Soron stroked his chin, pondering, "According to the docunts we’ve obtained before, the Fighting Star Knight Order of the Starry Kingdom is one of their strongest main knight orders. The Fighting Star is one of the primary stars they worship. Using it as their title is enough to prove the degree of importance placed on this knight order."
Rod reflected for a mont before asking, "Teacher, how does the Fighting Star Knight Order compare to our knight order?"
Soron gave him a look.
"You rascal, even though the ti period of the Starry Kingdom was at the end of the Third Epoch, it was still the Fire Epoch. Humans had a place on this land, with relatively complete inheritances. Their light shines far brighter than ours. Many of the extrely rare resources that no longer exist today were still available to them. How could we compare with them?"
"Then, what should we do about the monster that tore apart the earth with a single strike and destroyed the Fighting Star Knight Order if it appears within Trolian’s territory?" Rod finally asked the crucial question.
"Fight," Soron answered matter-of-factly.
"Then let’s fight. Even if we face total annihilation, we will have tried our best; there’s nothing to regret. We just have to do what we have to do," he continued.
Rod was taken aback, then laughed, "Teacher Soron, you really surprise . I always thought you were the scum who peeped at young girls taking baths and recording it."
"Shut up!" Soron barked angrily. "I am a man of integrity; how could I possibly be that kind of person?"
All three of them laughed, lightening so of the gloomy and oppressive atmosphere.
Jessica coughed and asked, "Teacher Soron, how strong is a monster that can cleave the earth with a single sword strike?"
Soron shook his head, "I don’t know."
Afterward, Rod collected the corpses and turned them into ash using Spiritual Energy, scattering it over their last words as a final tribute.
"Let’s go," he said.
As the three of them exited the cave, they realized that it looked more like it had been forcibly created.
The knight captain from a thousand years ago must have had so sort of life-saving thod that allowed him to survive the initial strike, but the powerful impact blasted him away, creating this cave.
The magnitude of that force was unbelievable.
When Rod and his companions stood in the gorge again, their perception was different.
A chasm so vast was indeed the result of a single blow from a powerful entity.
They examined the walls of the gorge and the ground carefully and indeed found more traces.
Soron’s last bit of doubt was dispelled, "Look, the intense corrosion on this cliff wall hasn’t dispersed even after one thousand and five hundred years. The pollution carried by that monster is unimaginable. Thankfully, it was a monster from fifteen hundred years ago."
"It’s possible that was the monster that destroyed Starry Sky City," Jessica suggested.
Soron nodded, "It’s possible, but not certain."
Suddenly, Rod inquired, "What about the remains of the knight order? Why were only the captain’s left behind?"
Soron frowned slightly.
"Were they ground to dust?"
Jessica shook her head.
"We didn’t even see any fragnts."
Rod’s sense of alarm spiked, and he exchanged a knowing look with Soron, "Undead monsters!"
"Where could it be?"
Rod imdiately noticed the Black Water flowing across the ground.
After the disappearance of the corpses in the cave, the Black Water had changed direction, converging toward a distant place.
An understanding dawned on him, "The Black Water is already a substance of intense pollution. It naturally gravitates toward areas of stronger pollution, just like water flows to lower ground."
No wonder Asa said to follow the direction of the Black Water.
Rod briefly explained his thoughts to Soron and Jessica.
Soron exclaid, "It’s no wonder you’re quick-witted. The Royal City is protected from the rain by the sky do, and there’s no severe pollution nearby. We never noticed this phenonon."
Following the flow of the Black Water, the three of them set off.
"Rod, I feel like you’ve already beco a qualified Guardian," Soron said.
"Right," Jessica added with a smile, "Your wisdom is truly astounding."
Rod nodded, "You’re right. I’ve always been proud of my brilliant mind."
Despite what he said, he felt a vague unease. Suddenly, a thought ca to him.
Is the convergence of Black Water the gathering place of pollution?
If that corpse carried such severe pollution, why didn’t it turn into a monster?
What is the relationship between the indescribable horror monster that left the Scar of Death, with its intense pollution, and the Soul Devouring Demon born here?
And where had the Divine Artifact, the Wind Wedge Plate, gone?
A multitude of questions coalesced in his mind, leaving Rod montarily overwheld.
Just then, Soron ahead suddenly stopped.
"Here!"
He pointed at a giant black pit, with Black Water rushing into it frantically, even forming a whirlpool.
Rod turned his gaze, staring at the black pit.
Suddenly, a giant hand burst forth from the earth.
