Since Star-Lord Victor wanted to have a talk with him, the mont Lord Flux, Lady Vox, and Sir Darius left, Klaus turned to hear what he had to say.
"We can start by telling your na, age, and your true identity," Star-Lord Victor said with a gentle smile while staring at Klaus. Rory wore the sa look.
However, Klaus had lived long enough to know that it was not a simple smile.
The smile on Lord Victor’s face held a deeper aning, the kind nobody at his current level of strength should be subjected to. However, he played it off and answered the question he was asked.
Being asked about his real na isn’t much. Nobody could track him to earth, so he didn’t mind telling it to a stranger.
"My real na is Klaus Hanson. I am 23 years old, and well, I am a hunter at the mission hall, soon to be a warrior at the warrior tower. Of course, I will be a disciple soon, too."
"Hmm, that is quite a reveal. To think a re 23-year-old could be this monstrous. Makes wonder if you are lying to , Klaus." He smiled and asked, "Are you lying to ?"
Klaus laughed and, without showing his nervousness, responded, "I am not lying, Lord Victor. I am indeed 23 years old, soon to be 24."
"I see. That is good to hear. However, I have another question, and depending on your answer, you might beco my enemy or my best friend, so do well to answer truthfully."
Klaus nodded; however, his sixth sense kept telling him to run. His connection to his wives was active; there was also no hostile intent from Lord Victor or Rory, so he could teleport at any ti and be gone.
However, sothing else kept telling him that doing so would cost him dearly, so he relaxed and waited to hear the question.
Lord Victor sat there for a while, then he asked the question Klaus was afraid of.
"Are you the paragon?"
Klaus showed no reaction on his face, internally, or through other body parts. He rely held the sa calm expression and unblinking gaze.
However, in his mind, a whole lot of reactions were taking place. Both he and Icon were confused as to what to even think. Among the many questions they expected to be asked, being asked whether he was the paragon was the last.
It was just out of place, and even while he didn’t plan on answering that truthfully, sothing else piqued his interest.
While he expected Lord Victor to keep his composure, he was startled to see Rory also looking at him with a calm gaze. It was like she also wanted to ask him the sa question.
’Strange,’ Klaus said inwardly, then he consulted Icon.
’What do you think, Icon?’
[They know you are the paragon. Sohow, they beca aware of your true nature. Now, they just want to be sure you are indeed him.
Also, they show no killing intent, and there’s no way this is being recorded. I have made it so that all you say cannot be digitally recorded.
But regardless of how things turn out, know that I have already moved your consciousness to your other body, so even if they kill you, you would only lose a body. We can create a new one later.]
’But why do they want to know if I am the paragon?’
[You have to find that one out yourself.]
Klaus blinked, then he gave an answer...
"I am."
Lord Victor and Rory said nothing. They just sat there, looking at him for a few minutes before a smile appeared on their faces. Then, to Klaus’s shock, they both went down on their knees and bowed.
"Greetings, Lord Paragon."
Klaus blinked a few tis, then asked in a confused tone... "What the hell is happening here?"
Klaus was completely blown away. The fact that he went from contemplating what Lord Victor wanted to ask him to him bowing and calling him Lord Paragon was just too shocking.
Klaus was not even sure how to handle this situation.
Thankfully, he managed to say sothing. "Please stand and sit."
They obeyed and stood up. Then Klaus reevaluated his options and finally asked, "Can you tell what is going on? But first, tell how you knew I was the Paragon."
Klaus wanted nothing more than to know how Lord Victor knew his true identity. As far as he was aware, not even a Supre could tell he was the Paragon, so for a re Immortal Lord to figure that out was, in a way, a bit concerning.
This even ant his mission to infiltrate the Heaven’s Court would fail if just anyone could tell he was the Paragon.
Lord Victor smiled and waved his hand, taking out a crystal.
"What is that?" Klaus asked, feeling so familiarity with the crystal. He had never seen it before, but he felt like he had seen it many tis before.
"This is a forbidden jade. It is used to hold forbidden items and mories."
Klaus furrowed his brow, slowly understanding sothing. The mont the word "forbidden" was ntioned, he knew it had sothing to do with him.
Lord Victor continued, "I was able to tell you are the Paragon because of this. I inherited it from my father, who also inherited it from his father. From what I know, a very long ti ago, a Paragon saved my family and race from a very powerful being.
"So in return, to pay back his generosity, my family swore their undying allegiance to him. The Paragon then gave us this jade, which my father said contains forbidden mories of the Paragon—mories that would react to his presence whenever he is close.
"Strangely, when I arrived weeks ago, it reacted for the first ti in billions of years. However, I still needed to confirm a few things, so I waited so I could ask you plainly who you are."
"I see."
Klaus was, in a way, relieved to hear how Lord Victor had figured out his identity. It seed he had nothing to worry about after all.
If the answer he gave him was related to the aura of a Paragon, he probably would have run and changed his identity, making sure he stayed far away from the Heaven’s Court.
But it seems he is in the midst of people he can trust, at least.
"So are you going to turn in to the Heavens Court?" Klaus asked after catching his breath.
Lord Victor smiled and shook his head. "My family and I owe everything we have to the Paragon, so we cannot and will not turn you in. However, while we cannot openly support you, or else we risk invoking the wrath of Heaven’s Court, we can, in a way, support you.
"So we will support you from the shadows, or whenever you need our help. But for now, know that your secret is safe with us."
"Good to hear that. How about your grandfather? Is he still alive?" Klaus asked. If he t him, perhaps he might recognise him.
"I am sure."
"Huh?"
"My grandfather entered the Forbidden Universe when he beca a Supre. He has yet to return. However, I believe he is still alive. My father is also the sa; he entered when he beca a Supre."
"Oh, I see. Then, considering how hard you are also training, I believe you plan on entering the Forbidden Realm as well."
Lord Victor nodded. "The only way to beco a Celestial is to go there. If I stay here, becoming a Celestial isn’t sothing the Heavens would allow."
Klaus nodded, already liking this family. It seed they all had bigger ambitions than he had expected. However, he was also startled to hear that the heavens isnt allowing anyone to beco a celestial.
