Chapter 856: eting the Zombie Queen

The city is massive.

The buildings extend several floors, and as Klaus, Queenie, and Jaguar were led toward where the Queen was, Klaus could see that every last one of the buildings housed zombies, all dressed in red.

[Queenie, dear, do you happen to know the number of zombies living inside this city?] Klaus asked using the Paragon Mark connection.

[First, don’t call them zombies. They prefer vampires, and as for their number, I don’t know. I tried to find out the first ti I ca here, but sothing always seed to block my senses.] Queenie responded.

[Interesting. Does this an she had an innate domain 25 years ago when you t her?] Klaus was once again taken aback. He hadn’t expected to hear sothing like that from Queenie.

Twenty-five years ago, Queenie had already beco an Ascendant, so this ant the Zombie Queen was that powerful from the start.

Klaus didn’t want to say it, but he was eager to et this Zombie Queen.

[I don’t know what an Innate Domain is, but I know she is terrifying. Also, don’t look her directly in the eyes. Just like the other zombies, she wears a mask and a hood. Only her eyes are visible, and looking into them is dangerous.] Queenie warned, and Klaus nodded.

After moving for 30 minutes, they ca to a stop in front of a huge mansion sitting in the center of the city. It had a large door, much like the one at the entrance of the city.

Four guards stood at the door, and seeing their level 5 Void stage cultivation, Klaus knew these zombies weren’t simple at all.

Soon, the door was opened, and they entered. The mont they did, Klaus felt the Innate Domain bearing down on him even more.

‘I don’t know what she’s trying to do to my 68 Minds. Not even a god can get inside my mind.’ Klaus smiled inwardly.

After becoming a Transcendent, the Hivemind grew to 68 minds, making Klaus more powerful, smarter, and deadlier.

So, feeling the innate domain trying to enter his mind, perhaps attempting to test him, he simply smiled and kept moving. Soon, they reached the door to the main building where the Queen was waiting for them.

At the door, two level seven Void-stage zombies stood—one male, the other female. At this point, Klaus didn’t even bother to be shocked by the sight. He simply walked into the dimly lit hall.

The color inside was red, and the mont Klaus and his companions walked in, his gaze landed on the lady sitting directly in front of him.

She was as Queenie had described. Her entire body was covered, leaving only her eyes visible. She sat in a throne-like chair, her left leg over the right, resting her slender arms on the armrests.

Standing behind her on her left and right were two level 9 Void-stage beings, each with a sword sheathed on their backs. The six people sat away from her—three on her left, three on her right—each a peak Void-stage warrior.

The zombie lady who had brought Klaus and his companions before the queen spoke, “My queen, they are here.”

“Thank you, Ari. You can leave,” the queen said calmly, and Ari nodded before walking away.

“Good to see you again, Overlord Queenie,” the queen said, perhaps smiling behind her mask. Queenie, of course, smiled in return. “Indeed, Vampire Queen.”

Naturally, this was the part where Klaus should focus on the title change from Zombie Queen to Vampire Queen. However, Klaus wasn’t paying attention to that.

His attention was on the aura around the queen. She tried to hide it, but Klaus, with his ‘Eye of Malevolence,’ saw through it, and the shock went deep into his soul.

‘Level 2 Chaos Stage,’ Klaus was blown away. ‘She is dangerous, and well, considering her body posture and the way her legs are positioned, I have no doubt she is also attractive. Not that her chest is hiding that.’

“Looks like you brought friends,” the queen said, not even offering them a seat. Not that it was needed. They were in her territory, so she was privileged to do as she pleased.

Queenie knew this was deliberate, so she smiled and answered, “Indeed. This is Klaus Hanson, my husband, and his subordinate, Jaguar. Klaus Hanson is the leader of Earth, and as it stands, every last power on Earth listens to him.

We are here today because he wanted to et you.”

Queenie is an Asura, soone who has already recalled her mories up to when she was a Transcendent. In those mories, she was an Asura princess and understood how monarchs operated.

What the lady was doing now was a clear sign she was a monarch, and as such, she knew her words were supre.

The question, though, was whether she could suppress the three of them. Queenie believed that with Klaus around, she wouldn’t even co close. But then why was she being polite?

That was because she understood what humans call respect, and despite conversing with a zombie, that decency was sothing she could never let go of.

The queen didn’t say anything for a full minute before a chuckle escaped her lips. She focused her attention on Klaus, who held a smile on his lips while looking back at her.

Queenie, who had told Klaus not to look into her eyes, felt her heartbeat rise when she saw this. Naturally, the smile on Klaus’s face vanished, and a sweat ford on his forehead, which soon began to drip.

Queenie tried to move, but a sudden force held her back. Jaguar was then in the sa position—he couldn’t move, not even a finger.

For five minutes, Klaus continued to sweat while locked in the queen’s gaze. The two Peak Void-stage zombies behind the queen were clearly laughing at Klaus. Even the six others, whom Klaus knew, shared the sa reaction.

It seed their queen had found a new prey to toy with. Naturally, this was what they thought, until a sudden change ca from Klaus.

The sweat on his forehead dried, and his expression turned nonchalant.

“Looks like I was right… Aside from being at the Chaos stage… level 2, to be precise, you’ve also awakened your soul body… I’m impressed, young lady,” Klaus spoke, his hand behind him as he sauntered and sat in an empty chair.

The mont he did, he snapped his fingers, and the force restraining Queenie and Jaguar vanished. Klaus turned and looked at the queen.

“Hello… why don’t we start from the top again?” he smiled. “I am Klaus Hanson, Leader of Earth and everything it contains.”
