Now reading: Chapter 664 - 390: Battle of the Dark Stars (Part 1) from The Last King Of Darkness, a Eastern novel by Mountains and rivers have no memory.

"One day?"

The entire Book of Knowledge jumped up, all its pages trembling, as it incredulously stared at the ti displayed on the prophetic surface.

"Why so soon?"

The puppet said quietly, "The quantification of the three stars has caused too great a disturbance; it makes the Dream Realm appear extrely threatening. The position of the Black Fog in the Spirit Realm is converging and pressing towards us, we will face the real darkness sooner than planned."

The Book of Knowledge wasn’t unaware of this; it just didn’t want to believe it was true.

"But, but this is too soon, one day... I haven’t even started preparing, how can one day be enough..."

The puppet gently shook its head: "There’s no one day; sunset is upon us."

The Book of Knowledge was as if struck by lightning, frozen in place.

Rod’s heart also sank abruptly. He pulled out his pocket watch to see that the largest hand was close to dusk.

The countdown to the invasion differed from real-ti; the day was considered over at sunset.

So, the invasion was not coming tomorrow; it was coming right now.

The Book of Knowledge suddenly snapped back to attention and frantically wrote, "Quick, Master! Hurry to the side of the Guardian Fire!"

The next mont, a strong red light radiated from the Obelisk, and the whole Dream Realm began to darken as if a vast cloud was enveloping it, even obscuring the starlight.

Rod had no ti to think, he imdiately returned to the Main Material World and sprinted to the Guardian Fire Sacrificial Ground in the Hall.

Here burned the Hall’s Guardian Fire, extrely unique because it was ignited by a soul core made from Trolian souls, the nucleus of the Fire Hall, providing energy for the operation of the entire Fire Hall.

In the warm hall, the strange fire floated in mid-air, guarded by Fire Priests and clerics; many Hall Warriors were sitting around, either ditating to restore their Spiritual Energy or using the power of the fire to purify the impurities in their souls, healing infected wounds and digesting the consud Spiritual Power Potions.

Rod’s na was already well known throughout the Fire Hall, and as a Second Level combatant, clerics seeing the double fire emblem on his collar imdiately knelt in half-salute to show respect to the great warrior.

The Fire Priest rely reminded Rod to make no noise, to avoid disturbing others’ ditation, and then let him enter.

Rod silently and swiftly chose a corner to sit. The fire had a strong restraining effect on anything related to the Black Fog, but sitting too close to the fire also made him feel uneasy.

This distance was neither too close nor too far, just right.

As soon as he sat down, Rod felt a strong palpitation in his soul, his entire mind trembling as if sothing extrely terrifying was about to happen.

With a thought, Rod imdiately returned to the Dream Realm.

At this mont, the Dream Realm had turned pitch black as ink, where one could not see his hand before his face, only the Obelisk still emitting a faint red light, with several lines of red text rapidly fading away.

"Nightmare descends... Nightmare descends..."

"The invasion is coming... The invasion is coming..."

The voice of the Book of Knowledge ca from afar: "Master, quickly launch the Spirit Realm Strike! This is the last window!"

Rod instinctively activated the Eye of the Soul, but then rembered it wasn’t very effective in the Dream Realm; he could only dash toward the House of God based on his feelings.

An extrely strong oppressive force ca from all directions, and Rod felt a suffocating sense like drowning, each step was like stepping on sponge, barely making an imprint; he forced himself to move, rushing into the House of God and instinctively grabbing the silver orb on the Light Platform, then imdiately felt the Star Core above it.

His vision skyrocketed, his perception imnsely heightened, but unlike before, he didn’t see the vast Spirit Realm, only endless darkness.

The Dream Realm’s bubble seed to float in the cold abyss of the universe, with infinite malice squeezing from all sides.

In front of the Dream Realm, a mass darker than the surrounding darkness, a terrifying presence, was moving closer to them.

Rod locked onto it in an instant, with a thought, a sparkling Light Grain was launched from beneath the Dream Realm, trailing a long tail, shooting into the darkness at a high speed.

The imnse darkness imdiately subrged the Light Grain, but it couldn’t hide its explosive light; a few faint strands of Spiritual Light pierced through the darkness like a warrior’s sword cutting through chaos, but they were fleeting, and everything seed as if nothing had happened.

The Star Core guided Rod’s gaze, firmly fixating on a certain position within the darkness, and the second Light Grain was launched.

Just like before, it disappeared into the darkness like a clay ox entering the sea, barely emitting any light.

The third and fourth Light Grain were launched in succession, but they didn’t stop the darkness from approaching.

It seed slow, but it was actually very fast. Rod couldn’t even launch the fifth Light Grain before it had already enveloped the Dream Realm, like a cosmic abyss’s behemoth devouring a bubble.

Rod’s vision went dark, and he exited the control of the Star Core, plunging once again into pitch darkness, but within his consciousness, he could clearly feel sothing horrifying creeping closer through the edge of the Dream Realm.

The voice of the Book of Knowledge ca from nearby.

"It’s here!"

"Dream Protection is resisting it!"

A silent roar ca from the void, shaking the entire Dream Realm.

Rod saw the Book of Knowledge not far away, surrounded by a white smoke-like Spiritual Light, straining to harness the power of the Dream Realm, combating the invasive Dark Stars.

The air grew even more humid, the sinister malice seed intertwined with these invisible droplets, like tiny insects burrowing into the skin.
