During dinnerti, the nu featured a new dish, prominently displayed with a beautiful photo on the front page. Upon opening, the first thing one sees is the Peacock Display image, where each of the peacock feathers is a small gourd.
A man jokingly asked, "What mystery is hidden inside these little gourds?"
The chubby waiter replied with a smile, "They’re tiny screws."
"This dish sounds interesting, let’s order a plate."
"Alright, let us know how the new dish tastes and give us so feedback."
"Of course, we’re straightforward people. If it doesn’t taste good, we’ll say so directly."
Soon, the dish was brought out.
The small gourds were pre-prepared, and after the custor placed the order, they only needed to be refried to be served imdiately. The serving speed was very fast.
"It slls quite fragrant," said the man.
The brothers at the table started to pick up a piece with their chopsticks to taste it.
Next, no one spoke, only the rapid movent of chopsticks was visible.
By the ti they regained their senses, the small gourds were gone.
The man took a sip of wine, "This makes a nice appetizer; it’s very tasty!"
Soone suggested, "Let’s have another plate; we’re many, and one plate isn’t enough!"
The man called over the chubby waiter and ordered two more plates.
The back kitchen learned that this dish was ordered twice by the sa table, and once ordered again, it was two plates, indicating the dish was quite popular.
The head chef breathed a sigh of relief, worrying the guests might not like it.
The new dish was well-received by the diners, and the head chef was in a great mood, even humming as he cooked.
The back kitchen was filled with an atmosphere of joy, but there was one person who felt out of place—that was the scheming Chef Wu.
Chef Wu took advantage when no one was looking and took sothing out of his pocket.
It was a worm, writhing!
He spent considerable effort finding it after work yesterday, initially planning to put it in the lunch dish. But at noon, there were too many eyes on him, making it difficult.
In the evening, due to the new dish being the focus of attention, everyone was concentrating on whether the new dish was well-received, giving him a pri opportunity to act.
Chef Wu eyed a plate of Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce and was about to place the worm inside but then hesitated.
The shredded pork was not obvious; what if the guests mixed it with rice and swallowed it?
It needed to be on a dish conspicuous enough but not too obvious, else the waiter might discover it beforehand while serving.
His gaze landed on the new dish.
This dish was densely packed with nurous small gourds. Concealing a worm beneath one should not be discovered during the short serving ti. Once it reached the guest’s table, when they pick it up, the white worm on the golden gourd would be easily noticed.
Having set it in place, he called the chubby waiter, "You go serve this dish."
The chubby waiter nodded without much thought.
Chef Wu called him because he knew the waiter was nearsighted but usually hated wearing glasses.
Currently, the waiter wasn’t wearing glasses for the sake of looking good on cara.
He figured the chubby waiter without glasses would absolutely not see the worm, and once the dish reached the table, everything would be settled.
Unexpectedly, today the chubby waiter was sharp-eyed!
"Why do I see sothing moving?" The chubby waiter squinted at a small gourd.
Chef Wu urged, "Hurry up, the guests are waiting impatiently. What are you staring at? Quickly serve the dish to the guests!"
"Sothing’s wrong. I seem to see sothing moving! Could it be a bug? I can’t serve it! Everyone co over here and help take a look. I can’t see clearly without glasses, but it really looks like sothing is moving!" The chubby waiter shouted loudly.
