Manbao thought this way, and the buyers in the courtyard weren’t fools either. Seeing no agreent was reached, they turned around to leave. The seller imdiately grabbed them and shouted loudly, "No way! I’ve wasted half a day here with you, and now you say you’re not buying?"

The buyer was stunned, "What do you an? You wasted half a day, I also wasted half a day. If there’s no deal, you won’t let go?"

The seller yelled, "You ca here first thing in the morning, touched the ox several tis, wasting my whole morning. If you want to leave, bring ten coins!"

No one’s money cos from nowhere; how could the buyer agree?

The family’s two brothers imdiately ran out to block the buyer’s way, not letting them leave without paying.

The three people leaning against the wall were all stunned, but the other villagers watching had seen this before. A young man nearby saw Manbao and the others with wide eyes and cheerfully explained, "Their family has always been this overbearing, you’ll get used to it."

Bai Shan couldn’t help but ask, "Do they even acknowledge this?"

The young man, knowing he ant the buyers, laughed, "So do, so don’t. Those who don’t will make a fuss and go find the Chief, and then it’s settled."

Manbao couldn’t help but ask, "Then my dad..."

"Oh my, who dares ask your dad for money? Don’t be fooled by how aggressive these Jia brothers are; they don’t match up in front of Uncle Jin."

Bai Erlang curiously asked, "Why? Is it because their family wants to marry into Chief Guan’s family?"

The young man shook his head, saying, "No, because Uncle Jin has six sons."

Manbao beca proud, "That’s right, since childhood no one dared bully . It’s because I have six brothers."

Whether in fights or argunts, the Zhou Family never backs down.

Bai Shan and Bai Erlang couldn’t relate to the feeling, so they remained silent.

The bargaining in the courtyard had escalated into an argunt; it seed a fight would break out. Manbao watched the Jia brothers in contemplation.

Bai Shan saw her expression and couldn’t help but ask, "What are you thinking?"

"I sohow feel these two look familiar, but I can’t recall."

Bai Shan and Bai Erlang also leaned over the wall to stare at the people in the courtyard. After a while, they couldn’t recognize them either, hesitantly guessing, "Could it be we’ve crossed paths between the two villages?"

Manbao shook her head, and couldn’t help but ask Keke inside, "Keke?"

Keke responded, "A large portion of your China root was dug up from their mountain."

Manbao instantly rembered, shouting, "I rember now, this is Jia Sheng and Jia Li!"

The Jia brothers in the courtyard turned their heads upon hearing the shout, looking at Manbao. Manbao wasn’t afraid of them at all, staring back with wide eyes.

The Jia brothers clearly didn’t recognize Manbao, and one waved his fist at her, saying, "What are you looking at? Scram, scram!"

The villagers quietly dispersed a bit, but most stayed, enjoying the spectacle, unafraid of the Jia brothers.

Manbao didn’t budge, still leaning over the wall talking to them, "Are those two mountains by Crow’s Mountain yours, brothers?"

Jia Sheng paused, then looked Manbao up and down, "That’s right, they belong to us. Why, does your family want to buy trees?"

"Nope," Manbao replied, "my family has land for seven people, no shortage of trees."

"Hey, where did this kid co from? Here to get spanked?" The young man beside them laughed, "Brother Sheng, this is the daughter of Uncle Jin from Qili Village, a reincarnated fairy!"

Jia Sheng choked up imdiately, glaring at Manbao before turning to block the buyer again, shouting, "Ten coins or don’t think about leaving today!"

The buyer, annoyed, said, "Fine, you’re bullying because my family has no one, right? Wait, I have five cousins..."

Jia Sheng wasn’t afraid at all, "I also have cousins, just as many as you. Enough nonsense, are you giving or not?"

The buyer was so mad his neck turned red, shouting back, "No way! Let’s see what you can do!"

Jia Sheng and Jia Li pushed the buyer. Usually, people looking at the ox would give in when threatened, as ten coins wasn’t much.

But today they t soone equally stubborn, who refused to yield; the two sides were on the verge of fighting. Bai Shan glanced at Manbao, counted ten coins from his purse, leaned over the wall and said to the people inside, "Let him go, I’ll cover the ten coins."

Manbao and Bai Erlang both turned to look at him, feeling like he was squandering wealth.

Bai Shan reached out to turn Bai Erlang’s head back, while Manbao, without needing to be prompted, turned back to watching the situation inside.

The three about to fight in the courtyard all looked at Bai Shan.

The buyer’s face turned red, protesting, "No, I can’t let a child pay. I really shouldn’t give this money. You should go ho..."

Jia Sheng and Jia Li exchanged a glance, one walked over, reaching out, "Give the money."

Bai Shan reached over the wall, placed five coins in his palm, saying, "Release him, and I’ll give you the remaining five coins."

Jia Li tossed the coins in his hand, nodded to his brother, and Jia Sheng let the buyer go.

The buyer was dissatisfied now, saying, "Give the money back to the kid; is this how your Jia family bullies people..."

Bai Shan said, "Uncle, please leave quickly. If a fight breaks out, the dical bills will cost more than ten coins."

Manbao jumped down from the wall, ran around to the main gate, grabbed the buyer and led him out.

The Jia brothers didn’t stop them.

Once they all ca out, Bai Shan happily handed the other five coins to the Jia brothers, clapping his hands cheerfully, "Alright, peace brings prosperity."

Jia Li scoffed and took the money, looking at the crowd leaning on their wall watching, angrily waving his hand, "Get lost, get lost! What are you all gawking at? What’s it to you?"

The crowd, realizing there was nothing much to see, laughed and dispersed.

The buyer, pulled out by Manbao, looked irritably at the three kids. He mumbled a few words and reluctantly took ten coins from his pocket to return to Bai Shan.

Bai Shan refused, "It’s not your fault, Uncle. I just don’t like seeing fights, so I gave the money. It really shouldn’t be given to them."

"You know it shouldn’t be given, but you still did," he was frustrated at the ntion of this, "I won’t give it to them. I don’t believe they really dared to hit ?"

Bai Erlang said grumpily, "Didn’t they just take a swing? Would you really wait for them to hit before paying? Why bother? Hand over the money now, a hero doesn’t suffer short-term losses. You can always bring people back later."

The buyer: "... For ten coins, I have to invite people over?"

Inviting people costs money, even if it’s family or friends. No charge may be needed, but a al certainly is. For ten coins he’d invite soone over for a al? How impractical!
