The cold and damp air accumulated in the narrow corridor, almost turning into a tangible entity, as five young female apprentices cautiously advanced, each breath filled with turbid moisture.
Although the vast majority of apprentices were stalled by the first layer's undead, quite a few managed to break through the undead blockade and reach the deeper parts of the maze.
Unexpectedly for many magic apprentices, starting from the second layer, did the difficulty of the maze trial suddenly decrease?
Here, there were no wandering undead of inconceivable nature, and even the traps had finally turned into forms they had seen in their textbooks...
"Finally got rid of those damned skeletons..."

The box was entirely black, wrapped in a layer of rune black cloth, which was said to cause great turmoil if opened in the maze.

Lassitina was still hesitating in her heart.
The old witch who sold her the "box" exuded an ominous aura that still gave her a chill. She had no doubt about the box's power, but she was hesitant to take things to that extent.
She just wanted to teach a certain soone a lesson for not recognizing herself, without letting things spiral completely out of control... though it was, ironically, the safest course for her.
Lassitina took a deep breath, temporarily dispelling the chaotic thoughts in her mind.
She decided to look for another opportunity, only using this box in an absolute necessity...
It would be great if they encountered a few acidic slis just now.
And at that mont, sounds were indeed coming from the corner of the passage ahead, with several large figures squirming, completely blocking the group's path.
Those were three sli monsters, each about two ters tall. Their hulking, gray-green translucent bodies looked like huge jellies, emitting a faint acidic stench.
They had no facial features, only occasionally puffing bubbles on the surface to prove they were living creatures.
In Ilana's mind, the records from the "Monster Atlas" instantly flashed—

The attack thod is to swallow prey whole!
They have decent resistance to slashing, piercing, and magic. The best way to deal with them is to freeze them with ice magic, then destroy them with wind or earth elent attack magic!
Even though the sli monsters in the trial maze won't digest people after swallowing, they still pose a significant danger by suffocating and fainting the prey whole!
As Ilana was quickly analyzing the weaknesses of the monsters in front, a perfect idea simultaneously exploded in Lassitina's mind.
This was simply a godsend opportunity!
Her sharp gaze swiftly swept over the two sidekicks by her side, and Anjie and others imdiately understood, revealing eager and mischievous smiles.
"Don't worry! Ilana, these small fries are nothing! Watch and I'll take care of it right away!" Anjie raised her voice, sounding like she was cheering herself up, or perhaps deliberately speaking for Ilana to hear.
"Fla Burst Technique!"
"Haha, watch my Fireball Continuous Fire! Go get them, my little darlings!"
The two mage apprentices standing next to Anjie raised their magic wands almost simultaneously. Amidst their chant, scorching fireballs and explosive flas howled towards the bodies of the sli monsters.
"Wait! They can't—" Ilana's heart jumped at the sight, her warning cry was barely out before it was drowned out by a thunderous hissing sound.
Flas struck the sli monsters, and not only did they fail to cause effective damage, but it was as if boiling water had been poured into a pot of hot oil!
In an instant, an incredibly dense white steam suddenly burst forth, engulfing the entire passage in an all-consuming montum!
This is the mistake that almost every self-taught wizard would commit; fire magic, which seed to restrain sli monsters, was actually a trap!
With their bodies containing a substantial amount of moisture, sli monsters were certainly not like slis and wouldn't be vaporized that easily, unless the spellcasters had overwhelming magic power!
It's understandable for adventurers to make this mistake, but for "formally trained" wizards, it's sothing that should never be committed.
