Four Lumir legions have run to Henwell and surrendered. Unhappy as he is, he can only accept them.
When Henwell arrives at the border zone, he sees the Second Garrison Legion and the First Infantry Legion facing off against Ogiro's army.
After seeing Henwell arrive with the First Cavalry Legion, the commander of the Sharp Spear Legion knows that the plan to annihilate this detached Lumir army has failed.
Ogiro cannot fight on two fronts right now, and it certainly cannot afford to provoke Henwell.
Still, soone has to say the hard words. The commander of the Sharp Spear Legion rides forward and says, "I want to speak with Henwell!"
Ayla, commander of Peace Haven's First Legion, rides forward. "My lord is busy. Say whatever you need to say. I can pass it on."
Herbert, commander of the Sharp Spear Legion, says, "Only this once. We do not want to see these Lumir troops who surrendered to you return to the battlefield."
"If this happens again, we cannot guarantee that the border zone will remain safe. I hope you can follow so rules."
Ayla sneers. "Rules? What rules? Whose rules?"
"You do not want to see these troops return to the battlefield?"
"What? Do you want us to enter the field and fight you ourselves?"
Herbert says, "Peace Haven's army is indeed elite, but you are still nothing more than a noble's private army. Do not think that a few sches and tricks make you invincible."
Ayla raises an eyebrow. "Talk is useless. Why don't we settle it head-on?"
After saying that, Ayla raises a hand in signal.
The First Legion behind him imdiately forms up and begins advancing. Three cavalry battalions roar out, seizing favorable positions for a charge.
At the sa ti, the Second Garrison Legion on the left wing also begins moving, looking as if it intends to strike directly at the flank of the Sharp Spear Legion.
Seeing this, the Sharp Spear Legion also imdiately enters battle readiness. The legions on both wings spread out, preparing to raise their defenses.
Just as the situation is about to explode, Henwell arrives at a gallop with the Lord Iron Guards.
He reins in his horse in front of Herbert, commander of the Sharp Spear Legion.
As Henwell stops, the thousand-plus cavalryn behind him also rein in at once, their formation holding perfectly.
Herbert's heart sinks. He knows that ordinary cavalry absolutely cannot do this. These are all knights.
Holding his war spear, Henwell sizes up Herbert in front of him. The man is just over forty, and he is one of Ogiro's more outstanding talents.
Not only is his personal strength that of a veteran Grand Knight, he is also a count with real authority in Ogiro. Even more rarely, Herbert's command ability is quite good.
He is a rising star who erged during the War of the Six Kings, and Duke Jansen has a very high opinion of him.
Henwell says, "Count Herbert, I have no intention of starting a war with Ogiro, but your country still has not declared a ceasefire."
"Strictly speaking, the two of us are still at war."
"Now that you have led troops so close to our defensive line, it is clearly your side that provoked us first. I hope your side rembers that."
"If you co this close to us again, next ti, I will not be here simply to reason with you."
Herbert bows slightly. "Good afternoon, Lord of Blood Hill. I have no intention of provoking a dispute."
"However, as you can see, we were pursuing Lumir troops, and they ran to you and surrendered."
Henwell nods. "That is true. And I accepted their surrender. After all, they entered our controlled area illegally, and we have the right to do so."
"As for you pressing this close, that makes sowhat suspicious."
"After all, you have a record. Previously, you used the excuse of pursuing rebels to start the war against Lumir."
"Are you trying the sa trick again now? Do you want to use the excuse of pursuing Lumir's army to continue fighting ?"
Herbert shakes his head. "Henwell, first and foremost, I am a soldier. Although I know there are tricks in this matter, I will not care about them."
"You know I did not co for that. Let this matter pass."
"But I still have to remind you. Previously, this force marched out from your defensive zone with a large amount of supplies, charged all the way south, and broke into our rear."
"Now that this force has surrendered to you, do not let sothing like that happen again afterward. Otherwise..."
Henwell raises a hand and cuts Herbert off. "Do not threaten . I am a timid man."
"If you try to scare , then next ti, I guarantee it will not only be these four Lumir legions going there."
"Trust , even if I do not bring my own army, and only bring these four legions, the impact on you will be far greater than what happened now."
Seeing Henwell's forceful attitude, Herbert gently shakes his head. "Henwell, telling this is useless. I am a soldier. I obey orders."
Henwell adds, "Of course I know what kind of man Your Excellency is. I am only asking you to pass these words to Diversion Bay."
"Let them understand that my Peace Haven has not been crippled. As long as I am alive, Peace Haven can still fight!"
Herbert says no more. He gives Henwell a military salute, turns his horse, and leaves the border.
Afterward, Ogiro's four legions begin slowly withdrawing.
Henwell enters the small town in the border zone, and Ayla and the others follow.
Inside the temporary command post, Henwell looks at the map and frowns. "Notify the engineering units. Raise the construction priority of the fortress defensive line here!"
"Notify Marnes of the Construction Supervision Office. Have him transfer another ten thousand engineering workers here."
"Inside Peace Haven, except for projects with first-level priority, put everything else on hold."
"Also, have Victor prepare to move over a complete industrial system."
"Mining, slting, forging, precision processing... all of it needs to be moved here."
"Transfer another fifty thousand serfs who are about to obtain citizenship here and use them to fill this place directly."
"At that ti, I will announce that they have beco my people and are under Peace Haven's protection."
"Finally, transfer Peace Haven's Cavalry Patrol Regint here as well. Have them cooperate with the newly established Constabulary here and restore public order as quickly as possible."
After arranging everything, Henwell looks at Ayla. "You will have to take on more work during this period and stay here."
"The First Legion and the Second Garrison Legion will both be placed under your command. If anything urgent happens, you may make decisions on the spot."
Ayla salutes. "There is nothing hard about it. This is my duty."
After arranging several more matters, Henwell finally rembers the Lumir captives. "What is their situation now?"
Ayla reports, "The wounded have already been arranged for treatnt. They are currently building their own prisoner camp."
"Their weapons and equipnt have all been unloaded. Their commander is waiting for your summons. He says he has sothing to tell you."
Then Henwell ets the overall commander of this detached Lumir army.
He is a sturdy man around fifty years old. After all, he is a veteran Knight Commander. Even at the second rank, an extraordinary professional can still keep himself in very good condition at this age.
After seeing Henwell, the commander salutes and hands over his sword. "Lord of Blood Hill! Clifford, eastern military overseer of Lumir, formally surrenders to Your Excellency!"
Henwell takes the sword with a strange expression. "So tell . Did you plan in advance to run here and hide with , or was this a sudden idea you decided on yourself?"
