Now reading: Chapter 552 - 340 The Beginning of a Miracle2 from The Last King Of Darkness, a Eastern novel by Mountains and rivers have no memory.

Humanity once again gained dominion over the Trident River Region, internal threats from the campaign to the west were eliminated, and the Military War Departnt no longer had to worry about pushing the front lines forward, as the hinterlands blossod.

The recently assembled main force quickly disbanded, and the warriors each returned to their battlefields, further alleviating the pressure on Trolian.

Logistics and production personnel entered the Trident River Region in large numbers, beginning work on environntal transformation.

The Life Priest Group also arrived at the riverbank with cuttings of the Holy White Tree, and under the auspices of special sacred rituals, another young Holy White Tree thrived and grew robust, its massive roots extending into the riverbed, purifying the waters.

With clean water sources, there was now a foundation for survival.

Surveyors found that the soil of the Trident River was exceedingly fertile, second only to the Red Soil Plain.

The Council was already discussing making it the second granary.

As Trolian’s population had surged in recent years, the issue of food supply had gradually beco more prominent.

Not just the civilians, but even so Special Level Combatants were unable to receive adequate provisions.

The Council had long been considering establishing new food production sites, but in such a harsh environnt, building a stable source of food was not easy.

——Other than absolute purification of pollution, it also required a stable water source, the shelter of the Holy White Tree, fertile land, and a safe environnt free from threats.

Star Town could only be considered half a granary: the Trident River Region could be the second.

Before the large-scale transformation and new construction work began, the Hall’s warriors, bearing honor, had already returned to the Fire Hall.

The Hall hosted a brief but grand welco banquet for them, where, in the warm and pleasant environnt of the Fireplace Area, lit by the orange glow of the fire, Moonlight Olivia, one of the highest-ranking mbers, personally prepared Soul Soup for them.

As they sipped the delicious and thick soup, all the exhaustion and pain the warriors had suffered over recent days were washed away.

Laughter, cries, and singing filled the Fireplace Area for a ti.

As the greatest hero of the campaign, Rod received an exceptionally enthusiastic reception.

Everyone at the banquet called his na, trying to shake his hand or embrace him.

His heroic deeds were repeatedly extolled, and even Olivia, not often seen doing such things, graciously invited him to dance.

But truth be told, Rod wasn’t too fond of it.

Being one of the four Great Knight Captains and a Special Level Combatant, the perfectly harmonized spirit and flesh granted Olivia an unmatched figure and appearance.

But Rod really didn’t like won who were two heads taller than him; throughout the dance, he felt like a little brother being held in a big sister’s arms.

Though it was comfortable and soft to the touch...it always gave him the feeling of being a marionette.

After the dance ended, Olivia flipped her slender hand, slipping a moonlight-like dagger into his bosom and said with a smile, "Little Rod, I’ve heard of your exploits for a long ti. This is our first formal eting, so take this Moonlight dagger as a gift for our first encounter."

Scratching the back of his head, Rod didn’t know quite what to say.

"Uh... thank you, Big Sister."

Olivia bent down and kissed his forehead.

"Keep it up, little hero of Trolian."

She winked slyly and transford into a stream of pure white moonlight and flew away.

The tender embrace, now gone, unexpectedly left Rod feeling a hint of loss.

Ryan from Green Grass Town saw him standing there in a daze, pulled him aside, and laughed, "What are you thinking about? You’re not still fantasizing about spending a passionate night with Lady Olivia, are you?"

Blushing slightly, Rod quickly denied it, "No!"

Ryan laughed, "Lady Olivia is a Great Knight Captain who stands shoulder to shoulder with the Fire Son. In so respects, she is even not less than the First Knight Alan. We’ve only won a single battle; there are far more dangerous battles out there. It’s because of your face that she made a special trip here; otherwise, we wouldn’t have tasted Moonlight Olivia’s Soul Soup."

"Right, right, right, that’s one of the legendary top Soul Soups."

"That savory and thick soup mixed with the clear, slightly cool moonlight, the stimulation it brought to the taste buds was like it pierced the soul; I’ll never forget it as long as I live."

Licking his lips, Rod also felt the unforgettable taste.

It appeared that cooking Soul Soup here was a skill to take pride in, each person having a unique technique.

Cilly scoffed, "My Soul Soup is pretty good too."

Lannis, "I would love to try your..."

"Get lost!"

Not far away, Frank from Mushroom City was engaging Tyrion in a drinking contest, the forr secretly using his Characteristic to break down the active components of the alcohol, causing the latter to turn beet red and his tongue to swell considerably.

"Co on... I don’t believe I can’t drink you to death!"

The Fireplace Area resounded with lively noises; it was a rare mont of rest. After enduring such a great battle, the Hall would give the warriors ample ti to relax their spirits.

Unless an irrediable crisis arose, they would not be moved to the front of fighting formations at this ti.

Rod also took the rare opportunity to rest for the night, continuous fighting on the edge of life and death had wound his spirit tight like a spring. If wound for too long, it would break. Resting was actually for better fighting.

Tomorrow he would apply for the Spiritual Energy enhancent ritual.

Rod mused to himself.

And the Trident, this ti, the Hall honor dal should suffice.

With it, my Star Shuttle would be even stronger, making slaughtering those monsters all the simpler.

Harboring beautiful dreams, Rod slipped into a deep sleep.
