After presenting his ideas, he placed the heavy, yellowed, and dog-eared notebook he held onto the table.
"This... this is all my research from the past twelve years on 'ntal fluctuations of hibernating individuals'... My experience aligns well with the situation in Void Realm No. 247. Please give a chance, I will not... let you down."
Hearing this peculiar research topic, the scholars seated in the waiting area began to whisper among themselves. There was rational discussion as well as slight laughter.
"ntal fluctuations of hibernating individuals... What kind of thing is that? Does it really need twelve years of research?"
"Sounds like a topic for the Spirit School, what's he doing at the Source Magic School?"
"Researching the dreams of vegetative plants? What's the point of wasting ti on that, just let the guy who can't wake up continue sleeping."
Luo Yan's gaze fell onto the file in his hand.
Void Realm No. 247, a cold world composed of countless tal cubes.
He speculated that it might be a highly civilized world similar to a "brain in a vat," and that the reason for the passage's near collapse was probably due to a previous researcher foolishly stealing a few "batteries" used as energy cores, leading to a massive power outage in the whole life-support system.
Of course, this was just his speculation; perhaps there were other more exaggerated situations.
Rockwell was obviously limited by the constraints of his tis, unable to see that far, but he still proposed a genius idea in his proposal.
"... I think those tal cubes might be similar to... the coffins of vampires," he tried to explain his theory, "The spiritual power fluctuations we're detecting don't co from the 'coffin' itself, but from the living beings sleeping inside. The last study likely failed because the previous professor took away the Demon Crystals maintaining the 'coffin's operation, causing massive death to the creatures inside due to the magic array's failure."
He looked up, and for the first ti, there was a glint of light unique to explorers in his eyes.
"So, I propose that we should no longer attempt to interact with those 'coffins'; if we don't understand their function, then let's not touch anything. We could try to directly enter the dreams of the sleeping creatures inside, so we can understand what they're truly experiencing!"
He bowed his head sincerely, his voice trembling slightly with excitent.
"Mr. Chairman, I don't seek any honor, I only hope for the opportunity to personally verify the theory of my lifeti... even if it's just this once!"
There was a murmur of whispers in the workshop.
At so point Camille had returned to the auditorium, and with arms folded, he sneered disdainfully.
"Coffins of vampires? Are they kidding... are they implying that the Void Realm also has a Demon God and its lackeys?"
His voice was not loud, but it was still clear enough to reach Rockwell's ears, causing him to blush furiously and lower his head.
The room fell into silence.
Luo Yan did not imdiately answer but gestured for the assistant to bring him the notebook.
After taking the notebook, he flipped through its chaotic yet filled-with-genius pages, his gaze moving across the densely packed texts and the wild suggestions within, his eyes showing unhidden admiration.
This guy is a talent.
But not a talent in the magical sense, nor in the research of spiritual power, but a talent in the field of "psychiatry"!
In this era of dical empiricism, Luo Yan has t the only mage who jumped out of the soul frawork to study the brain.
It seems that the overly abstract Extraordinary Power has indeed diverted too much attention from the talents of Aus Continent, preventing those brilliant minds from using their intelligence where it was truly needed.
Luo Yan closed the notebook, looked up, and made a verdict with a warm and clear voice.
"Mr. Rockwell, your persistence over the past twelve years is comndable. I admire your research and theory, and on behalf of the committee, I approve your application."
After saying this, his sight shifted from the stunned ntor Rockwell to the equally stunned assistant Vilich beside him.
"Vilich, note it down, allocate additional startup resources for ntor Rockwell's project. I hope to see this notebook co to life; it will greatly benefit our world."
"Yes, yes, Master," Vilich quickly ca to his senses and hurriedly noted it down.
Rockwell raised his head sharply, his bloodshot eyes filled with disbelief. He opened his mouth, yet couldn't utter a word.
Finally, this nearly fifty-year-old scholar, restraining his internal excitent, bowed deeply to the man in front of him who was much younger.
"Thank you..."
"You're welco, Mr. Rockwell," Luo Yan smiled softly and said, "You didn't get this opportunity through my charity; you earned it with your scholarly skills."
Those words stopped everyone in their tracks within the workshop.
Hearing this warm, spring-breeze-like statent, Rockwell could no longer suppress the emotion within him, tears streaming down his face.
By Saint Sis—
He actually saw the light of fairness on this snowfield where the strong rule!
Lu Kero stared wide-eyed in disbelief, his mouth open in utter silence.
Rockwell?!
This fifty-year-old relic?
Why?!
As everyone knew, if a mage in the Academic State was still an instructor at fifty, it almost ant serving in that role till retirent.
Yet this prince from the Imperial entirely disregarded the norm, directly overturning this unsaid rule.
He frantically looked around, hoping soone would remind this prince.
However, everyone present was smart, all counting on soone else to stand up; who would speak up at this mont?
Except for one—
"Absurd!" Professor Camille cursed and furiously stord out of the auditorium.
This was the second ti he exited in fury.
He had intended to see who truly t Colin's standards, but he hadn't expected the chosen one after him to be a clown!
Camille sneered coldly inside.
Just you wait!
Once this utterly ridiculous committee has wasted these legacies for the future, the Council of Sages will eventually realize how foolish it was to select this insanely radical guy as the executive leader!
At that ti, Professor Arist Thorne will naturally step forward to clean up the ss!
Unlike the departed Camille and the suppressed Lu Kero and others.
While they muttered complaints and curses under their breath, there was a spark of hope in the eyes of those truly talented scholars without backgrounds who waited in their seats.
A true crown will never tarnish from the incompetent anger of clowns; when pests think the sky is falling, it ans a new dawn for ordinary people.
They finally understood that the young acting leader wasn't rely strict or intentionally challenging them, the "civilian scholars."
He was genuinely bathed in the Holy Light as the God's Chosen One!
He was selecting truly suitable scholars for every precious Void Realm resource, with utmost fairness!
