Now reading: Chapter 796 - 442 Goddess’ Tears3 from The Last King Of Darkness, a Eastern novel by Mountains and rivers have no memory.

But as for so of his requests, Rod only dealt with them with empty promises, after all, according to his own theory, he had already reached his ultimate goal. Now he was simply enjoying the process.

Any demand exceeding this scope would raise Rod’s suspicions, and the very foundation of Asa, the ancient spirit of evil, rested on this belief.

If this belief collapsed, he too would dissipate.

So, in most cases, he could only obediently be exploited by Rod.

And to save this tornted soul, another 3 points of Divinity.

points of Divinity, why not do it?

Although not as much as Alan had, its cost wasn’t great either, just a single Goddess’ Tear.

The rarity of the Goddess’ Tears was only due to the limitations of the Starlight Fragnt; saving a First Level Combat Power and reaping so much honor in return, that was a veritable windfall.

In the white space.

Archbishop Horus was fully focused on his task; he held a thin white blade in each hand, making incisions over Amora’s body, the blades not harming his flesh but, in Rod’s eyes, his soul had been cut countless tis.

The Archbishop’s technique was dazzling and complex, peeling away the decaying soul like layers of an onion, minimizing all damage.

Even though it was an unprecedented new Technique and Rod had only provided its theoretical foundation, Horus still found the most suitable way to carry it out with his remarkable ability.

Even Asa praised, "Not bad technique, could be my assistant, Horus the old man truly lives up to his reputation. If he had joined the Doomsday Sect sooner, I would have developed the perfect soul transformation spell by now."

Rod ignored him, concentrating on watching the Archbishop’s movents and occasionally, as instructed, infusing Spiritual Energy into specific areas or sprinkling Potions.

His eyes couldn’t see the Soul Tether, but he could feel Horus was making smooth progress.

About half a clock hour later, Horus lifted his hands, the white blades vanishing instantly, followed by several beams of light that fell on Amora’s body, healing the wounds of his soul.

"Finally finished."

Horus suddenly let out a relieved sigh, and even his wooden face showed a hint of a smile.

The white light all dissipated, and Horus spoke out loud, "The soul surgery was very successful. I’ve re-tied Amora’s Soul Tether, removed so polluted and degenerated parts, the Awakening process has indeed been halted, the monster has truly cald down, and his soul has returned."

"This is nothing short of a miracle!"

The next mont, cheers filled the hall.

Guardian Nightwind rushed up to give Rod a big hug.

"It’s no wonder it’s you, the ’Black Bucket’; indeed, you are this year’s brightest new star."

Rod grinned and said, "Just call by my na."

"Alright."

Nightwind released his embrace, stood up straight, and with a single fist over his heart, he said,

"Pleased to et you, Mr. Rod. This is our first eting. I am Krama Nightwind, the Guardian of the Third Defense Zone. Like you, I belong to the Starfire Series, Eleventh Spark, a long-range attacker, and battlefield controller, specializing in mid-to-rear positions, control, and firepower output."

Rod extended his hand as well, "Nice to et you, I’m the ’Black’... Rod, Starfire Series, Eleventh Spark, adept at all positions."

Nightwind smiled and said, "You truly live up to your reputation, Brother Rod, I hope we’ll have the chance to fight side by side one day."

Suddenly, Horus squeezed his way forward, looking at Rod with sparkling, fervent eyes that gave him the creeps.

"Little Rod, do you still have any Goddess’ Tears?"

Rod rummaged around, "I have sixteen left."

"Leave one for ergencies, and give the rest," Horus said.

Rod saw a flash of golden light before his eyes and envisioned twenty points of Divinity at Star Square.

Is that possible?

Without hesitation, Rod stuffed fifteen Goddess’ Tears into Horus’ embrace and to his surprise, saw the Divinity flicker slightly before it was engulfed by the mist on Star Square.

That ant the twenty shares of Divinity were secured, just waiting for the mont when the stars would shine bright, and the Divinity would arrive as promised.

Ha ha ha ha!

Fifteen Goddess’ Tears exchanged for twenty points of Divinity.

This was the easiest Divinity I have ever received.

Rod laughed heartily, while Horus was moved by Rod’s decisiveness.

"Little Rod, I didn’t expect your character to be so noble. Rest assured, Royal City has always been fair, and your compensation will not fall short," Horus said.

Rod felt good too and spoke seriously,

"Mr. Horus, you see, the Goddess’ Tears are incredibly useful, but they require a Starlight Fragnt to make. Starlight Fragnts can only be found during monts when the stars flash across the sky, and they disappear quickly and are also hard to store. It’s quite difficult for to acquire them personally, so I hope you can give maximum priority to the task of obtaining Starlight Fragnts."

Horus imdiately replied, "Of course, this is a significant breakthrough! With it, we can reduce many losses."

Rod turned to ask, "What exactly have you all encountered?"

Before he could finish, the Book of Knowledge shouted in his mind, "10 points of Divinity!"

Rod’s spirits soared, and he quickly said, "Alright, let’s set out."

Nightwind looked at him with a flustered expression.

I haven’t even said anything yet.
