After dinner, the sky was not yet dark. Several people took so money to the kitchen to fetch so lons, fruits, and snacks and went up to the pavilion.

From a height, one can see far. Standing on the third floor of the pavilion, looking north, they could see the West Inner Court, but unfortunately, they could only see the horse field. The Forbidden Army camp was set behind a grove, so they couldn’t see it from this spot.

Bai Shan stood to the north, his thoughts a jumble, wondering why the builders constructed this layer of the pavilion when the Eastern Palace was built. Wasn’t it providing the Crown Prince with the opportunity to spy on the palace and the Forbidden Army?

Feng Zongping personally brewed tea for everyone and said to Bai Shan and Zhou Man who were standing together, "Stop looking and co have so tea."

The two of them snapped out of their thoughts, walked back, and sat down. So other people ca up to the pavilion to play but found the best spot already taken, so they turned and went downstairs or to other places.

Leaning against the railing on the third floor, Feng Zongping couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief and laughed, "I thought entering the palace would be a hard task, but it’s not much different from outside—just not as free. How are your studies? Can you keep up?"

Although they were of different ages and attended different classes before, they were attending the sa lessons at the mont.

After all, there were only nine of them, and the teachers giving lectures were part-tirs; they had positions elsewhere too, unlike the professors of the Imperial Academy, who could constantly supervise them.

Thus, the lessons were the sa; so content catered to the older ones like Feng Zongping, so were more Southern in style, and so were subjects Feng Zongping had learnt in the Imperial Academy, essentially reviewing old knowledge to gain new insights.

However, the sa text taught by different teachers felt different.

The day before yesterday, Assistant Lecturer Zhu and Assistant Lecturer Sun chose the sa text to explain. There were many differences in their content. Hearing that Assistant Lecturer Zhu was teaching the sa material, Assistant Lecturer Sun ca to listen. The two assistant lecturers ended up in a heated debate in the classroom.

In the end, their faces turned red and necks swollen, almost like they were having an argunt, about to roll up their sleeves and fight, startling the students who hadn’t seen much of the world.

In the end, it was Libationer Kong who ca forward and took both assistant lecturers away.

It was quite scary. In the Imperial Academy, although the teachers occasionally had disagreents and wouldn’t easily go to blows, at most they’d set up a platform, invite other teachers as judges, and have a heated argunt—no, a debate.

Bai Shan and Yin Huo didn’t have much issue. It was Bai Erlang and Liu Huan who struggled a bit, but their class ti wasn’t long, and they had plenty of free ti daily to study on their own.

So, with those two guiding them, they barely managed to keep up, but it was a bit harder for the others. Luckily, where the East was dim, the West would shine. There were many courses to attend, besides classics and history, there were legal studies, archery and horse-riding, swordplay, and let’s not ntion optional courses like qin, chess, calligraphy, and painting.

Because there were so many courses and their class ti was limited, the sessions weren’t dense, and even the most profound classics and history only took up at most two lessons a day.

The rest of the ti was spent studying the nation’s legal docunts, explaining so military strategies, or attending qin, chess, calligraphy, and painting classes.

They’d only attended the archery class twice. Unfortunately, Manbao missed out, but riding horses in the Western Garden was quite fun.

The Crown Prince loved joining them for horse riding too. Strangely, he never missed an archery class but often skipped classics and history unless it was Libationer Kong’s lecture.

Bai Shan took a sip of tea, stating they had no issues, and asked Feng Zongping, "What do you think of the courses in the palace?"

Yi Ziyang said, "The studies are more varied than in the Imperial Academy but also deeper."

He continued, "We’re a bit better off. All we have to do is study, but they have it worse. I heard that besides classics and history, they have few other courses. Most of the ti, they assist with odd tasks for the Office of Palace Affairs, like recently finding and organizing materials in the library."

The Crown Prince was finally getting serious about governntal affairs, with a lot to do, so the twenty extra hands weren’t too many—it was mostly odd tasks.

Especially with the reorganization of the Imperial dical Bureau, there’s a lot of tedious work. They are currently investigating several major pharmacies to select a few for cooperation to supply the dical bureau with pharmaceuticals in the future.

Feng Zongping curiously asked Manbao, "How is your book compiling going?"

Manbao paused before saying, "It’s just getting started. There’s no rush. We are still reading. We have to gather materials before we can talk about compiling the book."

Feng Zongping, not versed in dicine, nodded when he heard this.

Manbao drank her tea with a guilty conscience. They had been reading dical classics lately and hadn’t thought about compiling the book.

But whatever, tomorrow was a rest day, and she’d go ho first. At this ti, Fourth Brother should have returned from Shangzhou, right?

They had tea and snacks in the pavilion and didn’t collect their things to leave until the palace curfew bell sounded for the first ti.

After coming down from the pavilion, Bai Shan picked up a lantern and said, "Let’s go, I’ll walk you back."

Manbao did not refuse, and the two walked together to Manbao’s residence. Bai Shan escorted her to the door, watching her enter the courtyard before turning back.

When he got back to his own courtyard, the curfew bell was just ringing for the third ti.

As soon as he entered the courtyard, the palace attendants closed the courtyard gate and locked it.

Manbao took off her outer garnt, did so simple washing, and went to bed.

Thinking it over, she entered the system and began browsing a book on the history of dical developnt. She had no experience in compiling books but thought that since the book was ant for students, they’d have to compile it to train the type of students they wanted.

Thus, she thought it was essential to first consider what kind of students they wanted to train.

With the previous dynasty’s Imperial dical Bureau as an example, and with the history of dical developnt in the Encyclopedic Institute from ancient to present tis—though she couldn’t see that much—the guide was clear.

Manbao reckoned she would just look at the ancient tis as Keke suggested to see how dicine was taught back then.

Manbao flipped through the history but didn’t find what she wanted, so she searched in the Encyclopedic Institute for more information.

With so many books, she certainly couldn’t go through them one by one, so she set so keywords: dical developnt, disciplines, Imperial dical Bureau, and several rows of books ca out—over a hundred.

Manbao directly removed those related to their era, leaving only books on ancient dicine and archaeology, but there were still about twenty.

Since she wasn’t from Keke’s world, she had no borrowing rights and could only flip through a few pages before deciding whether to buy.

Manbao looked at their points, glanced at her total points, and generously bought all twenty-three books.

It was impossible to read them all, but since she bought them, she couldn’t waste them. So, she spent points to print them out, glanced at the table of contents, and then took out a book and left the system.

She couldn’t help but yawn after reading just over ten pages, placing the book on the bedside, and after extinguishing the lamp, she pulled up the blanket and went to sleep.

Planning to take a closer look at the book after returning ho tomorrow.
