Whether soone is guilty is not determined by guesswork, but by presenting actual evidence.
This is a criminal case, where prosecutors will lead the search for evidence, and ultimately a judge will decide guilt.
If the evidence presented by the prosecutor is rejected one by one, becoming invalid, the case may turn into an unsolved one, and both suspects would be released without charges.
"Who is telling the truth, and who is lying?" the girl fretted.
The middle-aged male artist asked, "Isn’t there a polygraph?"
The director shook his head, "You’ve forgotten, all these cases are adapted from real ones. In the previous Earl’s Case, not everyone was equal. And in this case, there was no polygraph."
The middle-aged male artist asked, "Was it before the polygraph was invented?"
The director, "It may have been invented, but it wasn’t widely used yet, and its reliability was still in question."
Ji Guang furrowed his brow tighter, his voice hoarse, "Can I ask a question?"
The director nodded, "Ask."
Ji Guang looked down, his voice grave, "Since this is adapted from a real case, do you know what the outco of the original case was?"
The director nodded, "I know, and I can openly tell you, both were released in the end."
The girl was alard, "Are you saying that the murderer was never caught in the end?"
The director nodded, "Yes."
"Soone died tragically in the bathroom and the murderer wasn’t caught?" the girl asked again, her eyes incredulous and visibly agitated.
The director sighed, "Yes."
The girl raised her voice, more agitated now, "But both of them were at the murder scene! One of them is lying, the liar must be the murderer, just follow the investigation and the murderer will be found! What are the police and the prosecutor even doing!"
The director handed her a cup of tea.
The girl pushed it away angrily, "I’m not drinking!"
Suddenly, the hand she pushed out stopped in midair, the girl seed to realize sothing, looking around at everyone with uncertainty. She noticed Ji Guang, Little Taotie, the director, and the middle-aged male artist’s expressions all turned contemplative, as if reflecting on sothing.
The girl also fell into silence, pondering sothing.
Rock Band mber, "Has everyone been put on pause? Why isn’t anyone talking?"
The girl’s gaze turned to the director and asked, "Why did you offer them tea?"
The director touched his police hat, "Finally, soone noticed that."
The director straightened his hat, "I am now the police, not a director, I need to get into character."
Everyone looked at him, waiting for him to speak.
The lights dimd, and when they brightened again, the police sat at a desk, opposite a junior police officer.
The police reviewed the statent and handed it to the junior police officer, asking, "Do you see anything wrong with this?"
The junior police officer looked over it and shook his head, "It all looks real, you can’t see any flaws from the surface."
The police pointed at the tea cup on the desk, "Did you take this lesson at the police academy?"
The junior police officer nodded, "Since we entered the interrogation room, every action is deliberate, so you offering them tea was a deliberate act? Were you testing them?"
The police nodded, "To be the sole eyewitness of a murder, anyone would not have ti to delicately sip tea, let alone tolerate any unsightly tea leaves floating."
"Are you saying that young man... lied?"
