The news broke out so fast that before Klaus even opened his eyes after leaving the Dark Space, billions had already booked tickets to watch the deathmatch between him and Rouni that would be taking place in the Dark Space.
Klaus sensed a presence enter the room almost at the exact ti he opened his eyes.
"Tell you didn't just accept a challenge from Rouni Jamal," Rory asked, her expression narrowed at Klaus. She was having a good ti ditating when her communicator started chimming.
She got annoyed, but given how intense the chis were, she decided to look, only to find an announcent posted on the academy notice board.
Klaus had yet register at the academy, but because he had already accepted their offer, they were treating him as a disciple. That is their way of telling everyone Klaus had joined them.
However, what shocked her most was Klaus's response to Rouni's challenge. It was as if he had already foreseen his win against soone who had spent close to 70% of his life on the Foreign Battlefield.
Klaus smiled and stood up, "I am a petty person, Rory. That guy tried to look down on us Hunters, and so I suppose he had to learn not every hunter is afraid of him."
"But you should be afraid of him. If you don't fear him, at least fear his brothers, or sister, or father, and worst, fear his mother damnit. Not even father would offend that brat."
"Oh," Klaus furrowed his brow, a bit taken aback by how serious Rory's tone was. He didn't expect her to make this a big deal. However, from the way she sounded, it seems he underestimated Rouni's power.
Klaus took her hand and flew away, heading toward a garden not far from the mansion he was staying in. Along the way, Rory kept her gaze locked on him.
She had only known Klaus not that long ago, but those few monts with him had made her wonder if Klaus truly values his life.
First instance was when they went to the Mission Hall headquarters, where he accepted an Advanced mission as if it were the most normal thing in the world. The re fact that he did not think but accepted it left her in shock.
Now, he had accepted a duel from soone whom he should not have even dared to reply. Of course, he would lose so fa and receive a couple of mockeries if he decided to ignore Rouni's challenge.
There would be so backlashes, but after a while, he will recover.
But what did he do? He went ahead and replied in a rather disrespectful tone, sothing that had already sparked another wave of discussion that would probably go on for weeks.
That is just not what soone with no major backing should do.
Klaus may have the mission hall, but would that even be enough to stop Rouni's family?
"So, why are you riled up about this. I rely accepted a Deathmatch that would happen in the Dark Space anyway. If he dies, he would remain alive on the outside after all, so what is the big deal?"
Rory looked at Klaus long and hard, then she sighed.
"The big deal is, Rouni will be a nobody if he were from a family like yours."
"Ouch, that hurts, Rory," Klaus clenched his chest in a playful manner.
Rory smirked and continued, "The problem here is, Rouni's father is a high-ranking mber at the Warrior Tower. His mother is the sa. In fact, forget about the rest and focus more on his mother.
From what I know and will forever rember, they call her the Dream Queen. She is a supre who kills using Dreams. So if you sleep tomorrow and never wake up, know she was the cause."
"Oh, how intriguing," Klaus smiled, and added, "You know, I once knew a Dream Killer. Billions of years ago, she was sent to kill , but I had Buddha on my side. She failed and nearly died, so I will be fine."
Rory tried to speak, but her words escaped her. For a mont, she remained mute. Seeing this, Klaus chuckled, "No need to be stunned. I am the paragon, rember."
"Paragon or not, the re fact that you had ssed with soone who is respected within the Warrior Tower ans your days of being a mber of the Warrior Tower are over.
His father is a mber of the Supre Elders, and his brothers - three of them to be precise - are powerful gods who have so much rit that their re words will blacklist you from many places and even put your life at risk.
As for his sister, the Needle Queen, the last I heard, she had bewitched a Supre Demon and used him to slaughter a planet full of demons. She is like the golden child of the Warrior tower.
Also, she is unreasonable and holds a grudge against the Mission Hall. Are you getting where I am going with this?"
"Loud and clear, my dear," Klaus said with a chuckle. The re fact that Rory is worried more than he was is a bit funny.
"Did I ntion Gorr the god butcher is a friend of mine?"
Rory's expression changed. At once, the scared look on her face turned to fear.
The space twisted, and Lord Victor appeared as well, his expression dark. Klaus is already aware that he was eavesdropping. He could have locked him out while sealing the space, but he didn't.
Seeing the look on their faces, his smile widened. "I accepted the mission because Supre Elder Ryuu asked to do her a favour. Also, I decided not to join the Warrior Tower since they don't want .
For now, I work for Lady Ryuu, and so even if these people wanted to, coming after would be the last thing they would think about. I also have a Supre on my side.
But if by so miracle they were to co, then they would be walking to their death. I cannot kill a god yet, but I have people who would be happy to do it on my behalf. So instead of worrying, be happy to witness how I will put a pampared brat in his place."
Just like how the entire Universe knew the Renegade Hunter, so they also know of the god butcher, Gorr.
Hearing his na co out of Klaus's mouth made them all beco more afraid of Klaus than Rouni's family.
"In my opinion, instead of worrying about , focus more on the mission we have coming up in 4 months' ti."
Rory nodded, but she was still in shock after learning that the god butcher is a friend of his.
So far, it had been speculations that the paragon and the god butcher are in league together.
Now that it had been confird, the shock was just too great.
"So you know the god butcher personally," Lord Victor asked.
"I do. He is a weird guy, but fun to be around. Also, he had never missed a target, so in case you have a god you want dead, give their na, and it will be done."
Lord Victor scoffed, but his expression suddenly grew serious when he saw that Klaus wasn't smiling.
"Oh, you are being serious."
"Dead serious."
Lord Victor turned to her daughter for a few seconds before he took off. "Let's talk inside."
"Be right back, Rory," Klaus said as he left with him, unaware that his na was trending once more.
