Don’t you know the combat regulations?"
He pushed Rod away.
"This place is dangerous, it’s not where you should be, get out!"
He tried to gather his Spiritual Energy again, but an invisible wave disrupted it.
"Young Vera," Rod said gently, "Spells aren’t used like that."
Vera turned in astonishnt, only then noticing that Rod was dressed in the sa long robe as the Dean, holding an identical magic wand.
The magic wand surged with Spiritual Energy, clearly brewing a powerful spell.
"You... You have the Dean’s Soul Ripple? Has the Dean split his soul?"
Overwheld with joy and a sense of inadequacy, Vera didn’t know what to say.
With a gentle tap of the wand, the fluctuation of Spiritual Energy dispersed, activating the spell.
[Decree: Silence Restriction Order]
The domain unfolded, all sounds were prohibited, and all illegal abilities were restricted.
A new law erged in this space, a law that every existence must follow.
In an instant, all the dark brown glows on the Insect n disappeared, their corrupting Spiritual Light judged illegal!
Vera’s eyes widened: "This...this is an extrely effective Restriction Decree, how much of his soul did the Dean split?"
The battlefield changed suddenly, as the corrupting Spiritual Light greatly restricted the warriors. Without the Spiritual Light, the crawling Insect n were as if they had lost their Needle Armor.
But this was just the beginning.
Soon, the wand flashed again, and a second spell was deployed.
[Decree: Flying Restriction Decree]
The rules of the domain expanded, and a new law erged.
Here, flying is forbidden!
Countless Insect n fell from the sky, unable to move in swarms anymore.
The wand’s glow flashed again, deploying the third spell.
[Gravity Skill]
The agile jumping Insect n were suddenly bound by gravity, whereas the warriors were barely affected, their individual combat abilities far surpassing those of the Insect n, though not in numbers.
The course of battle began to reverse, the clustered Ingroupn n posing no threat.
Rod raised his wand, using the fourth spell.
[Quater Erosion]
A gray glow enveloped the whole area, drastically weakening everyone’s defense capabilities.
But human beings’ natural defense is almost zero, while Insect n almost solely rely on their outer skins.
This was another significant weakening for the Insect n.
While humans were hardly affected.
If assessed by ranking, Insect n were not strong. Their strength derived from their near-indestructible characteristics and their countless numbers.
But when they no longer were indestructible, their numbers ant little.
In the blink of an eye, the course of the battle flipped and beca overwhelmingly one-sided.
The Insect n, once as tough as rocks to deal with, suddenly beca like vegetables and fruits, wildly chopped by the warriors.
Vera could hardly believe his eyes.
These four spells, aside from [Silence Restriction Order], which was a Ninth Level strategic spell, the others were all Fifth Level regular spells.
But no one could achieve the effect seen before him.
"Young Vera,"
Rod said gently:
"Rember, in the process of releasing a spell, sense the spell you are releasing, not the perfect spells I once cast. Those are like thinking about another more perfect lover while you’re on a date. Even if she’s perfect, she doesn’t belong to you, and your current date will be a disaster."
