Now reading: Chapter 665 - 665 654 Treating the Wound from The Lucky Farmgirl, a Romance novel by Bamboo Rain.

665: Chapter 654: Treating the Wound 665: Chapter 654: Treating the Wound Manbao’s quick reflexes caught the blanket, and she looked disapprovingly at Wei Chen, “What are you doing?”

Ji Hao also glared at him, “Don’t you dare dirty my blanket, or I’ll have to swap it with yours later.”

Wei Chen then turned to look at Bai Erlang, gesturing wildly with his eyes.

Bai Erlang approached and asked, “Big Brother Wei, is your eye twitching?”

Wei Chen: …

He glanced down at the wound on Ji Hao’s chest, saw the bloody ss, and couldn’t help but look away.

When he saw Manbao holding scissors, he was stunned for a mont, “Manbao, you’re not thinking of using those scissors to make his wound bigger, are you?”

“What?!” Ji Hao almost sat up from the bed, but Manbao’s fast hands pressed down on his head and she glowered at Bai Erlang, “If you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t blabber and scare the patient to death.

Is that on you or ?”

Manbao turned her head and soothingly said to Ji Hao, “Don’t be afraid, I just didn’t expect you to strip off your clothes so quickly.

I thought I was going to need to cut them off.”

After all, he was her very first real patient.

Back at the dicinal shop, even though she could also see patients, the final treatnt was always done by Doctor Ji and the others.

Even now that Doctor Ji had let her prescribe, it was still under his assistance, and she had never truly treated a patient on her own.

So, she was quite pleased with Ji Hao as her patient.

Even though they had just fought.

But Ji Hao’s gaze on Manbao beca more and more terrified, he quivered as he looked at Wei Chen and Wei Ting, “You—you make sure to watch her.

Don’t let her commit robbery and murder, no, that’s not right, it’s personal revenge, that doesn’t seem quite right either…”

Wei Chen wanted to shut him up, “Just shut your mouth, soone is trying to treat you.”

The boiled water had already been poured into a basin.

Manbao put down the scissors, stirred the cloth soaked in the basin, and feeling that the temperature was about right, she picked it up with her fingers and shook it to cool it down a bit more, then wrung it out slightly before wiping the wound.

Ji Hao’s face turned white in an instant, and he bit his lip, not speaking.

Bai Shan returned quickly, Wei Ting and Jiao Yong hadn’t expected him to actually manage to get dicine from the dical official, and were montarily stunned, “Why would the dical official give you dicine?”

Bai Shan: “Because I’m a nice guy.”

He placed the dicine aside and leaned over to examine Ji Hao’s wound.

Now that Ji Hao had taken off his upper clothing and was lying down, the wound appeared even more conspicuous.

He frowned slightly, “You were injured yesterday and the bleeding hasn’t stopped?”

“It did stop,” Ji Hao said through gritted teeth and enduring the pain, “but it reopened and started bleeding again after you pushed .”

“Co off it, your wound wasn’t even close to scabbing over,” Bai Shan wasn’t an ignorant child, having a buddy who studied dicine, he naturally knew so dical knowledge, and had even thoroughly read through dical books.

He also had heard quite a bit from Manbao about what went on at the dicinal shop.

It was clear that Ji Hao’s wound wasn’t showing signs of healing, and even if he hadn’t pushed him, a large movent would cause it to bleed again.

Thinking about this, Bai Shan frowned, “You really don’t care about your life, do you?

Getting injured like this, but still thinking about climbing walls, aren’t you afraid of bleeding to death?”

Manbao ignored their banter, focused on cleaning the wound.

The water in the basin turned red in no ti, and Jiao Yong promptly replaced it with fresh water.

With Bai Shan engaging him in conversation, Ji Hao, despite sweating profusely from the pain, didn’t struggle.

“That’s why I wanted you guys to give a boost, we’re all classmates, would it kill you to bend down and help over the wall?

Haven’t we always helped each other like this when climbing walls?”

“Hmph, after you’ve finished flirting you expect us to stoop down to help you over the wall, how shaless can you get?” Bai Shan didn’t give an inch on the question of right and wrong, despite being a patient.

Manbao completed the wound cleaning amid their bickering back and forth.

She then picked through the dicine that Bai Shan had brought, selected an ointnt, and after choosing an appropriate dication and after confirming it was correct, she handed it to Wei Ting, “This is the dicine to be taken internally, have soone decoct it and bring it over.”

Wei Ting acknowledged with an ‘oh’ and carried the dicine out.

Manbao carefully applied the hemostatic ointnt to the wound, then began bandaging it, lanting, “It’s a pity I didn’t bring my needle bag, otherwise I could have used acupuncture to stop the bleeding, which would have been more effective.”

Manbao reflected thoughtfully, “It seems I’ll need to carry my needle bag with in the future.”

This carrying ‘with ,’ of course, did not an having it on Keke, but rather on her person.

Her thoughts drifted into the system space to glance at the needle bag in the corner.

Feeling that Ji Hao would be all right without acupuncture, she decided not to take the risk and kept it hidden.

Bai Shan said, “Your needle bag is too big.

I’ve heard about those compact needle rolls that only have a dozen or so needles, tied together they’d only be about as thick as three fingers.

You could tie it around your waist in the future, or carry it in your sleeve.”

Manbao continued bandaging Ji Hao, nodding in agreent, “That’s a good idea.”

The ointnt took effect, although the dicine prescribed by the physician couldn’t compare with the ones bought for a hefty price elsewhere, nor with the ones she had herself.

Thus it felt a bit spicy and painful.

He sucked in his saliva to resist the urge to speak and distract himself, “Is that so?

Carrying a needle bag around as a student, do you plan to forego the official exams and beco an imperial physician instead?”

“I don’t want to be an imperial physician,” Manbao said.

“Being an imperial physician ans staying in one place for life, which just sounds pitiful.”

Bai Shan nodded in total agreent and added, “It’s also dangerous, haven’t you read it in so stories?

If an official fails to cure a noble’s illness, they drag the physician off and behead them; if another noble’s illness isn’t cured, they ransack the physician’s entire household.”

Ji Hao: “…Who writes these tales?

Except for a few nobles in the palace, who would dare to treat a physician like that?”

And of those few nobles in the palace, who would dare to compile stories about them?

Manbao blinked and said, “I don’t know who wrote it, but there are such stories out there.”

Bai Shan tried hard to rember but couldn’t quite recall where he had heard such a tale.

Nonetheless, he was sure he had seen it.

After finishing the bandages but with the dicine not yet decocted, they all sat waiting.

The atmosphere grew montarily tense.

Wei Chen looked around, fearing that they would start arguing and fighting again, he quickly said, “We have sort of gotten to know each other through this ordeal today, and once we leave here, we’re still friends.

Let’s not get into any more fights or brawls.”

With that, he glanced at Wei Ting, who imdiately nodded and said, “Right, right, that’s how it should be.

We’ve all suffered together today.”

Manbao then asked, “Since we are friends, can you tell how exactly the injury happened?

I understand using a hairpin to stab soone, but how did it co to be a slash wound?”

Ji Hao looked at their ages and couldn’t resist his snarky nature.

He lay on the bed with a heh-heh chuckle, “You guys don’t know what Spring Breeze Pavilion is, do you?”

All three shook their heads, “A restaurant?

A better one than Ganxiang Pavilion?”

Ji Hao couldn’t help but burst out laughing, causing his wound to hurt even more, and he began to howl in pain.

If he wasn’t injured, he’d be rolling around laughing.
