Duke Campbell showed a relaxed smile on his face, which then turned solemn as he looked at his daughter and spoke.

Duke Campbell gently gripped his daughter's hand, speaking with a kind voice.

At this, he paused for a mont, then under the gaze of nurous astonished eyes, he spoke those words.
"I have bequeathed my duchy and the knights to your two brothers, yet forgot to leave sothing for you..."
"Now, I have decided to give my sword to you."
With these last words, Aaron Campbell finally closed his eyes, departing for another world with a smile free of regrets.
As the Duke Campbell's hands drooped, the people around surged forward, tears streaming down as they knelt by the bed, calling out his na and title.
"Master!"
"Please wake up, master!"
"Duke Campbell! We can't be without you..."

Cries filled the entire room, yet two people were not crying.
One was Erin, standing by the bed.
She stood frozen, staring at her father's closed eyes, having forgotten to cry.
Her father's closed-eyed face overlapped with mories from her mind, continually playing before her eyes like a broken puppet show.
The other person not crying was his elder brother.
Edward, standing at the doorway, had just heard his father's final words. Grief and joy simultaneously froze on his face.
He had finally received everything he had ever dread of, and yet, it seed he had lost the approval from his father that he most craved.
Duke Campbell had not handed the Inheritance Sword, the Light of Praise, to him but to his sister instead.
Why?
Edward couldn't understand.
Looking at the man who had now departed this life, he clenched his fists involuntarily, his lips tight, his fingernails deeply piercing into his flesh.
He could feel his father trusted him, but it seed not completely.
That man had indeed raised him to be the successor of the duchy, yet he handed over the Trident Knights, representing the duchy's strongest force, to his brother.
He had tried to do sothing, to prove himself in front of that man, to gain his trust.
But now it seed, until his father's last breath, he had not succeeded in convincing him that he could continue the Campbell family's glory...
At that mont, soone finally noticed the new Duke.
The aged butler approached him with a mournful tone,
"Young master... please restrain your grief."
"Mm."
Edward, with a heavy expression, nodded his head and walked to the bedside.
Looking at his father, who had closed his eyes, he took a deep breath, grasped the now cold hand, and said in a gentle and soft voice,
"...I will bear the responsibilities you entrusted to , I swear by the na you gave , I will continue the glory of the Campbell family."
His magnetic voice gradually quieted the mournful cries around him.
Aside from the still grieving madam and her maid, most of the servants in the castle gradually shifted their emotions, accepting the new master.
Aaron's era had ended.
The next fifty years belonged to Edward Campbell.
Bathed in everyone's gaze, Edward gently let go of his father's hand, then covertly glanced at his sister beside him, whispering in a voice only the two of them could hear,
