Now reading: Chapter 456: Henwell! You’re Still Too Young! from The Lord Of Blood Hill, a Adventure novel by Raymonbin.

In the end, Newwood refuses Henwell’s request.

Henwell knows the request is a bit much.

Newwood is a colleague, not a subordinate, and he has his own duties to attend to.

If it were a simple favor, Newwood might have agreed.

But clearly, there’s an unspoken reason behind his refusal.

Henwell can only nurse his “headache” alone.

After gathering himself, Henwell heads to the area where the guests from the Kosen Kingdom are staying.

The atmosphere is much like that of the Billie Kingdom’s envoys, equally cold and quiet.

Before him stand a dozen or so burly n, all over six feet tall, their imposing presence making it clear why few co to engage with them.

Eivind, the second son of Duke Sendor from Kitamori City, sizes Henwell up before finally asking, “Groom, are you really not from the Kosen Kingdom?”

Henwell smiles. “n from Kosen do have distinctive looks. See, my eyes are blue, that’s different. My facial features are a bit different too.”

Eivind says, “Henwell, if you truly co from Kosen, no matter your family or who you’ve offended, no one would mind. We respect your bravery. Your family’s past glory doesn’t matter; your own glory starts now.”

Henwell shrugs helplessly. “Lord Eivind, I really am not from Kosen. Though I’m tall, that’s just because my parents raised well. Being tall doesn’t an I’m from Kosen. There are tall people in other countries. You know, we’re professionals, our physical fitness is naturally better. Growing up with tough training, our bodies are just naturally bigger than most.”

Eivind laughs heartily and waves a hand. “Ha! None of that matters. As long as you look like you’re from Kosen, that’s enough. I promise you this: if you co to Kosen, we will treat you as a grand duke!”

He adds with a smile, “We don’t want your power, your army, your lands, or your wealth. Just you alone, and we’ll give you the grand duke title! People from warr lands think Peace Haven is worth courting. “

”But we’re different, we know Peace Haven has value because of you! You’re worth far more than Peace Haven. With you around, ten or even a hundred Peace Havens could be established! You may have heard that our Kosen king isn’t hereditary; it’s an election system. If you co to Kosen, you’ll have the right to compete for the next throne!”

Henwell understands the sincerity behind Eivind’s words but can only smile and express his thanks.

To be honest, up until now, only two people truly understand Henwell’s value: Duke Obiken and Princess Catherine.

Now, an entire kingdom has recognized his worth.

This surprises Henwell but also raises his wariness toward the Kosen Kingdom by a notch.

Seeing Henwell politely decline, Eivind stops pressing and smoothly shifts the conversation.

“Henwell, we’ve finished business talks with all sides. Is there anything you want to discuss with the Kosen Kingdom?”

Henwell replies, “I’m planning to build an industrial zone within Arius’s territory. When it’s up and running, many goods will be produced and sold to Kosen. Kitamori City will be our first major sales hub, so I’ll count on your support there.”

Eivind responds, “That’s a small matter. The more goods you sell us, the better for us. Don’t worry about anyone causing trouble.”

After chatting a bit more, Henwell asks, “Do you know about the Hundred-Year Calamity?”

Eivind’s answer surprises Henwell. “Of course! By the tiline, it’s almost here.”

Eivind studies Henwell and asks, “How do you know about this?”

Henwell stays calm. “You tell first, how do you know?”

Eivind smiles aningfully. “We definitely know. Unlike you southerners who live in warm climates and sohow lose your mories! I’m guessing you heard about it in the Western Federation. And since you’re a Paladin, probably from Guardian City?”

Seeing Henwell’s surprised expression, Eivind continues, “Henwell, do you really think the continent is as simple as what you see? Kosen Kingdom not only endures harsh environnts but also hides many truths beneath thick ice layers. If you’re interested, you’re always welco to visit. I’m sure you’d gain a lot.”

With that, Eivind stands to leave. Before walking off, he turns back.

“Oh, and Henwell! We think you’re from Kosen not just because of your height. You might misunderstand us, but we hold no hostility toward you. We admire many of the things you’re doing. You’re one of the few leaders on this continent who truly considers humanity’s future. Don’t be too hostile toward us. Maybe soday, we can beco allies and fight side by side.”

Watching Eivind and the others walk away, Henwell furrows his brow deeply. After a long mont of thought, he quietly asks, “What exactly is going on with the Kosen Kingdom?”

Newwood smirks. “Curious again?”

Henwell replies, “Of course I’m curious. But sothing about their words makes feel like they know well. I just want to know if they’re my enemies.”

Newwood scoffs, “Losing your mind again? Forgot your mission? Rember this, there are no allies in this world.”

Henwell lets out a bitter smile. “Haha… yeah. Strictly speaking, no person, no organization, no power or nation is truly my ally. My only allies are the sword in my hand, the armies under my command, and the lands and people I govern.”

Newwood nods. “Good. Don’t expect anything from others. It only leads to disappointnt and clouds your judgnt.”

Next, Henwell visits the church’s knight squad.

Deputy captains McComb and Sosie rise first, leading the entire squad in saluting Henwell and offering their blessings.

After inviting everyone to sit, Henwell says, “Brothers, I’ve just finished negotiations with representatives from various nations. They will fully support our mission. You’ll rest here for a while. Once we receive confird intelligence, we’ll set out. At that ti, the nations will provide ard assistance.”

McComb smiles warmly. “Sir, there’s no need to rush. You just got married, waiting a bit won’t hurt.”

Henwell sighs. “I wish I could stay ho longer. But knowing the Veil Organization is scheming in the shadows makes feel the weight of my responsibility.”

He looks serious. “Since the church trusts , I cannot disappoint the archbishop, nor bring sha to the divine.”

Finally, Henwell smiles. “Brothers, no need to be so formal. We’re all brothers of the church, serving the sa cause, fighting for the divine. The only difference is in our duties, not rank. From now on, you don’t need to call ‘sir’, I’m young. Just call Henwell.”
