"Senior Kurs, will you be attending the science class later?" Finn asked tentatively, sneaking a glance at the wall clock; he needed to grab a seat in the classroom.

Kurs looked up and sighed sadly.

"No, Finn, you go ahead...it's aningless to now."

Finn: "..."

Not far from the dejected Kurs, two senior bronze-level apprentices were equally dispirited, sighing in anxiety over the assignnt they submitted a few days ago.

The assignnt about using a "secondary explosion fireball technique to create a suffocating effect to harm the target" seed outlandish in hindsight, and they worried it might have already beco a joke among the assistants.

Thinking about this made even the frosted bread taste bitter.

"In retrospect, our assignnt was too casual," Bain said, listlessly poking at his bread, "we even hypothesized about a 'demon beast not good at jumping'...How did I co up with such a stupid assumption?"

"Yeah, it was indeed pretty silly," Hard sighed, dejectedly adding, "I should've stopped you back then. Knowing you for so long, I should've realized you're a fool."

"What did you an by that!!" Bain looked up sharply.

"Alright, Bain, don't sweat the small stuff," Hard waved dismissively, saying in a resigned tone, "Rather than what I ant, I'm more worried about the esteed Prince not seeing our assignnt."

"No, I think you need to explain what you just ant!"

Just as the two were about to start arguing, a cadence of voice suddenly rang out beside their table.

"Ahem! Excuse , are you Mr. Bain and Mr. Hard?"

Both of them looked up in unison, first noticing the assistant badge on the collar, then promptly stood up with a "whoosh."

"It's …we are."

Bain stamred, while Hard, who seed more adept socially, responded warmly.

"Assistant, sir! What can we do for you?"

"Just call Mr. Keji, relax, good news!" Mr. Keji bead as he patted them on the shoulders and solemnly handed over an envelope embossed with the Magic Science Laboratory seal. "This is a letter from Master Colin for you. The details are inside! Have a great day, I've got more to do, see you!"

Mr. Keji congratulated them casually and, like a gust of wind, hurried off to find the next "lucky one."

The task Prince Colin assigned him was no easy feat.

There were more than eighty letters, and to avoid disrupting Prince Colin's "science class," he had to deliver them all before class began.

Watching the assistant's departing figure, Bain and Hard, dumbfounded, looked at the envelope on the table, montarily unable to co to their senses.

"Is this...for us?" Hard pointed at the envelope in disbelief.

"It seems...so?"

The two exchanged glances, seeing the sa shock and disbelief in each other's eyes, as if caught in a dream.

Hard was the first to reach out, trembling as he opened the envelope.

Upon seeing those few clear lines in the letter inviting them to join the Magic Science Laboratory, he felt his heartbeat almost stop.

Then it surged violently!

"Saint Sis above…"

"We've been hired by Prince Colin!? To the laboratory!?"

"Hard, punch —damn it, you really hit ?!" Bain, having taken a punch, showed no sign of anger but instead embraced his best friend excitedly.

Seeing the commotion, the surrounding apprentices cast curious glances.

And once they figured out what had happened, those eyes instantly turned envious.

A familiar scene played out in every corner of the cafeteria, pushing the students' enthusiasm for "science" to new heights.

Although understanding of "science" varied among the magic apprentices and even the assistants, at least the result was that this unfamiliar term had indeed spread widely.

And at an incredible speed...

The entire day, Bain and Hard spent in a state of agitation.

On one hand, they were thrilled that Prince Colin had recognized their lackluster talent; on the other hand, they worried that their bronze-level skills might fail the Prince's expectations.

After all, they were not powerful mages, just inconspicuous apprentices, until this morning, no one had ever given them a second glance...

As evening fell, the bell sound of the High Tower interrupted their chaotic thoughts.

After finishing dinner in the cafeteria, Bain and Hard didn't follow the crowd towards the bustling dormitory tower. Instead, clutching that precious invitation, they approached the legendary Magic Science Laboratory with a reverence akin to a pilgrimage.

Compared to the other laboratories of the Tower of Great Sage, this place seed rather modest in both personnel and facilities.

However, at so point, this unremarkable laboratory had apparently beco an academic sanctuary in the eyes of countless magic apprentices and even assistants.

To be honest, it was busier than they had imagined.

In the spacious hall, young apprentices like them were everywhere.
