Now reading: Chapter 598 - 357 Puppet2 from The Last King Of Darkness, a Eastern novel by Mountains and rivers have no memory.

The Book of Knowledge rushed up, frantically slapping the back of its head with its pages, "Why did you wake up? There’s so little Dream Energy left, and you still want to use it? Just let rest, I’m enough here... sob sob sob!"

This ti, the Book of Knowledge failed to knock it out, and the puppet pinched its pages, forcefully closing it.

The Book of Knowledge twisted and struggled wildly, but to no avail.

The puppet placed the book on the ground, knelt on one knee above it, and lowered its head to Rod.

"Great Master of Dreams, I am the Divine Servant Aphro. From now on, I shall serve you..."

Rod scratched his head, sowhat embarrassed, "I think you should let the book go first; it looks about to split..."

The puppet placed one hand on its chest, bowing slightly, "I will obey your command, my master."

It stood up, and the Book of Knowledge chirped and jumped up, its pages flapping wildly at the puppet before it quickly ran to Rod’s feet, frantically writing, "It’s too much! To use as a mat! Unforgivable! Absolutely unforgivable! Master, quickly tear it apart!"

The puppet looked at it expressionlessly, remaining silent.

"Alright, alright."

Rod leaned down and gently caressed the spine of the Book of Knowledge, soothingly saying, "Don’t be angry, don’t be angry, let first figure out what is going on."

He straightened up, coughed, and said, "This, don’t mind asking, but what exactly are you?"

The puppet calmly said, "I am a creation of the Dream Realm, existing by clinging to dreams, having slumbered under the earth due to the loss of Dream Energy. I am your most devoted servant, a guardian belonging to you. My mission is to maintain the dreamscape and help my master to seize more Source."

"Pah!"

The Book of Knowledge flapped its pages violently, large bold letters appeared on its pages like a gale.

"You are not the master’s servant, you wreck; have you lost your mind during your long slumber? How dare you expose the secrets of the Dream Realm! Do you want to kill the master?"

The puppet’s head, made of an unknown material, shifted slightly, and its lifeless eyes glanced at the Book of Knowledge.

"Adorlis, you shouldn’t..."

"Shut up!" the Book of Knowledge furiously wrote, "Don’t call my na."

The puppet paused and then said, "Book of Knowledge, the Dream Realm now has two stars in place, the supply of Source Power has reached 9, and the dreamscape’s barrier is strong enough; we can discuss certain secrets without fearing the reaction of the Source, triggering disasters."

The Book of Knowledge angrily said, "This is all my achievent, and it has nothing to do with you! It was I who insisted on fighting alongside the master, helping him regain so much power."

While they were arguing, suddenly, a continuous vibration transmitted from the Dream Realm, as if an earthquake had occurred.

"What’s going on?"

Rod shouted, noticing several translucent cracks appearing on the edge of the Dream Realm.

The Book of Knowledge wailed, "My protection!"

Several shadows flew past the outskirts of the Dream Realm, casting shadows so clear that even Rod within the Dream Realm could see them.

Rod exclaid, "What is that? Is it a monster attacking us?"

"No," the puppet answered calmly, "we might have entered a Fragnt zone, fragnts of the Spirit Realm are colliding with the Dream Realm’s bubbles."

"Can we avoid it?"

"We can..."

"We can’t!"

The Book of Knowledge shouted, flying into midair.

"This is the shortest path to the Light Country; we must withstand this."

It began concentrating on repairing the dreamscape, rapidly consuming more Souls Without Spirit.

The vibration of the Dream Realm intensified.

The puppet calmly said, "Master, the Dream Realm’s protective barrier is sowhat disturbed, let’s enter the House of God."

House of God?

Rod was just about to ask where the House of God was when he saw a puppet walk into the dream cottage.

Uh, so this is the House of God...

Rod also entered the unassuming little cottage.

In the midst of a powerful dream quake, the master and servant of the dream began their first official conversation.

Rod finally asked the question that had been weighing on his mind for a long ti.

"What exactly is a dream?"

The puppet answered in its usual calm and gentle tone.

"Great master, the term ’dream’ is rely a translation you are accustod to using. Its root na is absolutely forbidden, unless we have gained a comprehensive advantage, it cannot be stated."

The puppet paused for a second, then continued.

"But we usually call it Heavenly God’s Armor, which is the most common na used by generations of masters."

"Heavenly God’s Armor?"

Rod chewed over the na, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if he had heard it sowhere before.

"Where does it co from?"

The puppet answered calmly:

"Great master, the existence of dreams is grander than you imagine, but its true origin has long been lost in the river of ti. If one day you can find the legendary place of forbidden reflection, you might be able to find its true origin."

Rod frowned, "The place of forbidden reflection?"

"Yes, it is on the lost continent and might also have sunk into the depths of the Eternal Sea. Your power is still very weak; this is not sothing you can access now."

Rod felt frustrated, asking several questions without getting the answers he wanted, and simply asked directly, "Why is the dream so feared? Why do I always feel like sothing is targeting ?"

The puppet’s tone, usually placid as a still well, took on a slight ripple as it answered, "Heavenly God’s Armor was forged by ancient human strongn and Divine beings to combat the Black Fog. Heavenly God’s Armor can purify pollution and devour corruption from the source."

"And the world has already been eroded, not just the Material World, Spirit Realm, and Sea of Source, all suffering severe infection and corruption, monsters rampant, pollution everywhere."

"And in purifying these corruptions, we have beco the biggest pests in this dark world."

"Among the Three Realms, the Spirit Realm is the most severely corrupted. The process of bubble movent is a form of purification, invading another Spirit Realm’s territory takes away their Origin Power."

"The malice you feel is from the world, the threat from the Source."

"All beings eroded by the Black Fog naturally see us as their greatest enemy."

Rod suddenly understood.

No wonder he triggered a horde of forr dominators to chase him when he made abrupt movents, no wonder the secrets of the dream can’t be revealed, no wonder rely not following the old tracks is seen as derailing.

"So, what should we do?"

The puppet said, "Master, you need to beco stronger, need more Divinity, need to find more Dream Fragnts, need more stars returning to their places."

"We have to eliminate as much pollution as possible, make humanity much stronger."

"Only with a strong humanity can we possibly gain more Humanity and Divinity, only then can we win this war of the Source."

The puppet paused for a mont, then continued.

"The Black Fog represents the universe’s dark side, the world’s curse, born out of the breaking of the Primordial Law of the world. It will eventually pull this world into eternal silence, where all beings will perish."

"Fire, Guardian Fire, Bright Fire, Fire of Life... It is the main force against the Black Fog, existing to resist the Black Fog."

"And the dream, is the Guardian God of humanity, its most fundantal power originates from humans; the stronger humans are, the stronger the dream will be, and we, the creations of the dream, can continue to exist, maybe even recover our original selves."

"So."

The puppet respectfully bowed.

"Master, please do your utmost to purify this polluted world."
