Little Taotie’s footsteps quietly retreated, as if afraid of being captured.
The young girl retreated, her body emitting a faint glow, and she even transford into the appearance of Little Beast Bai Bai, just to escape faster.
Sure enough, the War God reached out his hand.
Little Beast Bai Bai had barely run a little distance when an invisible giant hand scooped her back.
"I haven’t heard anything, please don’t kill to silence !"
The Little Beast spoke human words, sohow revealing itself despite claiming innocence.
The War God chuckled as he held Little Beast Bai Bai in his arms, like cradling a baby, with one hand holding her and the other gently tickling her chin.
Originally wanting to run away, Little Beast Bai Bai imdiately settled down quietly.
"Want to hear a story about us?" The War God whispered softly near her fluffy ears, his voice gentle, his breath warm.
Warm breath sprayed into Little Beast Bai Bai’s ear, earning an adorable look of complaint from the Little Beast.
The War God laughed heartily.
His subordinate was about to be overwheld with surprise; the War God actually laughed—laughed out loud and continuously, sothing so rare!
Seemingly noticing the curious gaze filled with eager curiosity from his subordinate, the War God calmly said, "You may leave now."
Oh, no! I still want to see you fall in love!
Sadly, the subordinate didn’t dare to say.
The subordinate verbally agreed, then slowly walked outside.
The pace wasn’t just a little slow, seeming to want to wait for the drama to unfold.
The War God was patient as well; he wouldn’t speak until the subordinate completely left the area.
Once he walked far enough away, the War God reached out and pinched the soft, outwardly white and pink ears of the young girl.
Little Beast Bai Bai desperately shook her ears, trying to dodge his hands.
Little did she know, her anxious annoyance, with a touch of resentnt in her gaze, was extrely bright and adorable.
The War God lifted Little Beast Bai Bai’s face, and also tickled her chin in the process.
Forced to lift her head and et the War God’s gaze, the Little Beast said, "...I’m hungry, can you let go eat?"
"No."
The War God rarely refused her.
The Little Beast was huffing, showing her little canine teeth, a "growl growl growl" threatening sound in her throat, as if the War God refused her again, she’d bite down without rcy.
The War God surprisingly did not dodge, instead offering his hand to her mouth, "Co, grind your teeth."
The threatening Little Beast Bai Bai said, "..." Co on! How can anyone be fierce with you acting this way!
Seeing her calm down, the War God slowly spoke, "Co, let’s listen to this story. In the story, you’re a fox."
Little Beast Bai Bai nearly jumped up in anger, "Why a fox? I’m clearly a Taotie! Is Taotie not strong enough now, how could a slly fox outrank it! No, I need to turn back into a human, and cultivate myself into one!"
Seeing her get so into character, the War God chuckled lightly, "They’re all fictional, so there’s no need to take it seriously."
From nowhere, a bunch of grapes appeared in the War God’s hand, and he plucked a grape and brought it to Little Beast Bai Bai’s mouth.
Little Beast Bai Bai leaned in to sniff it, then shook her head on the spot.
Soone used to eating delicacies of the mountains and seas would definitely be reluctant to eat such mortal fruits.
Although Little Taotie would absolutely love the taste of sothing delicious with just one bite, if the food’s appearance wasn’t good or its sll wasn’t pleasant, she seed unable to even take the first step.
"Why not eat?"
"Thick skin."
The War God laughed out loud and resignedly started peeling the grape for the young girl.
