Imperial Doctor Liu and Imperial Doctor Zheng heard and also ran over to take a look.

Then the four doctors squatted down carefully on the ground to unroll the scroll of the book, and a few pieces of fragnted paper inside scattered out. Director Xiao felt heartbroken, "The editor didn’t even restore it or paste it back together."

Imperial Doctor Zheng said, "These are dical classics; they probably focused on repairing other texts, how could they see our dical classics?"

Director Xiao then rolled up his sleeves and said, "Let do it."

He had also learned how to restore ancient manuscripts because their family had always searched for dical books outside, and so were so badly damaged that they had to repair them themselves.

Manbao didn’t have this skill, so she squatted beside them for fun. No one expected that the book restoration journey of the Imperial Hospital would start with repairing an ancient manuscript.

Now, not only Manbao, but also Imperial Doctor Liu and Imperial Doctor Zheng started to wander around the pavilion, just to find dical classics.

Their reason was particularly upright; since they had to repair books, naturally they had to find books first to see which ones to copy excerpts from...

Because the Crown Prince was lenient with them and hadn’t demanded when exactly the dical books had to be restored, the four doctors unintentionally deviated and unanimously put aside the book compilation task, first pondering over the dical classics in the Chongwen Pavilion.

Manbao was buried in the pile of books until an official lady ca over, "...The Crown Princess is asking for you."

Only then did Manbao leave the Chongwen Pavilion, quietly following the official lady to the West Mansion, still ntally preoccupied with the dical books.

After arriving at the Crown Princess’s place, Manbao snapped back to reality and quickly paid her respects.

The Crown Princess smiled and beckoned her over, "No need for such formalities, co quickly, you haven’t had lunch yet, right? Perfect, join for so food."

Manbao smiled and approached. Naturally, the Crown Princess’s als were better than those at the Chongwen Pavilion.

Now that the Crown Princess’s belly had started to swell with form, she said with a face full of maternal love, "Last night, I felt the baby move, and His Highness and I were overjoyed."

Manbao smiled and said, "At over four months, it’s indeed ti for the fetal movent. Congratulations, Your Highness."

The Crown Princess had a great appetite, always eating according to the dietary plan prepared by Manbao. Seeing this, Manbao was satisfied and took the Crown Princess’s pulse, assuring her that the pulse was strong and healthy without any problems.

The Crown Princess was satisfied, and so were her attendants.

Currently, Prince Guangping was reprimanded and sent back to his territory, Prince Gong was still confined in the palace, Hou Ji was executed, and the Hou family was exiled. It seed as if the ghosts and demons in the Eastern Palace had vanished, and during this period, the Crown Princess was peaceful, and no further issues arose around the Crown Prince.

However, the people in the Eastern Palace and Manbao didn’t dare to completely relax because while saving soone might be difficult, causing harm was relatively easy, especially to a pregnant woman.

Even though Manbao knew from Yang Heshu that the Crown Prince intended her participation in the Imperial Hospital’s book restoration to cover personal needs, since she was involved, she had to even do the "private" tasks well.

After the al, the head maid of the Crown Princess even led Manbao around the room. Of course, she couldn’t openly say she wanted Manbao to check for any inappropriate spots. Each ti, there was a different excuse, like the Crown Princess had a new set of clothes made but couldn’t wear them now; would Lord Zhou Junior like to see if the style suits the Crown Princess?

Or that the Crown Princess had a new set of jewelry placed in the dressing box; would Lord Zhou Junior like to take a look?

By the ti Manbao left the Crown Princess’s place, it was after they had taken a nap on the couch. Occasionally, she might bump into the returning Crown Prince and conveniently check his pulse.

In just those few days, Manbao, Zhou Man, and others adapted to the life in the Chongwen Pavilion. It was not much different from outside, reading in the morning, checking the pulse of the Crown Princess or Crown Prince at noon, resting for a bit, and then teaching acupuncture to those like Ms. Doctor Liu and Zheng Gu in the Eastern Palace’s side hall in the afternoon.

Eunuch Wu was very considerate and knowing that Manbao and the others lived in the Eastern Palace, the attendee list for these few days mostly consisted of palace maids and inner attendants from the Eastern Palace. So, Manbao took this opportunity to acquaint herself with the various personnel on duty throughout the Eastern Palace and matched nas to faces.

Manbao also took over Ma Fuming and Xu Yu. Xu Yu, like most palace maids, perhaps due to long exposure to cold water, suffered from a cold uterus, which Manbao could only treat with acupuncture to promote blood circulation and clear pathways;

And Ma Fuming had the sa ailnts as most of the court eunuchs, and even more symptoms.

After this matter, wherever Manbao went, there were people who recognized her, and even from afar, they would raise a hand in greeting.

One day, after finishing the pulse diagnosis for the Crown Princess, Manbao said, "Your Highness, tomorrow I have a day off, is there anything you’d like to bring you when I go out of the palace?"

The Crown Princess laughed and said, "I do want to try the at pie from the stall opposite Jishi Hall, but I know you can’t bring it into the palace, so never mind."

It is possible to bring it in; even if it can’t be smuggled in the dicine box, it could be placed in the system space. However, as a doctor, carrying food for the Crown Princess is sothing that shouldn’t be done if possible.

Therefore, Manbao smiled and left after a nap.

But because she spoke with the Crown Princess for a while longer, she left a bit later than usual today. Thinking she might be late for the side hall, she and the lady-in-waiting accompanying her decided to take a shortcut.

The two of them took another path out and ended up encountering two young palace maids carrying food boxes. When they saw Manbao, they stopped and saluted.

Manbao nodded, and as she walked past them, she caught a faint scent from the food box. She had already walked past them when she thought sothing was amiss. She stopped and turned her head, prompting the lady-in-waiting accompanying her to ask, "Lord, what’s wrong?"

Manbao asked, "Who is that food box for?"

"For the Crown Princess," the lady-in-waiting smiled and said, "The Crown Princess is pregnant and gets hungry quickly, so she always needs to eat sothing after a nap."

Upon hearing this, Manbao turned around and went after the two young palace maids.

The lady-in-waiting, seeing this, was startled and hurriedly caught up.

The two young palace maids knelt on the ground, trembling, and said to Manbao, "Lord, we carried the food box all the way from the kitchen without stopping anywhere."

The implication being that if there were issues with the food, it wouldn’t be their fault.

Manbao opened the food box to check and told them, "There’s nothing wrong with the food; I just wanted to see what the Crown Princess is having in the afternoon."

Inside the food box were a fruit platter, snacks, and a stew. Manbao opened the jar and sniffed the stew, identifying the aroma she had slled earlier as coming from the stew.

She put down the ladle, closed the lid, and asked, "Does the Crown Princess have this soup every day?"

The palace maids exchanged glances and cautiously replied, "Not every day, but there’s always a bowl of stew in the afternoon because the Crown Princess has a good appetite, including at stews and such."

Manbao also saw a bowl of at stew beside it, but the at was sparse, mainly rice, and should be called porridge instead of stew.

Manbao closed the food box, pondered for a mont, and decided to go back and see the Crown Princess with the lady-in-waiting.

Manbao knew that a pregnant woman’s appetite differs from others, but so things shouldn’t be eaten too much, "Your Highness, the rest is fine, but this soup is stewed with dicinal herbs and is very nourishing; if consud excessively, the child might grow too large."
