Just a mont ago, because of the Wailing's siege, he got separated from the assistant and teammates amidst the chaos.
Those damned Acidic Slis in the trap destroyed everything of his, including the Mage Robe that symbolized honor and his beloved Magic Wand.
At this mont, the only covering on him was a coarse blanket thrown to him by the patrolling assistant.
Red mist filled the corridor, and unsettling hissing noises ca from afar. He curled up in the corner, cold and scared.
The only thing to be thankful for is that he still had a Gold Coin that wasn't eaten by the Slis.
This was the last asset he picked up from the Maze.
Although at this very mont, he desperately wished that what he held was not a Gold Coin, but a Demon Crystal or a Magic Wand.
At least that could offer him a bit of comforting sense of security.
'Must find a way to get a Magic Wand...' he thought discreetly to himself, gritting his teeth, while anxiously scanning his surroundings.
Continuing to wait here is ultimately not a solution.
Clinging to this last hope, he wrapped the blanket tightly and got up, starting to wander aimlessly in the Maze.
Perhaps Saint Sis heard his prayers.
He didn't know how long it was until he saw a simple stall at a corner of the Maze with a sign saying "Official Supply Point."
Three Skeletons were glancing around, muttering, seemingly discussing whether to run away or not.
Saint Sis above!
He had never seen such a bizarre scene before, the lowest-level skeleton soldiers actually doing business!
"Should we retreat..."
"I reckon so... This place has a bad vibe for ."
"Pack up, pack up!"
Vaguely hearing the conversation of the three skeleton soldiers, Kurs felt a flicker of joy in his heart, and without caring how eerie the scene was, rushed over imdiately.
The three skeleton soldiers were startled by the sudden appearance of a human.
But when they saw his pitiful appearance, they couldn't help but laugh.
[Knowledge Explosion]: "Buddy, were you robbed?"
[Go to the Pier and Get So Seagulls]: "Hahaha! Didn't even leave you a piece of clothing? Which dog coin is so bad, tell us, we'll laugh at him for you."
Kurs's face turned red; he couldn't speak nor understand what they were saying, so he had to brace himself and ask.
"Are you really set by Master rk as a supply point?"
[Good Citizen of Gotham] replied impatiently.
"Of course! Isn't it written on the sign; can you not read?"
"I... I just couldn't imagine," Kurs blushed, and then hurriedly asked, "What do you guys sell?"
[Knowledge Explosion] chuckled: "We've got everything; you have to tell us what you need first."
Kurs imdiately said, his voice excited and earnest.
"A Magic Wand! I need a Magic Wand! Do you have a Magic Wand?!"
"Magic Wand? Ah, of course... let find it."
Player "Go to the Pier and Get So Seagulls" rummaged under the stall, actually finding a crooked stick.
This was acquired from so unlucky apprentice, since they had no use for it, and it didn't look valuable, might as well sell it cheap.
"Hey, seeing you pitiful, this 'Ancient Rune Staff'—we'll give you a discount! But by the way, do you have money? I have to state that we don't accept credit!"
"I, I do! Who said I have no money!"
Kurs looked at that nearly falling apart "antique" and twitched his lips but still gritted his teeth to hand over a Gold Coin.
"Is this enough?"
[Go to the Pier and Get So Seagulls] lit up his eyes and grabbed it.
"Enough! Just right! Consider yourself lucky, kid!"
"..."
Kurs didn't want to stay here a second longer, grasping the new weapon, he hurriedly left this bunch of shaless profiteers.
But no matter what, Saint Sis was still rciful, and his wish to exchange the Gold Coin for a Magic Wand ultimately ca true.
Coursing with newfound courage, Kurs sprinted through, disregarding his appearance, as there was no one else here anyway.
What a coincidence.
It was at this mont that a piercing scream sounded from the front, breaking the silence in the Maze corridor.
Kurs was startled, instinctively wanting to hide, but the voice froze him in place, and he had nowhere to go but forward.
He timidly peeked out, seeing several mages wearing blue Magic Robes being cornered by a group of Wailing, their faces full of despair.
Although they've advanced to Mages, they presumably just upgraded this year, both their combat experience and casting experience were quite weak.
These rookies probably regarded this Maze Trial as a treasure hunt, not expecting to encounter such terrifying monsters on the first level.
Run?
Or not run?
Kurs's brain worked rapidly.
He recalled boasting about the "Hero Theory" to Finn, and his arrogant disdain towards Ilana.
He had already lost the qualification to continue challenging the Maze, but if he chose to run here, then he would truly just be a coward who's all talk.
Kurs gritted his teeth, a courage that even he hadn't noticed surged up from the depths of his timid heart.
Perhaps—
Saint Sis returning the confiscated Magic Wand to him was significant for this mont.
For a brief instant, he suddenly realized what true strength really ant.
"Hey! You no-face creatures! Look over here!"
Kurs roared and charged forward, the sole blanket on him billowing in the wind, like a comical battle flag.
