Clearing out this batch of Black Knights, Rod ventured deeper in.
Passing through shattered streets, collapsed houses, and partially destroyed large buildings, Rod continued to eliminate so monsters.
Aside from the Fallen, Starry Sky City harbored purely Dark Monsters.
Those monsters were far more troubleso than Black Knights. Rod had to attack repeatedly, continuously channeling Great Star Shuttle to impact the monsters’ Spiritual Defense, only then he could pierce them with a charged strike.
Killing a Strong Level Super Rank monster required at least fifteen minutes, and if they were Second Tier, it took even longer. For Third Tier, Rod felt extrely strained, needing to fight a prolonged battle in the Soul Burning state of the "Bloody Tears" to achieve a kill.
Soul Burning was Rod’s frequently used combat state nowadays. Its negative effects were much smaller compared to the Giant God Power, only involving the loss of blood and consumption of the soul. As long as it didn’t exceed a certain limit, it wouldn’t have a significant impact, and could be alleviated by taking potions rich in Spirituality.
Rod lacked no resources in Spirituality.
Therefore, now "Bloody Tears" had beco more commonly used than the Giant God Power.
However, the combat efficiency was too low. Rod consciously avoided monsters, targeting the Fallen for kills instead.
Soon, Rod discovered a pattern: the Fallen were comparatively abundant in residential areas, while monsters were more prevalent in open squares, arenas, towers, and other large buildings.
Understanding this, Rod’s efficiency increased exponentially.
By the second hour past midnight, he had cleared out three zones, killing over a hundred Starry Knights.
Most Starry Knights were slain using the sa tactics, but there were exceptions where so Starry Knights could withstand a strike without creating an opening.
In such cases, Rod needed only to follow up with a blow.
So Starry Knights could block or dodge this strike. Whenever this happened, Rod knew he was in trouble.
He needed to engage in a particularly arduous battle to defeat it. These Starry Knights were the elite among elites; although their Spiritual Power Level was not much higher than others, their combat skills far surpassed their peers.
In successive battles, Rod noticed those difficult Starry Knights usually bore a Starry emblem under their armor, marked with the title "Child of the Stars."
"Child of the Stars" was the title for champions within the Starry Knight Order. Rod had encountered them before; the key was the number of stars under the emblem — the more stars, the stronger the "Child of the Stars."
The strongest Rod had encountered was a Three-Star, whose speed was extrely challenging to keep up with. If it weren’t for phit’s ability to transfer damage and Phantom’s evasive capabilities, he’d have sustained many more wounds.
Faced with such foes, phit couldn’t rely observe; under Cold Ice’s continuous effects, the "Child of the Stars" would quickly slow down.
Once it slowed, its end was near.
Under the pincer attack of Rod and Phantom, the "Child of the Stars" could only turn to ashes.
Thus, their battles progressed until suddenly, Rod’s pocket watch began to vibrate.
"The roar of the Main Star Priest is coming!"
Rod imdiately snapped to awareness, looking around quickly, he soon found a giant crater.
"Quick, let’s hide there."
Rod grabbed phit’s little hand and jumped into the pit.
Seconds later, a roaring sound once again surged from afar, rushing over like a gale.
"The stars remain undying!"
