Helen replied with a video call, her eyes red and swollen, and her voice choked, “Little Taotie, he’s getting discharged from the hospital.”

The door to the hospital room was knocked.
Helen went to open it, very surprised to see who stood there.
Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan stood at the doorway, and Little Taotie handed Helen a bouquet of flowers, “Helen, I ca to see you.”
Helen hugged Little Taotie, moved, “I didn’t expect you’d co to see !”
Little Taotie handed her an exquisitely wrapped gift, “Look what’s inside.”
Helen didn’t expect there to be a gift along with the flowers!
She unwrapped the paper to find a shell-shaped box inside, resembling a shell cake.
The box alone delighted Helen, and when she opened it to find the shell hair clip inside, her eyes couldn’t look away.
“It’s so beautiful!” Helen exclaid.
Little Taotie smiled, “It’ll be even more beautiful when you wear it!”
Helen blushed, took out the shell hair clip, and gently clipped it onto her bangs, “Does it look good?”
Little Taotie nodded eagerly, his eyes sincere, “It looks great!”
Helen walked to the mirror; tears ca before a smile and she cried as she laughed.
“I will show him how nice it looks.”
Saying this, she left the room and ran toward the ICU upstairs.
Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan quickly followed.

Through the glass, Helen placed her hand against his, “Look, this is Little Taotie, this is Hua.”
She touched her hair clip and smiled, “This is the hair clip Little Taotie gave , see how beautiful it is!”
The boy smiled and greeted Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan, then looked at Helen’s hair clip, “It’s very pretty, you look beautiful wearing it.”
Helen’s nose tingled, “You like taking pictures, how about we take a photo together?”
The boy nodded, “Okay.”
Helen, wearing the hair clip, took a photo with him through the glass.
Both were in hospital gowns, giving off a couple’s outfit vibe at the mont.
“I want to see the ocean, to collect shells with you,” the boy suddenly said.
Helen softly answered, “When you get discharged, we’ll go see the ocean, collect shells, lots and lots of shells…”
The boy’s voice was gentle, “I want to learn to make hair clips, make a unique one with the shells we collect.”
“Sounds wonderful, I look forward to the shell hair clip you’ll make.”
“Then you’ll wear the shell hair clip, and we’ll take pictures by the sea. The photos will be beautiful.”
Helen nodded, “I’ll put the photos in a locket.”
