Sano originally thought that Luo Yan, upon seeing him, would at least feel a bit embarrassed if not outright awkward, given that he was tricked into coming here.
However, what he never expected was that Lord Demon King had an even thicker skin than he imagined, and didn't even feel there was anything amiss?
Looking at Sano who seed to be stunned, Luo Yan said with a smile.
"How is it, are you getting used to life here?"
"It's okay..." Sano swallowed, and answered truthfully, "The environnt here is not much worse than Hell, just a bit windier, and the sky looks murkier."
Luo Yan nodded and sighed softly.
"That is indeed a problem. This planet has been nearly ruined by the native residents that live here, leaving only this wasteland. We can't even be self-sufficient with the most basic living resources here; food and water still need to be transported from the Great Graveyard, and I can't help but wonder how these local demons manage to survive."
These words struck a chord with Sano, as he truly could not understand the value of this wretched land, nor the significance of guarding it.
Especially since this is the domain of Chaos!
Out of fear of Chaos and for his own protection, this guy who normally never visits the Temple, now devoutly prays like a zealot, spending half an hour every day following those Lizardman Monks.
Not just for himself, but he even made his subordinates do the sa!
However, just when Sano was feeling aggrieved, Lord Demon King standing before him suddenly shifted the topic and lightly glossed over the matter.
"...Anyway, as long as you think it's okay, then it's okay. We've only just stabilized our foothold on the territory of Chaos, it's unavoidable to endure so hardships for now. But I can assure you, the current difficulties are only temporary, and everything will get better in the future."
While speaking, Luo Yan patted Sano on the shoulder then turned around with Sarah, walking back the way they ca, leaving through the castle's main gate.
Seeing Lord Demon King about to leave, Sano was completely stunned.
Is that it?
"Wait, please wait a mont!"
Hearing the voice from behind, Luo Yan stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Sano who appeared to have sothing to say.
"Is there sothing else?"
Sano hesitated, then after a mont finally said.
"I've been wanting to ask... what exactly does 'planet' an? Kao Planet? Is this still the Aus Continent? Or is it near the Dinsion Desert?"
Luo Yan was slightly startled by the question, quickly realizing that his own world had not completed global circumnavigation, and many things that seed common knowledge to him were not so for the people living in this world, but rather controversial scholarly issues.
"Planet... naturally ans planet, the literal aning is a star that orbits in the universe. If you find it hard to understand, think of it this way: we live in a vast and boundless cosmos, like a lush, leafy tree. Both our world and the world of Chaos are but leaves on this tree."
To explain from the most fundantal principles would take an enormous amount of ti, and in the end, even if he understood, it would be aningless.
"So the stars above our heads... each corresponds to a world?"
Luo Yan nodded and said.
"Yes, but not all worlds are living; the vast majority of planets are lifeless, with neither souls nor consciousness, enduring only ceaseless geological movents and monotonous physical and chemical reactions. Even greedy Chaos has no interest in these planets."
Sano looked at him blankly, montarily overwheld by the grandeur of the scenario.
But he quickly ca back to his senses and continued.
"But this is different from what we agreed upon, I ca to the Great Graveyard to work for you, the employnt contract didn't ntion going to that, what's it called, Kao Planet—"
"But it also didn't say we wouldn't go, did it?" Luo Yan sealed his lips with a single sentence, "And this place is also part of the Great Graveyard, I don't believe this violates our contract."
Looking at Sano rendered speechless, Luo Yan didn't intend to keep teasing him, after all, he still needed him to work.
Should I make an additional investnt?
Anyway, this guy can't escape from here.
After a mont of thought, an idea ford in Luo Yan's mind, and he continued to speak.
"How long have you been at the Silver Level?"
Not knowing why Lord Demon King was asking this, Sano paused briefly before replying.
"Almost five years now."
Luo Yan nodded.
"Five years, huh... If you haven't neglected your training in those five years, then Silver Level is likely the limit for your lifeti."
"..." Sano didn't know how to react to that statent or why Lord Demon King suddenly brought it up.
Just as he was puzzled, Luo Yan suddenly smiled mysteriously and said.
"Do you want to beco stronger?"
Sano shrugged.
"Nobody would say no, but it's not sothing I can do just because I want to."
Only Divine beings could see Soul Levels; mortals couldn't see their own Soul Level, though they could indirectly sense it.
And when he realized no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break through the Silver Level bottleneck, he understood his Soul Level was limited to that.
