Chapter 753: Chapter 753: You’re Just a Mount
Little Taotie took a step back, startled by a gaze that seed almost tangible.
Since leaving the ho in the mountains, she had never again encountered such a disdainful gaze.
That kind of gaze was just like the one her mother in the mountains used to give her.
Hating her, despising her, thinking she was superfluous, wishing she could vanish, yet begrudging sothing, gritting her teeth.
The woman withdrew her gaze and looked toward the distant mountains, coldly saying, “Recognize your place! You are rely a mount!”
Little Taotie, puzzled, had no ti to ask for clarification before a flash of light passed by, and the woman disappeared.
Little Taotie widened her eyes, filled with bewildernt.
Her consciousness clearly knew she was dreaming, and since this was a dream, she wasn’t scared by the woman’s sudden vanishing act; apart from being perplexed, she felt an inexplicable bewildernt.
She looked around and saw a figure approaching rapidly in the distance, leaving afterimages in its wake.
“War God?” Little Taotie took a few steps forward.
In the dream, she relied heavily on War God and subconsciously wanted to get closer to him.
War God’s gaze fell on where the woman had disappeared, slled a scent that did not belong to Little Taotie, and asked, “Did soone just co here?”
Little Taotie nodded, gesturing with her hands, “About this tall, a sister with very white skin, wearing a white glowing dress, and, oh, the ribbon draped over her shoulders fluttering on its own.”
“Princess of Qingqiu?” War God narrowed his eyes, asking, “What did she say to you?”
With a childlike voice, Little Taotie said, “She told to recognize who I am, saying I’m just a mount.” She tilted her head, puzzled, “But aren’t I your comrade in arms?”
He had thought that, after hearing such words, Little Taotie would beco angry or be sadly depressed.
War God did not expect her to question him instead.
This was probably for the best.
War God gently laughed, his voice tender, “Yes, from the ti the Lion Tribe took you, I promised you are my comrade in arms.”
Little Taotie giggled, her eyes sparkling brightly, “War God, can you make stronger?”
“Why do you want to beco stronger?”
Being stronger could help gather rit faster, and gain Faith Power more quickly so that Little Beast Bai Bai could awaken sooner!
But the words she wanted to say just wouldn’t co out.
Little Taotie tried to speak several tis, but no sound ca out.
She tilted her head, “Want to get stronger, gain lots of people’s admiration!”
Hey! She could say that!
Little Taotie curved her lips up, showing shallow dimples, her eyes full of expectation looking at War God, hoping he would teach her how to beco stronger.
War God t her shining eyes, his smile even more gentle, “Being strong doesn’t necessarily an you’ll gain a lot of people’s admiration.”
“Why?” Little Taotie didn’t understand, tilting her head, her brain seemingly instinctively believing that becoming strong would make many people admire her.
“While animals indeed respect strength, humans are more complex.”
“Complex?” Little Taotie’s eyes were confused, the little stars in her eyes gradually scattering.
As she ca back to her senses, pulled away, she once again beca an observer from a God’s perspective.
She saw the girl questioning why humans were so complex.
War God sighed, “Humans have seven emotions and six desires; human hearts are unpredictable…”
“Don’t understand.”
War God patted her head, “You don’t need to understand.”
The scenery in the dream suddenly changed.
War God, holding a sleeping Little Beast Bai Bai, traversed miles in re steps, and after a few steps, appeared in the lands of Qingqiu.
The lands of Qingqiu were lush and green, with beasts of strange shapes and keen eyes. Seeing War God arrive, they all showed respect and spoke in human languages.
War God put away his tenderness towards Little Beast Bai Bai, his gaze calm and indifferent like a deep, ancient well.
“Princess of Qingqiu, Bai Shuang, are you there?”
