Now reading: Chapter 657 - 388 The Real Human Hero from The Last King Of Darkness, a Eastern novel by Mountains and rivers have no memory.

The mont the star flash ended, the pervasive blue light throughout the Spirit Realm faded away, creating the illusion that the sky was engulfed by dark clouds.

The dispersing Black Fog gathered again, obscuring the distant starry sky.

The ancient gateway closed once more, and the strange sensation disappeared; everything returned to normal.

The changes in the material world were not as apparent, but everyone felt a creeping darkness growing stronger, the earlier rising fires starting to recede, and the Black Fog gradually thickening.

Utterly exhausted, Rod had no ti for reflection, as he collapsed into the rocking chair in the House of God and fell into a dreamless deep sleep.

When he awoke, everything had reverted to the state it was before the Star Flash had occurred.

Rod stood up, stretched lazily, and felt refreshed with a clear mind and a vigorous spirit. Power surged through his body like thunderbolts, and his Spiritual Energy had recovered by a large extent.

Looking around, he saw the Book of Knowledge lying face up in the house, sound asleep. The pages quivered with the rhythm of its energy breathing, evidently also exhausted to its limit.

The doll lay lifelessly beside the stone platform, its will still controlling the phantoms within the Fire Hall, seemingly intent on learning more about the surviving aspects of human civilization.

Stepping out of the House of God, Rod saw the Soul Altar not far away, the crystal wall brimming with souls, and he couldn’t help but smile.

His smile broadened even more as he looked towards the Obelisk.

In these seven days, subtracting all expenses, his total gain was 125 Divinity points!

The single inco from Star City was particularly dazzling, earning him 40 points in one go, which accounted for a third of the total.

Such a bounty was not to be understated.

In just seven days, he had accrued half the Divinity it had taken him so long to accumulate before. It had to be said, the efficacy of the Spirit Realm Strike was truly exceptional.

But without the Star Flash, he wouldn’t have been able to use it this way, as his Divinity would have been long exhausted.

This opportunity was seized brilliantly!

Joy filled Rod’s heart.

His Divinity had now reached 290, nearly catching up to the Divine Power consud to ignite the "Giant God Power."

Afterward, whether he used the Divinity to deal with crises or to enhance his own combat power was viable.

These 290 Divinity points were his reliance to get through Nightmare Night.

Hmph, Rod couldn’t help but reveal a smile.

Bring it on, let it co, no matter what kind of bizarre twisted existence, none can bring down!

I am the destroyer of darkness!

Mwahahaha!

Boom!

The Dream Realm suddenly shook violently, and Rod’s laughter stopped abruptly, incredulously watching the foreboding face of the Obelisk as it emitted a strong red light.

"What’s going on?"

A bad premonition surged in Rod’s heart.

"Don’t tell I did sothing again?"

The foreboding face of the Obelisk is a sign of an incoming invasion; the red light has never signified anything good.

The Book of Knowledge and the doll were awakened by the turmoil in the Dream Realm and rushed over frantically.

The dazzling red light flickered, overshadowing most of the Dream Realm.

The Book of Knowledge, flapping its pages rapidly, yelled, "Idiot master, what have you done?"

Confused, Rod replied, "I don’t know, I was just boasting a bit, trying to psych myself up..."

With a calm voice, the doll said, "Book of Knowledge, you cannot question the master like this."

The Book of Knowledge furiously retorted, "What do you know, Aphro? This master is both dumb and dull. Without , the Dream Realm would have... Ugh."

Rod held up his middle finger, and the Book of Knowledge swiftly changed its tune.

"It would have beco much stronger, right?"

With a snort, Rod turned and asked, "Aphro, do you know what’s happening?"

Unchanging in tone, the doll responded, "It’s the Source feedback caused by the disturbance, which has intensified the invasion. We’ve used the Spirit Realm Strike too often, the disturbances accumulated on everything, and broke the threshold. After the Star Flash ended, the Source feedback imdiately began to spread effectively. Once the red light recedes, the ti for the invasion will likely be greatly reduced."

Rod frowned, "Are you sure about your judgnt?"

The doll spoke calmly, "Accurate. I’ve regained much of my soul and rembered many things. Fighting the Black Fog is an instinct rooted in my mory. Only a loss of soul fragnts can make forget it... Master, I require more souls and spirituality."

"How much do you need?"

"Twenty million souls and twenty thousand spirituality per day."

If this had been asked in the past, it would have been an unimaginable number, but it wasn’t particularly difficult for Rod now.

Not to ntion, he had just enjoyed a soul feast, reaping an abundance of souls and their by-products, fully supporting its consumption.

"Fine," Rod waved grandly, agreeing, "You just eat to your fill; if it’s not enough, co to ."

The doll bowed slightly, "Yes, master."

Aside, if the Book of Knowledge had teeth, they would have been ground down hundreds of tis by now.

But the soul fragnt the doll had received last ti was very large; its soul integrity was now far greater than its own. It indeed required that much soul resource to recover.

Moreover, from the perspective of invasion, it was definitely better for the doll to be stronger.

Yet the Book of Knowledge was extrely annoyed.

It had co first and was the first to recover its soul, only that its fragnts were a little smaller and it couldn’t handle that much resource. At that ti, the master was very poor, so it had no choice but to opt for the most economical but also the longest thod to recover its soul.

It had contributed so much to the master, yet why had things turned out this way?

Earning Divinity, restoring the Dream Realm, the master’s growth—all should have equaled threefold happiness, so why couldn’t it feel even a single portion of it?
