Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Dreaming of the War God Again
The little white dumpling fell down, stood up again, tried to learn how to transform, fell once more, and then sprawled on the ground refusing to get up like a petulant child.
An armored person approached—it was the War God.
The War God had chosen it to be his mount and would soon start their journey.
However, it hadn’t yet mastered transformation, nor had it learned many other skills; it felt utterly useless, which depressed it even more. Its head drooped, with the corners of its eyes turning red, looking pitiful.
Even though the War God was decisive and fierce on the battlefield, a figure dread and sorrow, he was actually a very gentle person in daily life.
Gently, the War God lifted it up and caressed its tiny head, smiling as he asked, “My comrade, we haven’t even set off and you’ve already lain down?”

“Wuu wuu wuu…”
“Why are you crying?” The War God grew a bit flustered, unsure of how to console the little cub.
The War God recalled how he had seen elders of the Human Clan soothe little children; they’d give them sothing tasty, and the children would stop crying.
The War God conjured a piece of candy and handed it over, “Want so?”
The little beast that had been sobbing blinked, its large eyes filled with tears, intently staring at the candy in the War God’s hand. It sniffled, apparently trying to discern the candy’s scent.
Seeing it cease crying, the War God breathed a sigh of relief, finding the thod of the Human Clan really effective.
To double the effect, the War God conjured a handful of candy, and then another handful…and another…
Little Taotie hiccuped and completely stopped crying.
“Want so?” The War God asked again.
Looking at the mountain of candy created by the War God, it could no longer cry. Its large eyes curved up and it enthusiastically plunged into the mountain of sweets, turning and rolling in the candy, mashing the sticky ss into its snow-white fur.
It tried to eat the candy stuck on its tail but found its tail too short and its neck too stubby; it simply couldn’t reach the candy.
It felt like crying again!
The War God, noticing tears pooling in her eyes, imdiately stepped forward to pluck the candy from her tail and brought it to her mouth, “Please don’t cry.”
Little Taotie blinked, as if she had uncovered a little secret.
The War God really seed scared of her crying!
Eventually, she seed to have gotten hold of a strategy against the War God; whenever he refused to give her treats, she’d prepare to cry—never bursting into tears imdiately, as it wouldn’t be threatening enough. She had to let the tears roll around in her eyes, giving him a deeply aggrieved look. This always made the War God eventually give in.
The War God always said candy could spoil teeth and tried to limit its quantity, but every ti she gave him the on-the-verge-of-tears look, he would start indulging her without limits.
“War God, are we heading into battle soon?”
She scratched at her little tail. She could now transform into the form of a child, but her transformation skills were still flawed. Her tail and ears wouldn’t transform properly; anyti she took on a human appearance, her tail and ears remained the soft, white, original forms of Little Taotie.
“Yes, we are preparing to head into battle soon, but you don’t have to go this ti.”
“Why? I’m already quite capable! I can help you!”
“You’re still young and not suited for slaughter.”
“But I want to go, can you take , please?”
She harangued and pestered him, trying to use crying as a display of her strong desire to join the battle and her resolve to confront the Demon Clan.
However, no matter how much she cried this ti, the War God was unyielding and didn’t take her with him. Yet she was mischievous and secretly followed him.
