Klaus spent an hour talking with Lord Victor, who, as he suspected, indeed wanted a god dead. It turned out that 200,000 years ago, a god tried to kill him but ended up killing his wife instead.
He had been looking for a way to get revenge for as long as he could. However, because of his ambitions and a promise he made, he placed a pin in it.
His wife wanted him to one day beco a Supre, so, putting his wife’s wishes above his revenge, he remained an Immortal Lord, forming one immortal ring after another.
However, the bastard who killed his wife had beco soone important in the Heavens Court. This ans that even if he were to wait until he becos a god, the chance of getting revenge is slim.
The heavens court would not allow one of their own to be killed that easily.
But if Gorr were to be the one to do the killing, then all the bla would go to him.
Klaus, of course, accepted the mission, which he would pass to Gorr the next ti he talked to him. Soon, news of the death of a True God would hit the universe, and Gorr would be there to take all the bla.
After the eting, he returned to the garden to continue his conversation with Rory. A few minutes into that, news that Rouni had set the date and venue for the battle reached him.
Lord Flux called him a few minutes after the news broke out. He sent the Dark Key, which would take him to the Heavens Arena in three days.
"Thank you, Lord Flux. I will be sure to teach that brat a lesson," Klaus laughed, then asked for a favour. "Tell the interview lady I am ready to grant her an interview. I have a few things I want to get off my chest."
"I will arrange it."
"You are the best, Lord Flux." After hanging up, Klaus grinned and turned to Rory. "Do you want to watch from here or be at the venue?"
Rory looked at him long and hard and sighed. "You really planned on poking the bear, huh?"
"They had already poked when they chose to target to prove a point. I had no plans on challenging anyone, but since they ca after , then I will be the bigger person and snap them back to reality."
"And I wonder why the universe hates the Paragon."
Klaus laughed. "They hate because the Heavens Court sold them lies. This ti around, I will show everyone how rotten their so-called protectors really are."
Rory looked at Klaus for a few monts before she asked a question she had been hoping to ask for a while now.
"So how does it feel to be the Paragon?"
All her life, she had heard stories about the Paragon. So say he is stronger than the heavens. So say he grows stronger by devouring children and the innocent.
There are all kinds of rumours about him, each hoping to paint him as a bad seed that should be banished from the universe.
Many believe what they want to. She herself believed that the Paragon was bad news for the universe. However, after she learned how their family ca about, she had a change of heart.
But hearing rumours and believing what was told to her is different from hearing it from the person himself.
Klaus is the Paragon, so she wanted to hear from him directly.
"Being a Paragon is having the freedom to do anything I want. I don’t have to abide by the rules of the heavens. They have no hold on , so I can do as I please, and they would have no choice but to watch .
Maybe that is why they want dead. They are afraid of what I can do, and so they are mad. They have no hold on , and that scares them."
He laughed, amused at sothing. "You know, I never wanted the heavens dead, not when I had always tried my best to protect this universe.
I faced harrowing odds just to ensure the innocents were protected. However, no matter how hard I try, there are always those who want dead. There are those who want to destroy my image and defa .
For fuck’s sake, I led the freaking Cavalry of Defiance against the gods during the Divine Era. I was the one who made sure mortals had a voice of their own.
I freed the universe from the grip of the gods.
But an era later, they slaughtered my entire family. I did nothing wrong, but they turned against .
So believe when I say this ti around, they will feel what I felt, and when I am done with them, not even the thought of pointing their fingers at will co to mind."
Rory turned to her left, looking in the direction her father was. She wanted to see if her father was paying attention to them.
Seeing the look in his eyes, she knew he heard everything. However, compared to the stunned expression on her face, her father seed more expectant of what the future holds.
Klaus smiled. "I can break you free from the heavens if you want."
"Huh?"
"Yeah. I have a way to make sure the heavens have no hold on you. I can make it so if you want; the heavens will have no say in how your life plays out.
Becoming a Celestial in this universe can be achieved."
"You can do that?"
"Yeah. I am the Paragon, my dear. Making sure the heavens cry blood is my full-ti job."
Rory turned and looked at her father again, but all she saw was a calm look. He heard what Klaus said, yet he remained calm.
"So, can you make it so my father wouldn’t have to go to the Forbidden Universe to beco a Celestial?"
"Yeah. However, until I fix what is rotten in the heavens, stopping at the Supre stage would be fine. But if you want to climb the ladder much faster, then I can easily make it happen."
Rory said nothing for a few minutes. She stood up and turned to Klaus. "I will talk to you later."
She vanished from the garden, leaving Klaus alone with his thoughts. He rely smiled, knowing she had probably gone to her father to discuss things with him.
She had always followed her father’s lead, knowing he had more experience than she did. Thanks to him, she had grown much faster, becoming a great warrior while most of her peers were still stuck at the True Immortal stage.
So if anything, she has a deep respect for her father.
Klaus just wanted to help her, just as he intended to help all whom he could trust. He planned to offer Niva his blood, just as he would give it to Seraya, Desmond, and the Monk. For now, Rory is the priority.
Their mission to the Jade Ant Queen’s Nest is a big one, so he wants her to be at her peak before then.
Klaus knew she and her father could be trusted completely.
This was because the item his past self left them, aside from aiding them in identifying him, also binds them to a soul contract that prevents them from revealing his secret to anyone.
Klaus is ticulous, so he wanted to give them the Star Monarch blood. This way, even if the item wasn’t enough, the mont they take his blood, they would be bonded to him even more.
So for now, he would let them have their discussions. Once they made a decision, he would know what to do.
A day later, the interview was set, and Klaus went back into the dark space. He used a Dark Key to teleport to the studios of Blue Ivy dia, where he t with Lord Flux, who ca to support him.
