After Obilian lays out his arrangents, Semson gives no judgnt.
Then, under Obilian's expectant gaze, Semson changes the subject. "What if I give you four more legions whose elite level is no weaker than your private army?"
Obilian freezes for a mont, then reacts. "General Clifford's four legions?"
After receiving an affirmative answer, excitent appears on Obilian's face.
"If that is truly the case, perhaps we can suppress Ogiro's legions and make them withdraw, returning the situation to the standoff before the campaign."
Semson then continues, "And what if I give you two more legions? Ace legions. What can you achieve then?"
Obilian answers without hesitation, "Then we can push Ogiro back to the Ironwood Fort defensive line!"
"But our ace legions have all suffered heavy losses. They have no combat strength in the short term, and even rebuilding them will take a long ti!"
Semson grins. "My son, today, your father will teach you one more lesson."
Then Semson walks to the map and taps Peace Haven's occupied zone. "Go here and ask Henwell for those two ace legions."
"Although he is a greedy beast, we have to admit that almost all the troops under his command have ace-level strength."
Obilian's eyes widen. "How is that possible? I understand Henwell!"
"What he needs now is ti to rest and recover. He needs to sit back and watch us fight."
"That is exactly why he guided the war into our territory."
"He finally managed to get out of it. Why would he step into the field again?"
Semson smiles. "My son, rember this. Ruling a country is about balance, about the balance between giving up and taking."
"Also, our country was founded on comrce, and we have always believed in one saying: everything has a price. The only question is whether the price is suitable."
"The sa goes for any force. The sa goes for people. And it is even more true of the lord of Blood Hill, Henwell."
Obilian begins to understand. "Father, you want to formally transfer ownership of Peace Haven's occupied zone to Henwell?"
Semson shakes his head. "Of course not. Henwell always says one thing: do not use his own things to trade benefits with him."
"Those areas are already occupied by Henwell now. Since he occupies them, he will occupy them forever. There is absolutely no chance he will return them to us."
Semson moves his finger downward. "I want to use ownership of Tatan City and Saltwater Town to buy Henwell's military aid!"
"Hasn't he always wanted these two places? Now I will hand them to him."
"I will give him the land and population around Tatan City."
"Although the people occupying Saltwater Town are also from Peace Haven, that is not public. He needs a clear legal right to rule there."
"Otherwise, whether it is us or Ogiro after it recovers in the future, either side can attack Saltwater Town under the excuse of suppressing a rebellion."
"Tell , are these two places worth two legions from Henwell to help us?"
Looking at the two pieces of territory Semson marks on the map, Obilian feels his mouth go dry. Combined, they cover more than ten thousand square kiloters.
"Father, this will not work. The dostic reaction..."
Semson raises a hand and cuts him off. "That is a matter for later. Right now I am asking you this. With this, what can you achieve?"
Obilian pulls his mind back to the war. "That depends on what Henwell's legions can do."
"Will they rely wave flags and shout, only coming to lend montum and deter Ogiro Kingdom's army?"
"Or is Henwell willing to enter the field with us and strike Ogiro hard?"
Semson nods. "Exactly. And what you need to do next is go find Henwell and have a proper talk with him."
"You must pay attention to one point. Henwell has still not fully beco a qualified political leader. He is not shaless enough yet."
"Put plainly, he is a person who cares about face and wants to preserve his dignity, so at this stage, he keeps his promises."
"Rember this. It is vital. Do not look at what anyone else in Peace Haven promises you."
"You need Henwell himself to promise you face to face. Only then will the promise bind Peace Haven."
"Henwell cares about face, but many of his subordinates do not."
"And Henwell's prestige and ruling power an that once he makes a promise, no one in Peace Haven will dare violate it."
Obilian commits all of this to mory and says he will handle these matters at once.
But before he can leave, Semson continues, "Last, and most importantly, after you finish this war, you must return with the prestige of a great victory, bring the army with you, force to abdicate, and seize my throne."
"Father, I do not an to..."
"Listen to first! You must do this. For the country and for the family, you need to do this."
"After the war, Lumir will have lost nearly one-third of its territory. Soone must be responsible for that."
"If I am not driven from the throne, then the entire Jorkson family will have to bear responsibility."
"And if I am not driven from the throne by you, then our family will lose its foundation for ruling Lumir."
"This is very important."
"What you do not know is that there are already people supporting your elder brother Dilio in seizing power."
"If I had not prepared early and temporarily stabilized him, he would already be sitting here now, discussing with the Western Federation or Ika Kingdom how to hand over the right to rule Lumir."
"So this ti, you must be fast. Fight the war quickly, and return quickly after victory."
"Octopus will bring Coral Reef to assist you in completing the takeover and pacifying Holy Lake City."
"You do not need to worry about that much. Your job is to win this battle, then lead troops back to Holy Lake City and sit on this throne!"
Looking at the rather pained Obilian, Semson smiles. "Look, my son. This is what a king is. It is not easy."
"This is the price of being king. Politics requires compromise and concessions. You strive to trade the smallest loss for the greatest benefit."
"Also, there is one point you must promise . You cannot kill your elder brother. You must let Dilio leave Holy Lake City."
Obilian shakes his head. "Father, how could I kill my elder brother?"
"Although he does not get along with , we have not reached the point where brothers kill each other."
Semson gives a cold laugh. "Are you sure you have not reached that point?"
"Once your elder brother seizes the throne, he plans to recall you imdiately and place you under house arrest."
"He has even silently allowed his subordinates to prepare charges for you: colluding with Peace Haven and selling out the country's interests."
"Then he would hang you publicly in Holy Lake Square, using your life to calm the dissatisfaction within the country and putting all responsibility on you."
Under Obilian's shocked gaze, Semson explains, "I am not telling you not to kill him because I want to spare his life."
"I want him to defect to the Western Federation. He will take many people who will oppose you in the future and gather them in one place, making it easier for you to watch them."
"Also, after he defects to the Western Federation, he will also need to stay wary of Ika Kingdom."
"This will cause Ika and the Western Regions to restrain each other, buying you enough ti to straighten out the country and secure control."
"At the sa ti, the benefits we give Henwell and his involvent in the war will also deepen the conflict between him and Ogiro."
"The two sides will certainly be wary of each other in the days ahead, and the pressure on us will be much smaller."
The old king begins teaching the new king his final experience and knowledge. This continues until daybreak.
Under Octopus's arrangents, Obilian travels all the way east to Peace Haven's controlled zone.
